Finishing this book felt like a brutal breakup… because how do I leave this world behind??? The characters, the found family, the answers… all perfect. The ending is epic and full of vengeance.

And you’ll finally get your answer of team Luka or Theon 😏😏😏

My one complaint: I wanted 100 more pages of epilogue

𝑽𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒓 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒕, 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓𝒔.

It’s so hard to write a review of the last book of the series without giving spoilers, so I hope I convince you with my review 😭📖 THIS SERIES WAS PERFECTION. From beginning to endddd!!! ✨🔥

I’ll start by saying that if you love dark fantasy where actions have true consequences, then you are gonna adore Tessa. She is just a girl trying to survive in Devram, where Faes are nothing compared to the Legacies. By Book 4 though, trust me… nothing is what it seems 👀💀

Tessa’s story how it ended is what I’ve been waiting for since book 1. I loved her character development and how she truly prevailed against every single thing thrown at her 🖤 I was not expecting anything less from her.

Don’t even get me started on our men Luke and Theon they are truly “opposites,” but the balance that Tessa needs. Both men’s actions in each book let you truly understand why they are the way they are and why they love Tessa so much 😮‍💨 and their ending OMFG you aint ready.

“𝑰 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅. 𝑰 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒂 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒎 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒓𝒖𝒃𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖. 𝑳𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒚 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒊𝒇 𝒊𝒕 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆. 𝑰 𝒅𝒐 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒏𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒔”

“𝑺𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒕,” 𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒖𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒔. 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝒐𝒇 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒂𝒕, 𝒅𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒔, 𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒄𝒉, 𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓. “𝑺𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒕, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕, 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒔𝒕.” “𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔,”

The best part?! The side characters also get their own story arc and AXEL PLEASEEEEEEE I LOVE THEM SO MUCHHH!! Their own side sorry is one of my favorite parts as well from the entire series. The author makes you want to fall in love all the characters and then end up begging each page for their happy ending. OH MELISSA YOU PLAY WITH MY HEART.

“𝑨𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒎𝒆, 𝒌𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏?”
“𝑵𝒐. 𝑰’𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒖𝒓𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰’𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒖𝒓𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆.”

THE PASSION, THE OBSESSION, THE ACTIONS these men take for their woman??? Delicious 😏🔥 Let’s not forget the plot though!!! This ain't all about romance! By this book you already know what needs to be done, but everyone (aka me) is dreading it, and tbh I was at the edge of my seat the entire time for it to finally unravel. Once it did.. it was everything and more! AHHHH 😭💥

Did I mention that this world has fae, legacies, dragons, vampires, witches, and shifters??? The whole freaking society and world is insane 🖤

This book delivered everything I hoped for and more: emotional payoff, nonstop tension, and a world I still can’t stop thinking about. Hell this is not a goodbye to Devram, I will definitely do a reread.

⋆. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁⋆.⋆. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁⋆.
𝗽𝗿𝗲-𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 ꪆৎ ˚⋅ she's thick and the last out of her series, let's see how many pages it takes for me to find Tessa annoying and find my men HOT.

Thank you Kensington Publishing for my eARC 😭

Edited: Before ya’ll come at me, I do not think this poses as a spoiler because it is now literally on her website (which she just recently added so too little too late). Having said that, I’m not putting on a spoiler tag because I firmly believe this is something potential readers of this book should know beforehand for it can be a trigger to some and not everyone’s cup of tea so they should be able to have a choice not to waste their time and money (like I did) if so.

So yes, I was so very excited to get into this series, but I just found out this turns into a MFM/poly relationship 🫠🤡

Now don’t get more wrong, I have nothing against those, it is just not my cup of tea when it comes to my romance books so I usually avoid them when I find out beforehand that a book has it. But when an author decides to blindside her readers and chooses to include it in an ongoing series that did not have it nor any mention that it would in the first place, I find that so distasteful and unbecoming of an author. Same thing happened with the From Blood and Ash series which turned me off JLA and made me not want to read her books anymore.

I think it’s the responsibility of an author to inform her readers of what to expect and include certain trigger warnings or tropes as big as that.

Now I know a ton of readers love this series but having said all that, PERSONALLY, I am no longer reading this series and most likely any book by this author if this is how she works. 🤷🏻‍♀️

And I wanted to leave this here because I’m a firm believer in readers knowing full well what they’re getting into. I learned that the hard way in the FBAA series.

