This one made me so happy to start with. I was on top of a cloud and I was so into the book that I had no clue that the author was going to toss the inevitable trouble at the reader. Then I was feeling it. I knew that something was coming. Our boys Zane and Brant were acting off. Even during the ceremony they were being silly and they were trying to get Tanya to doubt--to reconsider. If I was here I would've looked at both of them then and been like, "Um... wtf!" But she was in the moment, getting married/mated, and I get it! Then WHAMO! I cried... I was so hurt for her and I wanted to snatch her up and allow her to cry in my arms because she was totally justified in being as upset as she was. They don't get it. Well, I think Zane does get it but he was wrapped up in the whole 'Being the last one standing thing' and, le sigh... I'm jumping right into the final book now, its really late but I need to know what's going on like NOW!

Wild Heat is the fifth enticing book in the Chosen By The Vampire Kings series. I am in love this amazing paranormal romantic series.
With smoking hot dominant alpha males in all shapes and sizes with Ménage à trois, MFM love triangle, Vampires, Shifters, and Elves. It is erotic, sexy, sizzling, and everything to burn the sheets and everywhere else in between.
This original storyline has two smoking hot vampires Kings, mortal enemies who want the same thing. These men are ruthless, vicious, power players, and violent. They love hard and fast, with their whole heart. They love these incredible sassy, sexy, strong females that own them. The chemistry is off the charts and then some more.
This captivating excellently woven tale sees a tangled web of lies, deceit, suspense, drama and love. The characters each have their own voice in this series. I love that we get their POV because we get a feel for who they are.
There is lots of action, danger and war around every corner but given all that there are plenty of witty moments and humour that will have you laughing out loud. Zane and Becky crack me up and Tanya gets her vampire sandwich.

Part 5 of 6
As the mating ceremony draws closer can Brant and Zane really work out their differences and put their egos behind them for Tanya's sake.
Tanya is pregnant but has no idea which of two is the father, not that it really matters if they're going to be joined as one.
Stephany is still not back but it seems Lance is finally coming to his senses but it could be too little too late, we'll have to see.
Esral is realising that her life may not be as bleak as she thought and if Tanya is to be believed she actually has a say in her future.
So with Tanya pregnant, Stephany on her way home and Esral coming to terms with her life with the vampires all eyes turn to the mating ceremony.
Enjoyable read now onto the final book.

Ugh Becky. What a annoying character. They act like they're in high school or maybe early 20s with the way she and Tanya talk to each other or around each other.
I'm just not feeling the connection between any of the characters. It's all surface. No depth.

SO FREAKIN FANG-TASTIC! Great balls of fire! I am so in love with this series! Ms. Hartnady continues the magical journey of this series with Red Lust, the fifth installment and it just gets better and better! This is, hands down, one of the best series I've ever read. Exciting! Action Packed! Fast Paced! Smart! Original! Suspenseful! Powerful! Gripping! Riveting! Thrilling! Addictive! Captivating! Funny! Endearing! Arousing! Romantic! Sexy! Steamy! And did I say hot? Oh yeah! This story has it all. Ms. Hartnady has once again demonstrated her exceptional writing ability and talent by delivering a masterpiece of wonder, thrill and entertainment. Both the story and dialog flow beautifully, twisting and turning with surprise elements at each turn. Such a delight! The characters are well developed, intriguing and engaging. They come to life and jump off the page while teasing and enticing your imagination. The story enthralls you with its magic and fantasy. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Such a wild and wonderful ride! Two handsome, sexy, alpha vampire kings, Zane and Brant, totally different but both desirable-each longing to make the same human woman their mate and queen. Beautiful, sassy human, Tanya, now pregnant and torn between love for both men. Will Zane and Brant make it through the mating ceremony without killing each other? And which of her lovers is the father of her baby? And can she love either if they try to destroy each other? Then, throw in a nympho best friend who wants to have sex with every vampire in sight and a beautiful elven princess given by her Father to the Vampire Kings and oh my! What a recipe for disaster! Wonderful cast of amazing characters-check! Mystery, suspense, romance and steamy sex-check, check, check and check!!! That and a whole lot more, in spades! Oh yeah! This is the fifth installment in this series so it is not a stand alone book. Do yourself a solid and read them all. But I just love serials. The anticipation and excitement created by each installment is like having great sex with a blindfold! And then you can't wait to do it again! Hubba! Hubba! I can hardly wait to read the next and final installment!

