2.5⭐ rounded to 3 .
may contain very slight spoilers.
my least favourite and a sad end

I hate leaving a less than good review but having red all the previous books in this series, this installment just didn't have the same vibe.
It was an effort to finish it. It was sickly sweet, tbh I actually felt like it was written by someone else or the author was in such a rush to get the series over she fluffed out the story outline. Grace had such potential and it fell flat. The Grace in this book didn't marry with the grace in previous books. The plot was non existent and Grace was just a whiny, often petulant omega. The family/mother plot line just dwindled into nothing, the stalker wasn't a stalker and resolved in a few pages. Absolutely nothing happened. It was repetitive, full of monologue and describing how perfect they were, however, the pack were all cookie cutter perfect cardboard cutout characters, we knew barely anything about them to build any attachments to them. So much could have been done with the Drew storyline. We knew nothing of the backstory other than her selfishness and he left, there's no elaboration on her previous life beyond surface level and what was in previous books.
The insta love was crazy. even moreso than usual omegaverse scent match insta love we read. Spice was filler and that was almost robotic. And ofc there's the prerequisite pregnancy from early on..
I'm not sure what happened with this book but Im a bit baffled by all the 5* reviews cos I'm not sure I'm reading the same book. Disappointed that this series ended with a fizzle.

Not quite the normal quality

As a stand alone book, this is pretty decent. If it was the first I read from this author I would be interested but not drooling for the other books. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your perspective, it isn't the first I've read from Jarica James and it doesn't quite hit the standard of others in the series, and this is the second recent book triggering this response from me.

I like Grace as the FMC, but I LOVED Grace as a side character. The guys are all good but slightly lacking in depth. I almost feel like the antagonist/conflicts required a much longer story to enable more character and relationship building. There's a lot going on with limited details for multiple topics.

We do get the sweet, sometimes sappy, guaranteed HEA and a sprinkle of humor. We also get a very very interesting Audrey; this woman has very little page time but a background that gives her solid next book potential.

Unfortunately the editing quality is also slightly lower than the author's norm as well. Nothing too extreme but a few dropped words and typos that had me stumbling in a couple places.

Overall it's still a book I would recommend but it's not the best example from this series, let alone the author's full work.

a decent read

A decent read, I am reading this book 5 first, and I can tell you - it wouldn’t have been enough of an overlap with the previous book 1-4 Omegas.

The beginning with the wedding was an interesting start. The introduction to the pack was interesting. I wish there had been more. The conflict was light while saying a bunch was going on but they just kept disengaging. At the wedding venue, there was an annoying woman, we never saw her again even though the personality read as someone that would be a nuisance. The evil aunt, cousins and the mom were said to be terrible, but we barely saw that and they never showed up again. There was no payout to what was happening.

We leave the venue in a huff and the thing that keeps the pack separated, nothing major happens. There’s no payout. There’s mention of blackmail but nothing happened. There’s mention of their new office and nothing happens. Suddenly the people giving them issues just suddenly stop??

We never discuss the media blowout even though we give it a lot of credence. Suddenly there’s a stalker at 80% … by 90% we wrap it up, and it amounted to nothing … and the lack of interest by the other characters means either this is just some random throwaway character or some character from a previous book or upcoming book … which is boring. It should’ve been the woman they got taken off their account for the wedding …

Ultimately nothing happens in this book. She doesn’t want to leave the small town, no real explanation- so she doesn’t. She is moderately maligned on the internet, but she doesn’t even get upset past A PARAGRAPH, why get upset at all?! This alpha affected her self worth for TEN YEARS, but we’ll forgive and forget immediately …

This was clearly a book meant to tie up loose ends of the series and had no interest in making them interesting.

Which is fine, if that’s what you’re in to.

If you are looking for a sweet Omegaverse then look no further because this is it. I loved every second of this book. Grace and her guys were just super cute and I loved them all. I loved seeing some familiar faces and I'm so glad Grace finally got her HEA.