Missing this world already. Gut punched that there’s nothing left for me to read about my FREAKING family. Bc that’s what these characters are to me now, family.

Tessa’s growth in this book is all I wanted, Theon, and Luka are delicious in this book- I am OBSESSED. Beautiful story, where everything with them gets tied up in a gorgeous bow (yes, this is a MFM romance, if you don’t like that, you won’t like the main love story in this series).

The story was BREATHTAKING. So many heartbreaks, shocks, and fighting the man. I love the parallels this makes to the real world, and making this a poignant story with so much meaning.

I fell in love with characters I didn’t expect to, and there was comeuppance for people who deserved it, too.

I will miss this world literally *SO MUCH*! But I anxiously await MKR’s new series. 6 millllllion stars, y’all. INCREDIBLE.

6-star, god tier series for life 👏🏼

This book is THICC and yet even still, I never wanted it to end. The pacing was so well done and I can’t believe I had to say goodbye to these characters and this story.

The journey every single character went on was incredible— messy, hard, uncertain, but all beautiful. The character development from book one until the final page of book 4 was top notch. The author is excellent at writing flawed characters and I love how realistic it makes every single one.

The plot had me on the edge of my seat, and I teared up multiple times. One of my favorite things about this author is that you can try all you like to predict the plot, and you’ll still get it wrong. No one does twists and turns quite like Melissa K. Roehrich does.

Another one of my favorite things about this author, is the wonderful found family she builds. She doesn’t just have side characters, she gives them their own plot line so we can fully fall in love with every single one. All of them came from messy or traumatic families, and the way they showed up for their chosen family was just so moving.

This series is one of my favorites of all time, and it has my whole heart. I couldn’t possibly love it more🫶🏼

six stars. wow. what a perfect way to conclude this god tier series. i don’t have words. the roller coaster of emotions this book put me through. i was on the edge of my seat the whole time. tessa is hands down one of my favorite fmcs. theon and luka, love them sm. axel and kat, my heart. the found family, chefs kiss. melissa just knows how to write a story with amazing world building and characters who feel like family. this ending gave me the same feelings i felt when reading the ending of kingdom of ash. i’m so sad this series is over but i’m so excited for what’s next in this massive universe.

thank you so so much to kensington publishing for allowing me to be apart of melissa’s legacy keepers and for sending me an arc of this book.

A beautiful ending to a chaotic, intense, and incredible story. I am blown away at how connected I feel to these characters and how I felt like I was in it with them. Melissa writes the most intriguing and deep characters I’ve probably ever read. I highly recommend this series and I’m so sad it’s come to an end but I’m glad these babies get to rest 😭❤️

This book was the perfect conclusion to my absolute favourite fantasy series.

There wasn’t a dull moment and I was equally invested in every POV that’s included. The ending was so satisfying and gave the closure I was craving for every character without feeling dragged out. I loved how the romance played out and where we left off with our main characters.

I might have some more coherent thoughts when I’ve recovered but I’ve only just finished crying over the ending and I need time to process this rollercoaster!

This is a six star series for me though, and every book is as strong as the others.

THIS is how you end a series. Dawn of Chaos and Fury was everything I wanted and needed from the end of this Legacy series. Melissa Roehrich absolutely delivered with this book.

If you have read the first 3 books of the Legacy series then you already know how powerful this story and it's characters are. If you haven't started this series yet.. you are seriously missing out.

Tessa's journey and growth through these books is very dynamic, and in this final installment we get to really see her own her fate and become who and what she was always meant to be. Of course, she never would have gotten there with Theon and Luka - the balance to her Chaos.

Fighting to save a world that has done nothing but beat her down and do its best to control and destroy her, Tessa fights for those that cant fight for themselves, to bring freedom and equality to a very corrupt world. She's strong but broken, wild and untamed, she doesnt know how to be loved, and yet, none of that stops her from stepping up and doing what no one else has been able to do.

This book brought some long overdue deaths and some sacrifices that hurt. It brought death, destruction and pain, but also healing, acceptance, love and hope. The rollercoaster of emotions through this book had me so absorbed that I couldn't put it down - and I wouldn't change a single thing about this experience.

