Wow what a sizzler of a story I loved the main characters from their strong friendship to being a couple, the real issues were perfectly balance a must-read congratulations
I absolutely loved this book. It was a incredibly romantic story that beautifully illustrates how living in an environment where everything is assumed to be heterosexual can cause LGBTQ+ individuals to not recognize their own identity, leading to that discovery later in life. However, the book shows that this doesn't mean you can't still find your ideal partner.
The plot is wonderful, centering on the love a lesbian pediatrician feels for her best friend and colleague, who she believed was "straight." This friend, an anesthesiologist, begins to realize that the person who truly sees and accepts her for who she is, is her best friend. Through their circumstances, she comes to see that her feelings might be more than just friendship.
The novel captures the fear of acknowledging that one's understanding of themselves might be different than they thought, and the subtle, underlying knowledge of one's true sexuality that was never explored. The writing is excellent and really draws you into their emotional journey.
I just love a good medical love story and this one does not disappoint!
Grace Parkes does not miss a beat with this delightful tale of best friends growing into love. Even surgeons fall in love! These two woman grow stronger as they discover the depth of their feelings. Despite a mother’s disappointment at her daughter’s choice of career (as if being an anesthesiologist isn’t good enough) learning she is gay takes some time to sink in! Once she comes to her senses, life gets better and leads to a very HEA!
