A final stand. A gathering storm. Freedom’s last breath.
The grid is down. America is splintering. And the real invasion has just begun. On Mount Desert Island, Michael Shepherd fights to hold the line as alliances fracture. Boone’s grip over Bar Harbor tightens. The Sovereign Sons regroup in the hills. And somewhere in the shadows, Cole Garrison waits, wielding truth as his weapon.
Far to the west, Erika Blake leads a high-risk mission to Cold Ridge, a secret uplink base buried in the Vermont mountains. But what begins as a last chance to restore national contact unravels into something proof that foreign forces have already embedded themselves within, and indoctrination is spreading fast.
As Russian and Chinese forces descend, the survivors must make an impossible choice, resist and risk annihilation, or surrender and lose the last remnants of who they are.

I have read several series from Mr Hunt and I always enjoy how he writes his post apolytic books. I wish he would get an advanced reader team like one of my favorite authors does to find the mistakes before the book is published, but I really enjoyed this latest series and would highly recommend anyone who like this genre to read all 4 books.
As a reader who grew up near Mt. Desert Island, this series was a great way to "go back home" after many years. Mr. Hunt did an excellent job in details, names of local towns, businesses, and landscape descriptions. The series was intriguing, fast paced, suspenseful and heartbreaking, all the right elements for a great read! Each book left a huge question as to how this group was going to survive in the long run. 4 separate entities of those fighting for dominion over the rest, without a clue as to the source of the original attack. Book 3 left a disturbing thought that the country was lost before it even began the fight. It wasn't until the very end that the reader had a glimpse of hope that America would survive against its enemies, but still only hope, without certainty.
This plot makes you realize that when war is raging, stand together. Four groups trying to control the island and each one wanted to rule the island. Meanwhile the Russians and Chinese were bringing in heavy forces to drive the inhabitants to surrender. The book was very interesting and a quick read.
This series takes you through more twists and turns than you can count, it begins with a father doing remarkable things to keep his children and town safe in case the worst happens, which it does ! A really good read ! Gary 🇨🇦
This series kept me on the edge of my seat through every book. The characters were believable and the story line of surviving an EMP strike was on point. Gave a different perspective of being a prepped.
The Safety Plan, the Safety Plan Series, Book One by Jack Hunt
This is a book set in the urban New York City area and in rural coastal Maine. It is in a hypothetical time in the not too distant future that has experienced an EMP driven apocalypse thought to be caused by a foreign country's nuclear attack. This book follows several characters' experiences in the first several days of chaos following the attack.
I liked this book. The characters were developed with the primary ones well developed, likable, and quite human. The plot and subplots moved fast enough to keep the story interesting without the reader missing important information. The setting was well thought out and seemed realistic/ possible to me. The writing style complimented the plots allowing the reader to easily follow several plot lines without becoming confused. I will definitely read the next book in the series mostly to find out what the characters will do next.
I read primarily on my kindle and was impressed with the lack of spelling and grammatical errors or typos.
As Nations Fall, book 4 in the exceptional Safety Plan series, is action packed, incredibly tense, and perfectly plotted. With how many moving pieces there are to the story, that is no small achievement. Erika on a hail Mary mission, Cole amassing an army, Boone with his own militia, the Wabanaki, the Shepard all contending with foreign invaders with a plan far more insidious and subversive than anyone could imagine! I can't recommend the Safety Plan series highly enough, especially for fans of survival thrillers. Hunt is at the top of his game with As Nations Fall, and the entire series for that matter! 5/5 stars!
The last third of this book is riveting and a good read. But the first two thirds--slow and boring. The multi book story just doesn't come together well, it meanders. How the majority of people on the island adapt is unknown. The few characters who are highlighted get away with so much. Others shift between competence and being dummies. There are heroic but unrealistic escapes. Jack Hunt has written way better books so this series was a bit disappointing.
Just finished book 4 and loved the series. Very well written with strong characters and story line. Hope there’s a book 5 at some point in the future. Highly recommended!
This is a true combination of emp and invasion. A quick moving page turner. Look at the news today and take what he writes and add to it. The last thing you would imagine happening.....
I read all 4 of these books back to back. This is unusual for me. Interesting and believable characters. Story line is well written and flows through all the books. Glad I found this new author on Kindle Unlimited! Kept my interest all the way through.
Really liked this series. The action and characters were believable. This is not the first series I've read and I enjoyed and recommend all of his series.
