Winterset

Rate this book
A hidden past. A house with secrets. And one chance for two wounded hearts to find love together.

Northern England, Late Fall, 1820

Katherine Lockwood is hiding for her life in the most unlikely of the forgotten priest holes in the abandoned Winterset Grange Manor House. When Kate learns that Winterset’s long-absent owner, Mr. Oliver Jennings, is about to return, she is desperate to find a way to make him leave, even if it means “haunting” him from behind her protective walls.

After a grand tour of the Continent, Oliver returns home to England determined to make the most of his inheritance. But from the moment he arrives, nothing is as he expected. His manor is in disrepair, the steward hired to care for his estate is a thief, and to top it all off, Winterset is haunted. Undeterred, Oliver resolves to reclaim his life, piece by piece.

When Oliver discovers the hidden rooms, he’s shocked and pleased that his “ghost” is actually a beautiful young woman. Captivated by Kate and her story, he invites her to stay at Winterset under his protection.

Yet danger persists as the man who threatens Kate’s safety learns of her ruse and attempts to exact his revenge. Kate and Oliver find themselves ensnared in a perilous game of cat and mouse against a powerful opponent while also trying to untangle their blossoming feelings in this enthralling gothic Regency romance.

Winterset is the sequel we have all been waiting for and IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! Oh Ollie, I’m so glad to finally have your story! Oliver was a bit rakish and a fortune hunter in Summerhaven, but by the end I liked him. In Winterset, he has seen the error of his ways and takes responsibility. I loved him so much! He is so kind and thoughtful! Kate has taken up residence, actually hiding, at Winterset. When Oliver unexpectedly shows up to claim his estate, she has to keep hidden. The two servants are in on it and they try to keep Kate a secret by doing everything they can to make Oliver want to leave. Which is quite fun. Kate has faked her death and is hiding from a man who was after her. When Kate is finally found out, she and Oliver become friends and then of course more. I loved their relationship. Especially that first kiss! I also loved that Damon and Hannah are in this book as well! Overall, a fantastic story and I definitely recommend!

"It doesn't matter if young ladies look at me. I am only looking at you."

Winterset by Tiffany Odekirk

How can I put into words how much I loved Ollie and Kate's story? I just simply can't! Their story is just so adorable, beautiful, and just perfect in every way, in my opinion.
I seriously couldn't read it fast enough, but also I didn't want it to end. I found myself swooning, laughing, getting emotional, and feeling all of the feels with this one!
All the stars and hearts for this story!

I loved how Oliver got his redemption story and that Kate helped him see the best parts of himself. And that she helped him in so many ways; I won't mention them because that would spoil the book.

Kate's antics in the beginning had me laughing out loud. She is quite the feisty, spit-fire and I just loved her so much. Especially when she tries to tell herself she doesn't think Oliver is handsome. Haha!

I also loved the side characters--Mrs. Owensby, Bexley, and Charlie. Such a great cast of characters. And we even get cameos of Damon, Hannah, and Lady Winfield. I just loved Hannah even more in this book.

Do you see my list of favorite parts below? Yeah, there are a lot of them and I could have listed more. Just know you want to go in blind to this one after reading Summerhaven CE, so I won't say anything else. Except that I loved it sooo much, you should read this beautiful story as soon as the book releases, and I look forward to ANYTHING Tiffany writes. Planning to read her contemporaries next.

Favorite Parts:
Meet cute
Redemption
Gothic mansion
Haunting
Kate and Ollie together are the cutest
She tends his wound
Surprise parts
Walled garden
She paints and draws on unusual things
Their beautiful chemistry
Repairing Winterset
Before and after Ghost-story reading
Cravat
He works in the rain scene
Tieing on masks
The ball and their plan
Namesake
During the storm
The ending
Epilogue
The Whole Book for goodness' sake!

After finishing Summerhaven, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect of Winterset, but I knew whatever the story told, I would love it—and love it I did 🤭 This book was filled with the perfect amounts of amusement, sentiment, and romance—making it a very entertaining story that is sure to captivate many an audience!

The characters in this story immediately won me over and filled my heart with their charm and, at times, their hilarity. The ploy by Kate and the servants to get Oliver to vacate his own home was endlessly amusing and made for a vastly entertaining plot. I loved how dearly devoted Mrs. Owensby and Bexley were to Kate—doing everything in their power to keep her safe.