This is bittersweet for me. I have loved this story, and it's characters for so long, I was excited to read the final book and see how it all came to a conclusion, but I am also sad to leave it all behind.

Melissa Roehrich brought us an well written and impactful finale that was everything I wanted from the end of the Legacy series. I cant wait to see what she writes for us next.

I am beyond depressed to leave this world and these characters, but the way this ended was ✨perfect✨ This series remains god tier and a clean sweep of 6 stars!

Once again, an emotional roller coaster ride - I screamed, squealed, giggled and dang near shed some tears. The way these flawed characters have all burrowed their way into my heart.. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Once again I’m left as an emotional wreck while reading this book. This author really knows how to delve into all the feels and rip your heart out in the best possible way. Tessa on so many occasions made me want to reach into the book and just comfort her. The found family aspect of this book as well as the depth and relatability of the side characters is on a different level then so many other books. I had a hard time picking up this book and finishing it because I did not want this story to end. I know I can revisit it (which I most assuredly will.) If you wanted to be pulled into a dark fantasy world of chaos with characters you will bleed with , this is your series.

Soooo… not the biggest fan of the MFM relationship. It was a little weird, and just not my cup of tea. Tbh I don’t know what I was expecting for the outcome, but it wasn’t this 😅

It also really bothers me how childish the main character in the series is. And it doesn’t help that Luka and Theon baby her. That was my biggest issue with the book. Unfortunately, this was also my main issue with the darkness series. Both main characters are supposed to be super powerful goddesses here to save their realm, but they consistently make the most outrageous and idiotic decisions, making every situation they’re in 10X worse. Then they magically become the most intelligent beings on their planet and come up with some ridiculous last minute plan that saves the realm, without bothering to informing those around them. Even when their partners can literally telepathically speak to them through a bond, they fail to communicate their last minute plan? WTF

They both also have this annoying habit of keeping important information from their loved ones, while expecting full honesty and trust from everyone else around them. I hate that they acknowledge their faults, but the writing makes it seem as if everyone else is still at fault for the mistakes the main characters made. For example, when Luka didn’t want to be around Tessa for keeping Xan a secret. She acknowledged she was at fault, but the writing kind of infantilises Tessa, so even though she’s at fault and should be held accountable for her actions, we feel more sorry for her than the person she wronged. These things really make Scarlett and Tessa insufferable!

Overall, I was mostly underwhelmed by how this story turned out. Everything the last three books were building up to ended up taking place in only about 100 pages of book 4. The deaths were quick, and the end seemed quite rushed.

The only thing that kept me reading DOCAF was the whole dragon family dynamic. While there wasn’t nearly as much focus on it as I would’ve liked, I was really excited for everytime Raz, Eliza or Xan were mentioned. Especially when it was from Luka’s POV. I really hope to see a reunion with them again. It was by far the best part of the entire legacy series.
I also need to see all of this from Razik and Eliza’s POV. Razik’s POV in particular is a must!

(4.5/5) Dawn of Chaos and Fury is a fantastic conclusion to The Legacy Series. I cannot believe this series is over?! I finally dove into this universe last month, and I've been lost in the chaos ever since.

📖 ARC Review 📖
🗓️ Pub date: Nov 25, 2025

This is one of those series where every main character was insufferable at one point, but they also felt like family. You know the ones that you can barely tolerate because they're constantly self-sabotaging or causing drama, but you still love them to pieces and support them however you can? Yea, that was me with this cast of characters. And I'm SO glad I was patient with them because this book has the most character growth for every character across the board—including Tessa, the most chaotic of them all.

I am a why choose girlie, so I ate up every single MFM scene. Melissa K. Roehrich had my whole face blushing like a tomato multiple times throughout this book. The romantic chemistry is phenomenal.

Beyond the romance, the found family in this series will forever be one of my favorite aspects. I especially love the attention Melissa K. Roehrich gave to the platonic relationships that grounded and supported Tessa even when she was doing everything in her power to push people away.

The pacing worked for me overall. It's a little over 750 pages—so there were some points that dragged (as expected)—but the fact I finished it in 3 days says a lot.