I was so excited for this book. Grace is in the other books as a cute, cuddly, girly-girl. She's not ashamed of who she is, but she wants a pack of her own.  This didn't feel like her at all.  I hated the way this started out written in past tense, then switched between past and present tense all for scenes based on the present. Her pack wasn't endearing, and this book felt like the author settled for what she had just to get out of. I won't say don't pick it up, what bothers me may not bother you.  Happy reading!

DNF after 70%

I read this series back to back. The Grace in the other books was a completely different person. The Grace we were introduced to was perky, fun, and PINK. This Grace was so different that I just couldn't get into the story. It was distracting trying to keep thinking "but didn't she have blonde hair?" "Why would Hailey put her in purple?!" Also, why did her BILLIONAIRE pack have to leave her for 3 weeks when she was only a few hours drive away?! They couldn't drive to see her on the weekends? Cade the artist couldn't break away from corporate life he avoided to see her? If you have that kind of money, you can make things happen. They just stayed separated for 3 weeks with video calls and texts. Also, where was the spoiling during that time? They had the money and wanting to spoil her/her wanting to be spoiled did come up while at the resort. Yet when they are separated for weeks on end no gifts or special things to show her she is loved and thought of? Once the bites were done I just didn't care to finish. There were more things that happened that didn't make sense. I just feel like I went into this book excited to read Grace's story and got someone completely different. I loved Grace. I wanted to read her HEA, but this woman wasn't Grace. I really enjoyed this series until this book. I no longer have any interest in continuing the series if there are more.

I did enjoy this read. It's just not my favourite in the series.

We've caught glimpses of Grace since the beginning, sort of gotten to watch her grow up and I thought this series was finished with Wren's story so I was excited to get Grace's.

It just felt like everyone else got more attention to the backstory and storyline in theirs. Avery had the betrayal from her exes, Sidney couldn't smell so struggled to find her mates, Ori had her mate abandon her then she returned with a hire pack to sever the bond only they were also her mates, Wren's story was tied into Avery's in that she was drugged by Avery's previous pack and used which led to her omega going dormant.

In comparison, Grace's story feels completely smooth with only a few tiny bumps that are solved just as quickly as they appear. Despite her self-centred attention seeking mother and cousins and a random wedding planner having beef for no reason, this was drama free. The guys and Grace are all in from the get go, even though one of those guys left her for his career ten years prior.

All in all, it's very sweet/cozy with next to no drama. Grace and the guys have complete faith in one another and she gets the family she should have had.

Grace is helping plan her sister’s wedding and goes up a week prior to the wedding to set up with the help of her soon to be brother-in-law’s brother, Beck, who just so happens to be her new scent match.

In comes Spencer and Cade who are Beck’s packmates, friends and business partners, who are also her scent matches. The four of them spend the weekend together before spending the week ahead with Grace’s crazy family.

Only plans change and Grace’s sister and fiancé go to Italy to elope, leaving Grace to deal with the aftermath and the return of her fourth mate and ex, Drew.

First of all, accidental pregnancy trope! AHH! My favorite trope of all! I loved how Grace broke the news to the guys she was pregnant.

And not because I’m opposed to spice, I like how this book didn’t have a heat in it.

I loved how they bought an old firehouse and turned it into a home. I love that idea so much!
There’s the same amazing group of friends and found family within the Whitaker’s as there as been in the previous books and I love that Grace has that since her mom, aunt and cousins are crazy. There’s also a smidge of suspense thrown in that I enjoyed.

I read a lot.
I don't have very high standards, I read so much. Anything that catches my interest...I can pretty much get through.

And as a reader who reads a lot, if I find myself not caring about a character/s 25% in, and then again--with a push--at 45% in. I don't really think it's just me.

This book feels very surface level, which is so weird--because all the characterizations of her other books are so well developed and presented...so I dunno' what happened here.

The Grace in the previous book was so fun, not a pushover, but definitely friendly and loving and accepting and a little tmi. This Grace feels no nonsense. is more reserved, a fighter, and whiny in an extreme. Her pink also is only mentioned one time at 45% in. And she's the one who brings it up--and that's like...a huge part of her personality imo.