Kate made for such a delightful FMC, and I instantly fell in love with her vivacious personality! Watching her slowly lose her heart to Oliver, against her best intentions, was immensely enjoyable. The way Oliver, in turn, took care of Kate melted my heart right into a puddle 🫠 This truly was such a beautiful story!

Tiffany Odekirk did a wonderful job at redeeming Oliver’s character in this story. After Summerhaven, I was not overly fond of him, but Tiffany worked her magic, and before I knew it, Oliver had wormed his way into my heart! His true disposition really shone through in this beautiful story of love, reconciliation, and perseverance ♥️

Oh my word, what a ride! I read Summerhaven this spring and was highly anticipating Oliver’s story—it was more than I could have imagined. This is a beautiful story of tearing down walls, personal growth, and what it means to sacrifice for those you love. There is so much depth to Kate and Oliver’s story with plenty of humor and a brilliant helping of romantic tension sprinkled all along the way. I cried, I laughed, I held my breath in suspense, and I stayed up way too late reading because I just couldn’t put this book down.

*You do not have to read Summerhaven first, but it definitely adds to the experience.

I absolutely LOVED Oliver and Kate's story! It’s such a unique read, and I really enjoyed seeing another side of Oliver’s character especially after getting to know him in Summerhaven. This book was the perfect follow-up! It has everything: enemies to lovers, hidden identity, forced proximity, and even a touch of suspense. And the romantic tension? WOW!

Kate has been living at Winterset since her father's passing. The estate’s actual owner never came to claim it, so she’s been hiding there, with the world believing she’s dead after faking her death to stay safe. But when Oliver, the true owner, shows up to take possession of the estate, Kate is determined to scare him off so she can keep her secret. When that doesn’t work, she realizes she’ll need to trust Oliver to help protect her and keep her secret safe. But as her past starts catching up with her and secrets get out...the future for Kate and Oliver starts to look uncertain...

This story was the perfect follow-up to Summerhaven! Kate is hiding from danger, while Oliver is running from his own past, and the family he believes never accepted him. Winterset becomes a safe haven for both of them, but as dangers intensifies around them, it’s clear that their safety may depend more on each other than the Winterhaven estate. The emotional rollercoaster between them was amazing. And I loved the side characters and the use of previous characters in this book as well. Totally a 5 star read for me. Well done!

I received a complimentary copy, and this review reflects my honest opinion.

I have been waiting for Oliver’s redemption story and I loved seeing his journey. He truly showed up in making the best of the situations before him and how he approached and took his time with Kate to show her what she meant to him. There were many sweet moments between the two and I was so happy to finally have them meet and interact.

I loved the setting. All of the hidden passageways and nooks added a fun element and led to a bit of chaos. For such a small cast I hardly noticed because the side characters were great to be around.

Seeing Oliver get a chance to reconnect with Damon and Hannah were some of my favorite scenes. I have been begging for those moments and that peace was felt between them. I enjoyed Kate a lot too. She and Oliver matched well in their personalities and I loved the soft nature between them.

Overall audience notes:
- Historical Romance
- Language: none
- Romance: kisses
- Violence: mild
- Content warnings: gun violence, loss of loved ones (recounted), kidnapping

When I read Summerhaven I was smitten! This sequel, Winterset is a close second! You will find lots of intrigue, mystery, and peril in this story. But there is also humor, love, trust, loyalty and forgiveness.

What a fun story! Kate had to fake her death to escape the murderous clutches of her ex-fiancé. She spent two years never leaving Winterset to avoid being found out. When the owner, Oliver, unexpectedly returns she’s worried. With the help of her two loyal servants they do everything they can to make his stay unpleasant and drive him away. Their efforts include burned meals, uncomfortable accommodations, unexplained happenings and even ghostly apparitions.

This is a beautiful story that will have you laughing out loud, and swooning in bliss. It is not without its adventure, though as the characters must somehow stop the villain in his nefarious plot. I highly recommend reading it.

Ahh! Winterset was the perfect sequel to Summerhaven! Katherine (Kate) Lockwood has called Winterset home for as long as she can remember! And the last 2 years it has been a refuge as well as a home after faking her own death to avoid a marriage contract with the dastardly Lord Markham. When she finds out Oliver, the air to Winterset, is returning home to live in the estate, she decides she must do what she can to get rid of him by pretending it is haunted!

This was such a fun and unique story! I loved the “haunted house“ antics and pranks that key used against Oliver! Winterset was the perfect place for such a ruse with all of its priest hides and Kate’s knowledge of every square inch! I loved Bexley and Mrs. Owensby and how they cared for and protected Kate—and went along with her antics! Oliver was so cute! I loved how smitten he was with Kate just from her painting, and when he saw her as a “ghost!” I loved his protective nature and the relationship that he and Kate formed!

