Outbreak: Kyle and Kelsey Book 1
In the aftermath of a brazen attempted break in at the CIA headquarters, three vials of a highly dangerous and infectious parasite have been released into Washington D.C and the surrounding area. I loved the base story. As a fellow X Files lover, I could see exactly where she wanted this to go. The story part of this is awesome. Gets 5 ⭐️ from me. Where it really drastically takes a dive, is the forced spice. I ADORE spice in novels, but it just didn’t fit well in this story and felt VERY forced. I personally detested the first “sexual” scene. It felt awkward and contrived. On top of that, making her a rape victim of her ex boyfriend, was just unnecessary. If the author wanted to actually delve into that, great- all for the depth of character, but it really just didn’t make any sense in this storyline. Having that be the first time the FMC starts to be interested in MMC, be her pleasuring herself after she basically tries to kill him- just a weird way to happen. If the author had just simply told the story, this would have gotten 5 ⭐️ from me. The story and the idea of the story was AWESOME! I love the outbreak and the writing even is great. She creates this easy blend of true crime with suspense, and the characters are dealing with complete insanity. I love the way that she handles them coming across each other and realizing they each need each other. For a first foray into publishing, solid work. Honestly, would love to see this author regroup into a true crime/paranormal suspense genre. I think the writing itself is pretty great for a first book.

A thriller/mystery/crime novel that will have you clutching the book (or in my case, kindle) for dear life! We start out as Kelsey works a shit as a barista with a killer migraine. She’s sent home but has an episode where she blacks out on the side of the road and wakes up covered in blood that is not her own. With seemingly no other choice, she goes on the run where she has a run in with Kyle. Kyle with the hunting knife.
The two of them realize they may be dealing with the same affliction and do their best to outrun the agents trailing them. Their shared experiences have the falling into a trauma bonded love story that can only end one way.
I received this book as an arc and I am so impressed with the authors work! From the structure to the prose to the character building, I was enthralled from page one! Cannot wait to see more from this author!

Holy moly ! A crime, thriller, and mystery is right up my alley! I’m obsessed with true crime and rarely read fiction but I received this book as an arc from a newfound friend of mine (who is the author) and I have to say I am shooketh. This book is fantastically written, an easy read, yet keeps you thinking and on the edge of your seat! If you are a mystery crime fiction reader this book is gonna be a must. I felt immersed in the book like I was on the run too ! This book is amazing g and you won’t be disappointed in the storytelling and ending.

October 15, 2025DNF at 7%. I found the author on TikTok and love to support indie authors but I think I misunderstood what the book was about. Ik 7% of a 200 page book is a weird DNF, but the subject matter just isn’t for me personally.

Loved this book! I have been in a reading slump for months, and this book was able to pull me out. I normally avoid horror/ gore/ thriller in all media because I’m a big baby, but I made an exception with this book. It is full of conspiracy, intensity, trauma bonding, relationships, and so much more. I cried, I was scared, I was excited - it was a rollercoaster of emotion. Each character felt carefully crafted, making me extremely attached to even side characters. The end was definitely a cliff hanger/ left me wanting more, so I am eagerly awaiting the next book.

As an X-Files fan I loved this story! It literally felt like I was watching an episode of the x-files just waiting for Scully and Molder to appear.

I wanted to come back around and properly review Outbreak, an ARCH copy I received and LOVED!
For starters, the pace is comfortable, engaging, and thrilling. Never a dull moment, and I love when different things tie together at different points in the book.
This style of book isn’t out of my realm per se, just not something I read often or would pick up first — so with that in mind, I give this raving reviews.
I was always entertained, intrigued, excited for what’s next, and questioning what the motives/mysteries were. This book made me think with its unique, one of a kind story plot of a deadly virus, and its characters were relatable and right up my alley!!
Love love love Hannah’s use of tone as well. It was a a great comedic relief at times and also gave her characters some of her colloquialism, adding more depth to the story line. I think this book was thoroughly plotted, had the “it” factor for a unique book plot, and continued to have engaging hands helping get it to the press.
Be warned, you’ll have a few moments of WTF, and screaming at your phone, but what great book doesn’t have those?