I dumno'.
This one's rough. I'm gonna' read something else because after a week and a half of making barely any headway on this book, I'm just not a fan.

Giving two additional stars:
One for lack of typos,
one for the author because she's soooo much better than this specific showing! Read her other books!~

Great read with lovable characters

*spoilers at end* This was a great read with lots of lovable characters including guest appearances from other books in the series. One of the things I love about Jarica’s books are the character depth and detail so you are engaged with them. This was a cute story in that lovely quaint small town setting. There is some ups and downs to keep it interesting.

The only con for me was that not everything was tied up smoothly and I felt some things were just thrown in or need more research / detail. For example what was the point or connection with the mean wedding planner early on - no real reason was given for her attitude, how did the stalker get the addresses or leave things at places etc - this plotline just didn’t all line up for me, how was the board managing to block them if they had majority share etc..

I did really enjoy this book, it just needed a little more time on the details and plotlines. Definitely worth a read though.

4.5 *

I’m usually not the person to enjoy an instalove story, but in this case it was done quite well. Perhaps the idyllic scene of a wedding venue has something to do with it, or just the fact that all these characters have been dreaming about finding their mate(s) for years… Also, with all the family drama Grace has to face in this book, you just can’t help it but wish her all the luck she can get. And finding some sexy rich pack mates can definitely count as luck!

There are a lot of similarities between this new standalone and the previous books in the series, so if you loved those I’m pretty sure you’ll love this one as well. It has the same sugary sweet pack vibes, an omega who has to build up trust again, protective men, small town vibe and spicy bedroom scenes. Perfect if you just want a moment to swoon about fictional men.

Talk About.... Secrets is the fifth book in the Rockwood Valley Omegaverse Series. It is a standalone, found family, fated mates, omegaverse, second chance, why choose, small town romance with a strong, stubborn omega and a sweet pack that loves her.

This was a sweet omegaverse romance read. I loved how Grace meets the guys, Beckett, Cade, and Spencer, who are a formed pack seeking their omega. I also loved them all getting thrown for a loop with the appearance of Drew. They definitely had some rocky times to transverse, and a major surprise too, but I adored how they came together and made things work.

The writing, flow, pace, and plot are awesome, as are the characters, character development, relationship development, storytelling, storyline, and world building.

I've really enjoyed all the books in this series and excited for what comes next.

this series has been so hit or miss for me that it almost feels like it was written by 2 different people.

Grace’s story felt so surface level on the relationships and story telling. a lot of telling and not showing. and the timeline of everything was so confusing. Grace made a comment about Spencer’s calming personality like she she’s known him for months instead of one day. also the stalker element felt it was just thrown in to add some sort of conflict without really any substance to it. i did like that there was 2 betas in the pack, which you don’t normally see.

MFMMM, 1st person multi POV
1 omega fmc, 2 alphas mmcs, 2 beta mmcs
scent matches, instalove, 2nd chance, surprise pregnancy, billionaire mmcs, ex pro football player mmc, small town, bonding/bite marks, no heat scene, interconnected standalone, HEA, epilogue

+ The way the sisters supported each other
+ Grace cutting off her family
+ Drew and his instant commitment

- Beckett, Spencer and Cade, especially Beckett, were more engaged with their work than Grace
- They also forgot about their promise to their assistant and never fired the Alpha that harrassed him
- The mentally ill Omega that stalker the pack felt a necessary evil to push the plot, not something that was thought out
- The cats were a nice detail, but they were quickly forgotten and then suddenly remembered ad got a room

Overall this book felt rushed and the plot was all over the place. Many things were forgotten or felt like an afterthought.

Surprise!! There’s another book in Rockwood Valley!

In this one we meet Grace and her sister is getting married so she’s planning the wedding. Problem? Her family is a bunch of twats. Surprise! Her scent match is the groom’s brother. In order to not upstage her sister and get this wedding done without a hitch, she wants to keep it a secret. Other problem? Her family is a bunch of twats that just can’t stop trying to be the center of attention. Surprise, her ex is in town for the wedding.