You’re going to love this sweet, swoony, and suspenseful story!!

“there were so many frigid faces staring at me that it felt as though the walls had eyes.” 📚☕

Technical rating = 3.75 stars🌟

The premise of a beautiful, artistically-talented young woman hiding out in an abandoned manor in the wilds of Northern England in late Autumn of 1820.

Yes, please.

That this manor is ancient, hides away historical secrets like priest holes that said woman decides to hide in when a handsome new heir shows up. Then tries to “haunt” him to get him to leave (like all the good nostalgic-spooky shows/cartoons).

Oh, my goodness, yes!

Once into the story, said handsome heir doesn’t take the “haunting” and tuck tail. He turns the tables on her. Pranks on her ensue.

So fun!!!

I literally laughed out loud at the antics of both the main female and male character - mostly hers.

BUT THEN, MMC started doing really dumb things:
(goes to tavern and gets obscenely drunk, hurts himself, tells strangers all his beeswax, doesn’t know how to say no to strangers, kind of leads on a young woman), and we learn difficult romantic past of FMC (non-intimate abuse to her).

Oh well.

I was in love with the first 50% of the book. In love! I was invested with both characters and their backstories.

But when our 'hero' started making odd choices, the plot got super serious, and the over-the-top peril began, I was furrowing my brow.

Don't get me wrong, it's good writing. I appreciate the clean romance. But didn't adore the second half.

Oh, the conundrum of how to rate it.

It's so close to a four star but not quite, hence the 3.75.

Side note -> I didn't know this was a continuation of a storyline of the author's previous book, Summerhaven. I would have read that one first if I had known.

What I loved:

✨Clean romance
✨Gothic regency vibes
✨Ancient manor is like one of the characters
✨ Fabulous side characters
✨Not too long

Triggers: light, semi-detailed physical abuse, gun violence, mental health/asylum talk, one man dying in a duel (not detailed)

Oh my HEART!!! This book is wonderful! A beautiful story between two hearts that need hope and healing. And Winterset is the perfect estate for that to happen at. If you have read Summerhaven then you'll have met Oliver and know a little of his family history. I'm with all of the other readers who were beyond excited that Oliver was getting his own story!!! Woohoo!!! He's been on a long tour of the continent before coming to Winterset to live in his inherited estate. But what he doesn't expect is to discover that it has not been kept up by his steward and in addition to that, he has a ghost to vanquish... or learn to tolerate and live with.

Katherine Lockwood has been in hiding to protect herself. No one, except the servants, can know of her existence, otherwise she can forfeit her life. Ohhh, this was such a delightful story! I loved every moment of it! Kate was a spitfire character, but she definitely needed to be to keep herself safe.

All of the ghost interactions had me giggling. And then I loved when Oliver made some discoveries. Then I was giggling even more! And then I was swooning and sighing! *Happy Sigh* Oh my heart! You're going to love this one so much!

The danger hasn't past for Kate. She's in even more danger now. She and Oliver and the servants will do anything to protect her.

I loved how this all came full circle for these characters! If you haven't read Summerhaven, go do so! You'll love it! You can read this book without reading it, but it's definitely worth reading it just to enjoy another incredible book. But there's stuff that you'll love even more with this book if you have read it!

Content: Clean. Some moments of mild peril and suspense.

I received a copy from the publisher, Shadow Mountain Publishing, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

When I heard that there was going to be a sequel to Summerhaven, I knew it would be AMAZING, and I wasn't disappointed at all. I didn't know it was possible, but I love this one even more than Summerhaven! This book put a whole new perspective on Oliver, and he completely has my heart now. 🩷

Kate is the perfect match for him, and shaped the new Oliver I now love, who he is. She made him stronger and mended a brother relationship. She showed him a new perspective on life. How amazing you can make it, even coming from someone who faked their death, and now lives behind walls.

I really felt every emotion for this book, and it's definitely a new favorite! If you enjoy a clean, closed-door Regency romance full of gothic vibes and slow burn romance, I highly recommend this one!

I had the best time reading this sweet romance.

For the first time in what feels like forever, I actually looked forward to picking up a book to read without quickly putting it down in favor of another activity.

The romance is sweet, the family drama is heartbreaking, the villain is absolutely dastardly.

There were a few things that happened too coincidentally, but that is a minor quibble.

