A mortal bride. A prideful demon. A soul bond that could reshape Hell.
I agree to marry him to stop a war.
The Prince of Pride—Lucifer himself—is a fallen angel with obsidian wings, a cruel smile, and too much power wrapped in flawless beauty. He expects me to kneel. To obey. To break.
I don’t.
From the moment I enter his court, we’re locked in a battle of wills. He’s cold, calculating, impossibly arrogant… and far too seductive for a monster. When he touches me, it’s punishment. When he kisses me, it’s possession. Every brush of his mouth leaves a mark—and every stolen moment of pleasure tempts me closer to surrender.
But I won’t bow. Not even when his dominance makes my body ache for more. Not even when the bond between us begins to take root—something ancient, dangerous, and utterly forbidden.
He says love is a weakness. I say it’s the only thing that can tame the demon inside him.
And when assassins come for me in the dark, the Prince of Pride must keep his throne… or claim me as his mate and burn the world to protect what’s his.
He wants to own me. But I might be the one who makes him fall.
3.5⭐ I'm really enjoying this series, the story moves along quickly with it being under 50 pages and it makes them do much more entertaining. not as spicy as I was expecting but I'm looking forward to the next installment.
I liked this one better than the last one—I feel like the romance was stronger, and I’m always a sucker for enemies-to-lovers and when the MMC fights for the FMC. The spice was great, and I loved how he acknowledged that she made him stronger. I also think this book helped move the plot along a little more, especially in showing how the mate bond works.
🌶️🌶️.5
💘 Tropes: • Enemies to lovers • Fated mates / mate bond • Protective MMC • “You make me stronger” dynamic • Fighting for love • Monster romance
Not impressed. It started "in progress" and wasn't a standalone in the slightest. It was supposed to be in Hell, but it read more like a thousand fantasy throne rooms in a thousand books. There's no real plot except.the MMC doesn't want to activate the mate bond. Another overdone trope seen in tons of fantasy books. Oh, and the spice? General and non-specific.
I get this was supposed to be a short story but it still had no focus. It was more of a chapter.