It’s just one thing after another and I truly enjoyed this story!

I love a surprise release and i'm even happier it's for Grace! I wasn't ready to let Rockwood Valley and the Whittaker clan go just yet.

This was funny, wholesome, and so much fun watching Grace stand up for herself while her men fall over their feet for her. I loved the mix of Alpha and Beta men in the group, and for an insta-love story it was perfect. Also loved it wasn't all about her going into heat.

I had a ball with this whole series and really am super sad it's over. But you have a fan for life and I will be reading whatever you write next!

a bit of a letdown

It had potential but never reached it. Characters fell flat. Things felt rushed. And it felt like the conflict was thrown in there for the sake of something just being there not because it was actually tied in or built in.

The book felt like the author was unprepared and had no real plan, then just never bothered to go back through and tie it all together.

Disappointed because I enjoyed the other books in this series and I was very much looking forward to Grace’s story.

Grace and her pack were adorable. This was a super sweet read with a surprise pregnancy twist (trigger warning applies). I love a supportive pack, and Grace has that in spades. She needs it with the family (mom) she has. She and the guys also have the found family of friends and community in Rockwood Valley, and it doesn’t get any better than that. Anyone who enjoys a nice omegaverse mix of beta/alpha/omega dynamics with strong found family vibes and instalove should definitely check this out!

A great addition

I was so excited when I heard about this book. I loved this series so much and really wanted Gracie to get her happily ever after. She was so selfless helping her sister and not wanting to take the spotlight. Their blood relatives were truly awful. The guys were so sweet though. This is a pretty fast paced book but given how the story goes, to me it makes sense. I enjoyed this. I really love Rockwood Valley.

Another great story in the Rockwood Valley series. Grace finally gets her own happy ending, and it was worth the wait! Grace finds her matches when she was least expecting them, and they help bolster her confidence to finally stand up to her family. They have to overcome some roadblocks while they figure out their new pack life, but they get there. It was sweet and spicy. Loved it!!!

Stoked that this was announched as I love this series so much. I love this one in particular as it is wedding season now and who doesn't love that. Now preparing her sisters wedding Grace doesn't want the spotlight on her at all. However the groom brother is her scentmatch and oh boy. This is so much fun to read. So much chaos and I'm here for it.

Good Read

This was another absolutely fabulous read. I absolutely love this series and Grace has been a character that I’ve liked for a while so I was happy to see her get her HEA. The story was great, I really enjoyed it and I also loved the characters. I would highly recommend giving this book a read.

It was about time that Grace found her happily ever after. She and her sister, Hailey, had such a toxic family and it was so heartwarming watching their found family buoy them i. times of need. aIt was so sweet watching Grace fall for her pack after watching her year. so desperately for a family of her own. I love Rockwood Valley and I hope we will get more in this small town series.

Perfect, light hearted omegaverse read!

If you are looking for a light-hearted read, (there is some drama!!!) you will love this book! We met Gracie in earlier series, and I love that she got her own book and happy ending! I love that Hailey was a part of the story, because it would not be complete without her! I could not put this look down!

Cute little story

This was a fast pace omega story and I loved every bit of it. I feel like it was fast but not liked rushed through too much that I couldnt grab all the details. But I will say maybe it could of went somewhere further with the stocker lady and maybe she could of been more of a threat than just the boxes 🤷🏽‍♀️ other than that I still enjoyed the book.

This was such a sweet book! I am so glad Grace got her story. She has so many issues with her family and wants to make her sisters wedding the best. But…. That all gets thrown out with her family drama, and finding her scent matches. She tries so hard to resist them and make sure her sisters day is special.

Once they have to leave, they have to go their separate ways. It was so heartbreaking for her especially with most of her pack not being with her. She develops a strong relationship with her one pack mate. There’s some drama thrown in there, a surprise pregnancy and it’s great! I loved how all in all the guys were it was amazing.

Good but...

I love this series sold the writing style of the author.
Grace was lovely, her men adorkable
The only thing I thought about the book was it felt more hurried than the rest.

Instead of a more indepth it was just springboarding from one thing to another