There's a ghost story element to this that is really fun and that would make this a good story to read in October.

I have not read Summerhaven, but that did not affect my enjoyment of this story. I hope to read it soon.

Thanks to the publisher for an advanced copy of this book. Publishes 10/7/25.

I absolutely adored this book! I liked it even better than the first one, Summerhaven. You don’t have to read Summerhaven before reading Winterset as this novel can stand on its own; however, Winterset does spoil the ending of Summerhaven, so if you are planning on reading that book, it’s best to do it first.

Oliver returns to the estate of Winterset after many years to find it derelict and the grounds overrun with weeds and ivy. Only two servants remain.

Kate has been hiding inside the walls of Winterset for a couple of years ever since her father was murdered and she began to fear for her own life.

When Oliver moves in, Kate is determined to make his life as miserable as possible so he will leave and she can go on hiding there. Oliver, on the other hand, is determined to renovate the estate and vanquish the ghost of a girl that he is certain lives in the house.

I loved reading this book and seeing all the ways Kate tormented Oliver before they met. And I loved even more experiencing their interactions after they met.

Kate spends her time during the first half of the book hiding in priest holes and secret passageways within the walls of the house. I didn’t know what priest holes were prior to reading this novel, but it was very interesting to learn about them: they were where Catholic priests hid from priest hunters when practicing Catholicism was illegal in the late 1500s. I enjoyed learning about this bit of history. I also love the magical nature of hidden rooms and a secret door in the bookshelf, so this aspect of the book was really neat to me.

Kate and Oliver have such a cute and swoony romance that is written cleanly, which I loved! I need to read more books in the Proper Romance imprint because they are all clean, which I really appreciate.

If you are looking for a Regency romance featuring a mischievous female lead, secret hideaways, a “touch her and die” male lead, and a clean kissing-only romance, look no further. This was only my secret historical romance (the first being Summerhaven by the same author), but I know I’ll be returning for more because I had such a fun time reading this book.

This was such a fun read. I loved Oliver and Kate’s story! It made me laugh out loud at the funny pranks. I wasn’t a big fan of Oliver in Summerhaven but reading this book made me change my mind about him. Kate had a tough past but I liked that she is spunky and full of life even with her challenges. Their chemistry was good and it was fun to see the characters from the first novel make a reappearance. Overall a great regency novel!

Two years after his brother and best friend are married, Oliver is still feeling lost and has completely isolated himself from his family. After extensive travel, he finally decides it is time to move to Winterset, the estate he has inherited through his Mother’s side of the family that has been let for many years. For her own safety, Kate is stuck at Winterset and although it’s the home she’s always known and loved, she longs for her freedom again. When her security is threatened by Oliver’s arrival, she is forced to hide, hoping to scare him away again. Oliver is determined to prove himself capable of managing his new estate, but finds Kate not a force with which to be easily reckoned. Ultimately, both Kate and Oliver must face their past if they are to overcome and find happiness in their future.

Winterset made for an atmospheric read. I enjoyed learning more about English history and the priest hides found in old English estates. I had never read about this part of English history in a regency romance story before and it added a layer to the story that I enjoyed. While I wish Oliver and Kates’ romance had been more developed to feel less like instalove, I found the historical aspects of the book to be fun and unique. I recommend this book to readers who appreciate English history, are excited to revisit the characters from Summerhaven, and who enjoy a strong willed heroine!

Summerhaven: 5⭐️!!!
Winterset: 3.5 ⭐️ (alas)

This anticipated sequel had such a promising premise—a woman who faked her death then attempts to haunt the returning master of Winterset in order to drive him away—with some cute moments besides. But ultimately it didn’t live up to the gold standard of our beloved Summerhaven. 😭 With a bit more editing Oliver and Kate’s story could have been so good! Unfortunately there were some social customs that were bent too far, I lost track of the amount of times a duplicate word was used in the same sentence or the sentence right after, there were some glaring plot holes (Kate could easily have acted like a housemaid from the beginning, though we would have missed out on the ghost shenanigans), and there was a lot more telling than showing.

But I was still feeling 4 stars because despite all that it was FUN & I had grand time staying up late reading it. That is, until something shifted in the last third of the book and it deteriorated into a soap opera. 🤨

*The villain is a straight up bad guy with no nuance. Picture a guy with mustache rubbing his hands together and laughing maniacally.

*Everyone suddenly gets insecure and jealous.
“I was so incredibly jealous, my stomach hurt.”