One thing I want to call out in regards to the magic system development: I appreciate that Melissa K. Roehrich was being very intentional with tying up some loose ends. I had a handful of questions from books 2 and 3 and I felt they were answered here.

I struggle to give this the full five stars because many scenes with the villains almost felt too easy? With all the build-up and chaotic visions the last three books, I expected things to be more difficult. Instead, many confrontations were wrapped up almost too easily.

Overall, I love this series and cannot wait for more readers to dive into this dark romantasy universe now that the series is completed.

A sincere thank you to Kensington for gifting me an ARC ahead of its pub date.

“because while they were her villains, she was theirs. a perfect balance that defied the stars.”

this book was an incredible conclusion to this series! as my first dark fantasy, i devoured books 1-3 earlier this year, which lead to DOCAF being a highly anticipated upcoming release for me!

this series takes you through every single emotion. these characters are messy and complex, but they all have such amazing growth. they get revenge, acceptance, and learn how to love and be loved.

melissa does such an amazing job at creating such a captivating world and has you caring about every single side character (axel my favv). found family is absolutely one of my favorite tropes, and she does it so well in both of her series!

a huge thank you to hambright pr & netgalley for the e-arc! ♥︎

A perfect ending to a perfect series. I am completely wrecked, in the best way possible. Melissa Roehrich has once again proven why she’s one of my all-time favorite authors. This finale was everything I hoped for and more: emotional, powerful, and absolutely breathtaking.

From start to finish, I was fully immersed in this world. The character growth was phenomenal Tessa’s journey especially left me in awe. Watching her rise from heartbreak and darkness into strength and self-acceptance was so moving. And Theon? My heart. Every scene hit so hard. The found family moments, the heartbreak, the sacrifices it all came together beautifully.

This series has always been about survival, love, and the light that can grow out of chaos, and this final book captured that perfectly. It was brutal, hopeful, and unforgettable. I cried, I laughed, I screamed at the pages and now I don’t know what to do with myself.

Melissa, you’re a genius. This was utter perfection.

The audiobook is AMAZING as usual Laura Horowitz is a fabulous narrator and this was exceptional! If you can do immersive reading with this one. It really enriches the experience.

Thanks to Kensington for the gifted ARC. Thanks to RB Media and the Author for the gifted ALC.

I think some people will be upset with the outcome of Tessa’s relationship, personally I loved it! This was a great conclusion to the series, and there were a few tears. This is also the only series I’ll accept the miscommunication trope in. It was dark, all the characters were flawed and morally grey. Theon absolutely got his redemption arc, not that I personally think he needed it, he was a flawed creature of his environment and acted accordingly. The ending however felt rushed, I’ve come to just accept this as Melissa’s writing style, if you’ve read the ending of Lady of Darkness it’s similar to the same plot structure style. It was still fantastic however!

Thank you so much to Kensington for allowing me to read this pre-release in exchange for my honest review.

Dawn of Chaos and Fury by Melissa K Roehrich
The Legacy Series book 4 (finale)
Releases 11/25!

Thank you to Kensington and Melissa for entrusting me with an early copy!

Dedication: For those whose balance is unconventional, you don’t owe anyone an explanation. Let the world wonder.

Dark fantasy romance (read the content warnings!)
Multiple POV, feminine RAGE, whyyyyy choose (MFM), fae/gods/dragons shifters/other shifters/witches/vampires, morally grey everyone, magical bonds, mental health rep, LGTBQ rep, vengeance, forced proximity, meddling gods, politics, so many schemes, betrayal, visions, eyes on me, where is my wife, twists!

A little different set up from my normal reviews since I don't want to give away spoilers! I adored this book and this series! It is dark, the world is messed up, and the characters make mistakes (sometimes a lot of them). But I love them so much!

A few of the many reasons I love Melissa's writing so much: first, the found families! Melissa does ROP TIER found family. They are there for each other through the darkness and messiness. The mental health rep - also top tier! These characters go through a lot and we get to see great representation of people handling mental health differently. Last that I will call out (but certainly not the end of why I love Melissa's work) is what I guess I will call balance - we certainly get emotional devastation and tension and plenty of WTF moments. But we also get the love with the main characters, side characters, and found family that gives us moments of peace and rest and humor even when the world is falling apart.