Still loving this serial and Tanya's two royal beefcakes, who are growing more possessive by the minute.
Always more than willing to please their little human, even though the annoying rival always seems to be in their way. I must say that I personally prefer Zane in Red Lust. Having never witnessed true from his dysfunctional parents growing up, he's amazingly tolerant and supportive of her unconventional arrangement. Brant is a little over the top for me in this one.
Loved the side stories as well, both Xavier's little elf problem and Stephany's lust for vampires - and their lust for her. Ross and Griffin's obvious attraction to the enticing human has me rooting for Ross's petition to to rut with humans. (If only they would change the name) Stephany seems perfectly suited for the virile vamp guards, except for her human breakability, of course.
I'm detracting one star because the wolf situation, which seemed to be a big deal in the last novella, just like the elf situation before it. Then, all of a sudden and without much explanation, the issue is resolved, just like that. Also, Zane and Brant suddenly seem to forget that they need both Kings to mate and reproduce to ensure the future and stability of the two covens. On the plus side, their lustful *taught* gazes are finally gone. Let's hope it stays that way!

Okay so let me start this review off by saying- I received an ARC of this book for an honest review!
Now on to the good part....I ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY LOVED PART 5 OF THIS SERIES!!
I read a LOT of series and stand alone books, and this is definitely one of my favorites!
Tanya is just about to tell Zane and Brant some FANTASTIC news! They take it well and you think everything is GREAT, and then Mrs. Hartnady rips your little heart to shreds. (In a good way of course :P )
The story flows well through out this entire series and has continued to do so in Part 5: Red Lust. I have a deep seated interest and love for Tanya, Zane, Brant, Xavier, Stephany, and all the others! The books are extremely easy to get into and read! There are little to no grammatical errors which is a big deal for me when reading a book!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU READ THIS BOOK! It has honestly been one of my favorite shorter reads, and it is entirely worth the $.99!! :)

I actually read through the Part 1-4 just so I could review this ARC. I was already a fan of the Demon Chaser series and I had this one sitting on my To-Read shelf for a month or so. I was not disappointed. Charlene Hartnady's stories are short but always packed to the brim with thrills, action and romance. Looking forward to the finale Part 6

You just knew that Brant and Zane would mess up. They go through with the mating but agree behind Tanya's back to fight to the death. The elf princess has decided she wants Xavier but they are doing the dance of dislike. I really hope that the law against other vampires mating with humans is abolished.

Amazing book
This book was amazing. I stayed up all reading because I couldn't wait for the next day to finish it. It just getting better and better. Anxious to see if Brant and Zane, will work together or lose their queen! I'm so ready for the last part.

Red Lust is the fifth instalment of Chosen By The Vampire Kings by Charlene Hartnady.
This is an incredibly good paranormal romance, with wonderful originality, Vampires, Elves, Shifters, a love triangle, Ménage (MFM), suspense, danger, action, adventure, some angst, and a bit of drama. All added together made this an intriguing, HOT, sexy, erotic, and captivating read.
The characters are all really well developed- with their own individual personalities, quirks, and flaws. The chemistry between them was electrifying! But that’s not all that made this such a great read- because the story is really well woven too, with an intensity I never expected. There was a little humour, and plenty of emotion too- which helped to balance the sexy, dramatic, and suspenseful elements. We get to hear from all three main players, and this made the story even more intense and intriguing.
This isn’t just a sexy love triangle, where two vampires compete for their chosen female- there is so much more going on. This is a war of species, with unusual alliances, hidden agendas, power plays, tenuous truces, ruthlessness, violence, danger, choices, being hunted, hope, reconciliation, unity, heartache, health scares, miracles, and so much more.
If you love paranormal romance, sizzling storylines, love triangles/ménages, wonderful characters, dominant alpha male types, feisty stubborn leading ladies, vampires, action, and suspense- all wrapped up in with wonderful emotional elements, then this is definitely a story you won’t want to miss out on!

It seems like the three of them could really do it and be together, but to me it seems like brants hard head had gotten in the way. Zane has been a gentlemen and thought of Tanya and Brant but Damn that hot vampire Brant. Tanya is pregnant and is in love with both of them; and also doesn't know which mate got her pregnant, she is looking forward to the mating ceremony just like a wedding day, She is in love with both of them and who can blame her. Even when the elf king gave Zane his daughter to mate with Tanya saw the hurt in the elves eyes when she found out that she will not be mating with Zane or Brant, because of elves customers she feels defective and unwanted. Tanya is such a sweetheart and takes to her and helps her out, makes her see she capable of making her own choices and not being treated so barbaric and old fashioned. So all of that happens and of course there is steamy scenes, but at the end the two sexy vamps.decided that since Brant can't share they must fight to the death. WTF?? I was so hoping for a 3 way ending and everyone sharing and caring lol but so not the case, it took me by surprise. Still loving the series and can't wait to see what happens after Tanya walked away.