*Oh, by the way we’re having a masquerade ball even though a villain is on his way and is probably here. Let’s all put masks on and forget about him.

*Cheesy Hallmark lines abound.

“I tried not to notice how the muscles in his arms bunched and flexed, but it could not be helped. I knew I should look away, but his arms were just . . . so . . . admirable in those thin shirt sleeves.” 🙄

“I love you," she said again and again and again.
"I. Love. You. Too," I ground out.

"How soon can we marry without causing a scandal?"
"Oh, darling. We have already caused the scandal of the century. I daresay there is not anything we could do to surpass it."

Blood “spurts like a fountain” and all the climactic antics border on the ridiculous. Including a man using a handbag to knock someone out.

Sooo, all that aside, I still had fun with the first part of Winterset & I loved the antics of Kate trying to spook Oliver and the bit of tension they had when he discovered her secret. 3.5 ⭐️ If you do read this, I’d read it for that & for the fun of seeing beloved characters again & a happy ending.

Summerhaven remains firmly on my all-time favorites shelf. If you haven’t read that one yet, you’re in for a swoony treat.

Audio: best to read this one instead

Content: kisses only, some violence with brief depictions of blood, loss of a parent, some trauma from a previous assault

My Thoughts:
While Summerhaven was good, Winterset was spectacular! This book had everything: teasing, cat and mouse chases, swoony kisses, danger and suspense, angst, redemption, reunions, and so much more! I felt so many emotions while reading this, and I loved every minute.
Oliver was not my favorite character in Summerhaven. This book gave him redemption. Much like Kate, I was instantly enamored with Oliver's willingness to make the best of his arrival at Winterset and how he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. As the book went on, I completely fell in love with Oliver. The way he cared for Kate was so sweet and tender. And I felt his every emotion as he realized the depth of his feelings. He did everything right when it came to making Kate feel safe and loved.
I adored Kate just as much as Oliver. She was witty and clever, as well as creative and thoughtful. I felt her pain as she revealed all she had been through and how she so desperately wanted to have a happy future. Seeing her open up to Oliver was just beautiful. The moment she referred to him as "my Oliver" undid me.
I can't recommend this one enough. Tiffany Odekirk outdid herself with Winterset, and historical romance readers are sure to love it.
Thank you Netgalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

4.5 stars! I loved this regency romance. And I think it is perfect that it is being released in October. It has just the right amount of spooky vibes! Oliver was a little hard to like after reading Summerhaven but he definitely won me over in Winterset! I absolutely loved Kate and her silly pranks and lovely artwork. Throw in a bad guy that is so easy to hate and some suspenseful danger and this was a wonderful romance book!

If you’ve read "Summerhaven," you might remember Oliver Jennings as the fun-loving and a bit carefree younger brother of the main character. Well, "Winterset" picks up two years later, and I must say, it was such an enjoyable read—I couldn’t put it down! The twists, turns, and romance had me completely hooked. Oliver and Kate’s story was such a delight! I found myself laughing out loud at their hilarious pranks. It was sweet how Oliver was drawn to Kate by just a portrait of her before they even met. Their chemistry was electric! Plus, it was great to see familiar faces from the first book pop up again. I really loved this series and can’t recommend it enough!

I was gracious enough to receive an advanced copy of this novel via NetGalley through the publisher (Shadow Mountain Publishing) in exchange for an honest review. As a frequent reader of proper romance and regency novels, I was hooked and blown away by this story. I would rank this up there with Tiffany’s other novels (all page turners) and I would even place this one as high as Donaldson’s beloved Edenbrooke. This novel is a must read for your fall reading As the spooky setting and hidden passageways of Winterset ooze perfection for all the cozy feels. The connection between Oliver and Kate is instantaneous, before they even meet, and you find yourself rooting for their friendship while they were still enemies. This novel is clean and safe for all readers… minimal cheese with all the proper romance…. and a perfect one to recommend to my students. 10/10 recommend. Friends you need this story in your life!

I loved this story! The storyline is completely compelling and Kate and Oliver are wonderful. I will confess to not reading its predacessor yet but I will be reading Summerhaven as soon as I can. “Winterset” is pure Gothic and Regency perfection! I will be handing this one off to my mama (a fellow Regency lover) immediately!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

••I give 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

~A hidden past. A house with secrets. And one chance die recounted hearts to find love together…

“You cannot become who you are meant to be by living in the shadows.”