A few other thoughts: I made it to 27% before crying🤣🥹. Definitely a few reveals and twists that I didn't see continuing! We got all the answers we have been longing for plus some we didn't know we needed. I love this crew SO MUCH! It is so bittersweet to get to the end of this book and this series but I know we will probably see some of them again and I am SO EXCITED for whatever is next from Melissa!

Edit 11/16
I was lucky to also get the ALC for this - audio notes added:
Thank you to Recorded Books for the ALC!!
Dual narration by Laura Horowitz and Christian Leatherman
Laura and Christian did SUCH a great job with this story and these characters! I have been adoring them doing these books and this finale is not the exception. They are both so fantastic and gave these characters I love so much depth and emotion.

a million fucking stars. 4🌶️ another perfect ending to another perfect series by mkr. this woman writes absolutely BRILLIANT stories. my heart is so fucking full right now. i literally cried the last hour of reading this book, and then continued to stare at it while sobbing after reading the notes and acknowledgments. (melissa’s notes always always make me sob though). i cannot tell you how much i love these characters, my heart literally cannot fucking handle how much i love them. and after reading LoD in between reading the first three Legacy books and then this one, i swear this just hit even fucking harder. you can absolutely read this series first or without reading LoD at all, but i HIGHLY recommend from a personal standpoint to read them first. idek what to say other than this was utter perfection and a beautiful way to end a series that was filled with heart ache and emotional damage. the found family, the character growth, the romance, the magic system, the world building, it’s all so so good. god tier. i cannot wait to see what mkr has in store for us next, and for the world to have this in their hands 💜💜💜💜💜

thank you to Melissa K. Melissa has been telling us to trust the process for two years and I just have to say… IN MELISSA I TRUST 🙌🏼

Dawn of Chaos and Fury was everything I wanted in a series finale. Events that I’ve been hoping and waiting for since book 1 finally unfold. Melissa outdid herself with such perfectly, gut wrenching, beautifully captured moments. I’ve been in love with this dark, gritty romantasy series since I read ROSAE in 2023. These characters and this story will forever be one of my Roman Empire series.

I have to shout out the exceptional character growth, allllll of the mental health rep and overcoming those struggles. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it forever, Melissa is a top tier mental health rep author. I love how she is not afraid to explore the darkness these characters face within themselves. Watching them grow and overcome their struggles is so real and something I can deeply resonate with.

There are also so many great themes explored in this series and this finale—including balance, the power of choice, equality and a mother’s sacrifice. I love how Melissa incorporates these issues within her stories!

My girl Tessa is finally standing up for herself, believing in herself and accepting herself and I am here for it! Get ready to be fed with all of the badass feminine rage moments!

As for our men, I’ve always been a Theon supporter and I just love him more and more in each book. Despite everything, Theon has always been such a simp for Tessa and I eat it up. And Luka. His filthy mouth was sending me into orbit. I love them both so much!

DOCAF was everything I wanted and more. Melissa fed me with all of the redemption arcs and the retribution arcs. This was such a satisfying conclusion and I think Legacy fans will be happy with how it wraps up. Bravo, Melissa! I cannot wait to see what you come up with next!

Thank you Kensington and Melissa for the privilege to arc read this. This review is my honest thoughts and opinions.

3.25-3.75☆(so indecisive)

It’s disheartening to give this rating because I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Melissa K. Roehrich’s writing is phenomenal, and I’ll continue to read her books. Don’t get me wrong, the plot kept me engaged, and there was significant character development. However, the story’s direction wasn’t unexpected, but it wasn’t my favorite. That said, the ending left me feeling somewhat disappointed.

Tessa, Theon, and Luka’s dynamic was quite intriguing. However, I couldn’t help but feel that Tessa’s reliance on the two male characters was excessive. I appreciate her strength as a female protagonist, but I was hoping she would have matured beyond her whiny behavior. On a positive note, I enjoyed the additional backstory provided about Theon and Luka’s family dynamics.

“It because injustice shouldn’t be tolerated simply because that’s the way it’s always been done. Injustice wrapped in pretty words is still injustice thousands of years later.”

