Fleeing her homeland after it falls under martial law, Evey Constantine searches for the man who has the information she needs to reclaim her throne.
Her dead father’s instructions was simple and straightforward. Dealing with the man in question is anything but. Nightclub owner Griffin Tate is everything her father warned her he would be. Arrogant. Domineering. Ruthless. He is a man with a dark past and questionable loyalties.
Evey expected his indecent proposition the night they met. What she didn’t expect is for him to save her life or break through the shield around her heart.
Most of all, Evey didn’t count on Griffin showing her a side of him that has her thinking a dangerous thought. Is love worth giving up her crown?
I'm an author of paranormal and contemporary romances. Blessed or cursed, depending on my mood and where I'm at on my current WIP, my overactive imagination guides my muse.
A big fan of Firefly and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I incorporate various weapons in my paranormal romances and use out of this world names just because I can.

Evey's homeland is under martial law. In order to reclaim her throne she must travel to Atlanta to find the one man who has the information who can help her.
Griffin is a nightclub owner who is everything Evey's father warned her he would be. Arrogant, controlling, callous.
Evey did not expect for Griffin to save her life or to have feelings for him. Now she must choose between Griffin or her crown.
This novella was lacking for me. The storyline had potential, but it just wasn't fully developed. There were not enough details in the plot. We had to infer a lot of what happened between Rafe and Evey, to Evey's home country, and to Evey's father. I feel it would have been a much more interesting story had the author included these details. The main characters were very flat. They weren't very well developed. There is no spark or connection between Griffin and Evey at all. They meet then all of a sudden they are in love. When I'm reading a romance story I want to feel the connection between the characters and I didn't get that at all in this story. The writing in this novella, at times, was very irritating. Some sentences were written in ways that people just do not speak (i.e. either too formal or cut too short). This novella just fell short for me. It had great promise and a great idea, I just think it needed more pages to be fully written well.
Favorite Quote: "Living in fear of losing someone you care for isn't the way to live. Loving them as though it's your last day with them is."
I really liked the book and wished there was more of the story to read. Griffin, the male lead in the story, was immediately attracted to Evey, the female lead. There were circumstances that could have prevented them having a long life together. This book would be more suited to female adults due to sexual language.
Ku Talk about short story man this one moved fast. Every event was immediately followed by another it was just too much. Not a huge fan of this one. Read on kindle unlimited