-Set in Northern England, Late Fall 1820, is the beautiful historical story, WINTERSET. I would greatly recommending reading this dear story AFTER reading Summerhaven so you completely understand the beauty and depth to this dear story, because it has the dear ability to continue to wrap its self around your heart strings, as the way to love comes about after time and unusual paths. This is a dear tale weaved with such endearing and loveable characters, delightful banter, all the feels, and a beautiful, but tragic romance. You will be held captive by the twists and turns of this plot and be hopeful as characters will fight for a future that they never expected as danger lurkes ever so close. Watching dear characters work together to outwit a powerful enemy and navigate the great risks of trust, love, and even survival against all odds had my heart. Beautiful themes of love, sacrifice, resilience, truth, honor, freedom reconciliation, redemption, and peace are found within. My friends, this dear story by Tiffany is a treasure! Worth the read, absolutely!📚💯❤️

“You have be, love. Every beat of my heart, every breath of my lungs belongs to you. I am yours.”

•Content: Attempted assault (off-page/in past), some blood, duels, mild peril/danger, fake death, some drinking, family estrangement, loss, grief, some anxiety, no language; kisses only. Clean-Closed door!

“Winterset needed me, and I needed Winterset.”

-I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

Oliver freakin Jennings!! 😍😍 We weren’t sure about you in book 1, but then you went and “totally redeemed yourself!!” (Anyone catch the reference?! Where my movie quoters at?! 😆) But seriously, this book was everything I hoped it would be and more.

I was seriously loving the Ghost story throughout the first part of the story. It made me just giggle, and I loved the little pranks Kate played on him. She was such a stinker but I couldn’t help but smile. And then when he found out, he had to get back at her a little, which was perfection. 😁

Then we got some Beauty and the Beast vibes, and I LOVE Beauty and the Beast!! Another giant smile from me!

Their love story was so sweet and romantic, and I loved how protective he was of her. His willingness to risk it all to make her happy, to save her, had me in a puddle. 🫠🫠

I loved Summerhaven and now I really love Winterset too!! @authortiffanyodekirk you have a lifelong fan in me, always!!!!! Your books are too dang good!!

This book is available now so seriously, don’t miss out!!!! Thank you to Tiffany and @properromanceseries and @shadowmountainpub for the advance copy. All love and gushing is freely given.

Oh. My. Friends. I do not have the words to describe how much I absolutely adore this read! Winterset has a perfect feel for a fall read! (Let’s be honest, it can be read and adored any time of year, fall is just the BEST time to read it)

It has intrigue. It has imperfect characters. It has loyal servants. It has wit. It has love. It has my heart!

What did I love? Ollie’s growth. Kate’s strength. Damon’s openness. Charlie’s cheek. Hannah’s tenderness.

I could go on and on about this gem of a story! It has easily become one of my favorite historical romances! The Swoony moments are perfect!

I don’t want to give any more away. So I will finish with, if you’re considering reading it: stop considering and just do it! You won’t regret it!

Read this book if you like:
🎹 Sketching Flowers
🎹 World Tours
🎹 Missing Stewards
🎹 Ghosts
🎹 Reading Letters
🎹 Masquerades
🎹 Secret Passages
🎹 Loyal Servants
🎹 True Love

Content: family estrangement, mild peril/danger, brief mention of memory of attempted ass@ult (off-page), dueling, romance- kisses only.

A huge thank you to Tiffany Odekirk, Shadow Mountain Publishing, and Proper Romance for the #gifted copy; all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Winterset and Oliver’s happily ever after was well worth the wait! This story was everything Summerhaven fans could have wished for.

Kate was a formidable heroine, who wouldn’t sit by idling while her home was to be taken from her by the unworthy Winterset heir. She really gives Oliver a haunting welcome.

Oliver, on the other hand, has grown from the carefree young man we saw in Summerhaven. He still hasn’t forgiven his brother for all the wrongs he feels were committed against him but he endeavored to put the past behind him and start a new life at Winterset.

Winterset holds many secrets and surprises when he arrives. But he is determined to solve the mystery and keep his mind off the stunning ghost of Kate Lockwood.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Kate and Oliver were positively wonderful.

Thank you Shadow Mountain and NetGalley for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Tiffany Odekirk has done it again!! Summerhaven is one of my favourites and I loved this almost as much!

The first 50% of this book was a 4⭐️ for me but the last 50% was 5⭐️!

I felt like the “hidden identity” went on a bit long and I felt bad for the MMC a few times.

But how I loved Oliver and Kate!!

🌻roommates
🌻strangers-to-friends-to-lovers