Axel and Kat’s point of view was absolutely captivating. Axel truly excelled in this installment, and I’m delighted that his character transcended the role of ‘the spare heir.’ I’ll genuinely miss these two characters🥰

“‘You’ll pluck the stars from the sky for me but I’ll burn them to ashes for you just so we can build something new for him.’”

I thoroughly enjoyed Eviana’s perspective, and I couldn’t help but feel deeply moved by the hardships she had endured.

“Because there was always a cost. For every light, there was a dark. For every sacrifice, there was a reward.”

This was an enjoyable read for me. I still recommend it because I adore these characters and the world Melissa created. Did it need to be over 900 pages? No, but I was thoroughly invested from beginning to end.

This book felt like coming home.

I knew the chances of this book being a five-star read were going to be great, with the earlier books in the series fresh in mind. But this book exceeded my expectations. It’s more than 5 ⭐, it’s infinite.

I’m in awe. The way Melissa’s writing draws you in faster than lightning should be studied, and this book was no exception. This is a thick book, and I was never once bored. The tension, the drama, the emotional whiplash, THE ARCS? Unmatched. The sprinkles of happy moments in between all the trauma had my eyes watering more than once. I honestly don't remember how many times I teared up while reading this, and I’m not a crier.

I need to give some extra attention to the character arcs that were in this series. We get full circle moments for many of the main characters. They truly are raw, real, and emotional. When Melissa said “trust the process” she did not lie. The way we see these characters evolve throughout the series, to what they are at the finish line is truly a masterpiece. They are dark and unconventional, colored by their trauma, but that's what makes them so beautiful.

Then we have the Chaosverse? Oh. My. Gods (Fates?). I went into this with a lot of theories and questions, and Melissa delivered, as always. Some things were confirmed, and others were a surprise. You never felt safe, and that's the beauty of it. I especially enjoyed catching easter eggs for the future Chaosverse series. This universe is expanding, without feeling messy, and the excitement I feel for exploring it further is unreal. I can't wait to see what Melissa builds from this!

This definitely turned out to be one of my favorite MFM romances, the romance felt so organic. The balance? Ugh. Perfect and realistic.

Thank you, Melissa K Roehrich, from the bottom of my heart, for the opportunity to read this ARC. It has been a long dream come true, and I loved every second of it.

Legacy has a special place in my heart and is without a doubt one of my all-time favorite series. I miss the gang already.

I have honestly nothing negative to say about this book.

What a conclusion. My heart is full. 🖤

DOCAF gets ALL the ⭐️ for me! In fact, the entire Legacy series gets them - times infinity!

This book was everything I wanted, and more! It was captivating, alluring, emotionally damaging, clever and oh so perfect! I honestly have no words to describe the emotional roller coaster ride I just went on. I came into this book with so many unanswered questions. Melissa did an absolutely fabulous job at hitting every mark while still leaving the tiniest little cracks leaving me hoping for some amazing future series! I wanted to devour this book and somehow it wind up devouring me. My gods, the twists and the secrets revealed were jaw dropping and had my head spinning at times. I know I spent a majority of my of this read clenching my teeth from all these beautifully damaged fast paced action.

There’s so much growth of all these beautifully damaged characters. And as morally black as they all are, you can’t help but adore them. Well most of them anyway; as we did see the most vile get their comeuppance. Their journeys were raw and emotional and beautiful and often times tragic. In the end, they took what they had and salvaged the best they could. And that is all that we can ask for. The utter devotion and loyalty of this found family will leave with so many feels.

Melissa’s writing is truly a work of art that I cannot compare to any other. She just has a way of sucking you in, making you think you know what is happening and then drops the most jaw dropping bombs on you. Listen, I would read her grocery list if it were possible. She is, and will always be an absolute, no questions asked, auto read/buy author for me.

This is a dark romantic fantasy! It has A LOT of content that could be triggering. Please, for the love of the book gods, make sure to read the content warnings prior to reading. This is NOT a MF dynamic; nor a love triangle. It’s pure unadulterated polyamorous. If that is not your cup of tea, that’s okay - this just isn’t the series for you. Your mental health matters!

Thank you to Kensington Books and Melissa K Roehrich for this masterpiece of a book.
