Offensive Strategies

Rate this book
Ghost Wing Chronicles – Offensive Strategies, is book number 1 in what is expected to be a series of 5 books, though each book can be read as a standalone, as they are individual mission threads.

The book is a first in a number of ways. Firstly it is based around a highly Covert Special Forces Unit out of India. Most books in this genre are about Special Forces out of the US, such as the SEAL Teams or Delta or SAS if UK based. Secondly, the author has not focused solely on one Special Forces Unit from India, such as either the Para Commandos / MARCOS / GARUD Commando Force / NSG instead the covert unit – OS Wing, has the best of the best from each of these Indian Special Forces.

Whilst one expects the book to be conventional in its treatment of characters in this genre, the author surprises in that, he succeeds in bringing out a very human facet of every team member. The witty conversations, the barbing between the team mates, make it very easy to like these characters. It is incredibly fast paced; and once you get into the book, there are instances that will shock you, disgust you and make you smile, all the while rooting for these brave souls. Even though it is contemporary military fiction, the author has brilliantly blended fiction with scary reality at many levels which at times is difficult to separate.

This first book definitely makes it’s presence felt with a good storyline and excellent tactical execution.

With time running out and operating on minimal intelligence, which is unusual for this team – Will OS Wing be able to prevent India’s Biggest Nuclear Tragedy? Will one of their team members loose everything he holds dear as a result of his service to the Nation?

Lovers of Military Fiction looking for something different should most definitely give this one a try!

PS: Whilst the book is in English , it does use a few different languages in some places for authenticity , translations for which have been provided in the Glossary at the back and don’t miss a sneak peak at the next book in the Epilogue.

The Ghost chronicles series (Indian Army instead of the usual CIA or SIS) and is by far one of the most promising military series and I'm almost just as hooked on this series as I am on Baldacci or Grisham. Hinds' book keeps getting better and better. This book was amazing...very exciting, lots of plot twist and turns. Some I was able to guess...others I was not. I also appreciate how the author only includes what is needed for his story. Many authors throw in the obligatory love affair every single book....whether or not the plot or the personality calls for it. Hind includes it when it fits, and excludes it when it doesn't fit. I really like that about his writing. I'm not trying to sound like a commercial, but I have downloaded and read a LOT of newer authors' work and even purchased some sequels....but Jai Hind is one of my favorite "discoveries" of all. I will be waiting for the next one!

This was my first outing at reading military fiction ... I wanted to experiment with other genres and my brother seemed to be enjoying this one, so I thought I’d give it a go. I was surprisingly drawn into it and it kept me well engrossed. It’s quite a long book compared to what I usually read but now that I’m finished, I really didn't think it 'felt' long. It moves at a really fast pace and at certain places, you just can't help but jump into the next ‘chapter’. The language is very simple to follow even for non genre readers like myself.... Definitely surprised me and it was a good one.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book... Good Luck to this newbie author!

This story jumps right into the middle of a covert special operations outfit based out of India, full of action, entertainment and adventure right from the very beginning. The author manages to keep two separate threads going at a good pace.. This book and the subjects covered in it make it feel very realistic . it’s engaging from start to finish and creates an awesome template for future installments in the ‘Ghost wing chronicles’ series. I absolutely loved this book!

For a self published first book, I was skeptical but the promos and facebook ads got my attention, not to mention the awesome book cover :) .I was pleasantly surprised. The book draw me in. . The characters are very realistic , the action and tension very engaging. Look forward to the next instalment !
