Excellent start to this new story! Also really love the fact they included what the three are doing in their own runs, rather than the norm which is to treat the individual series as not happening for the GCS run. In this we see harley and her agency, Selina still on the run from her past, and Posion Ivy with Janet from HR!

I've been out of the Gotham City loop for a wee while so this was a something of a hard plunge back into the scene for me. With Catwoman being one of my favourite Gotham characters, unfortunately I'm never quite satisfied with how she's being portrayed, and that is the case here.
Also I thought Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn were a couple, so I was surprised by the fluidity of their relationship. This did pique my interest in terms of reading the solo Poison Ivy series though.
I did really vibe with the style of the art, so overall this reached mid-level on the happy reading chart.

I loved the art and colors in this issue. Our three girls get into some shenanigans and things quickly become more than they seem. The writing was on point and this was just fun and enjoyable all around. So glad the next issue comes out next week.

Honestly that took such a surprisingly turn for the better. As this issue started I was a little thrown off, it started to annoy me that this clearly takes place and disregards any of the characters current ongoing stories to somehow fit in a time where they all came together. Catwoman somehow leaving her life on the run to hire Harley’s destruction agency to cause chaos so she can steal some very expensive object called the “conduit” from a new nightclub. Upon hearing the job Harley immediately called up Ivy to get involved and pull her away from he storyline and her apparently very open relationship with Janet (which I was completely unaware of because I’ve only ever seen Janet from the all-in point and in a relationship with Croc), because Ivy was already investigating this nightclub and their major power drains.

The nightclub is open for one night to the public and that’s the chance they have to get in. The art is pretty solid but the dialogue feels like we have stepped back a bit with these characters, especially with their more recent storylines. But with how many references to how alien everything is, and even having an alien rave night, the twists this issue takes once they get inside should be no surprise. Ivy is really the MVP here, able to use her powers to convince all the guards to let them through and ignore their weapons. Catwoman is able to slink into the basement while Ivy snuck off to find where all the resource consumption is coming from. But once Selina meets a dead end that wasn’t on the plans, they all meet back up as Ivy rips through the wall. Only to discover the conduit…is a child! Oh…oh no. And this isn’t just any normal nightclub, if the servants wearing robes and adorned with a third eye symbol didn’t tip it off. Then the ability for their master to brutally kill them on a whim should have, as despero is the one behind all of this! And it seems that he has been expecting intruders to come for the conduit?! What?!

there hasnt been any good gcs or harley/ivy content that isn't blatantly oversexualized in years. I would love just ONE new story that feels like an actual story... and not a gimmick with pretty art and at least one sex scene per 20 pages.

as a lesbian and longtime fan, I just don't like the direction they've chosen to veer with harley and ivy's relationship. when it was ivy helping harley, them being involved in actual storylines, it was really good. now it feels like a cheap sex joke that they won't let die. them being poly is also... a choice. I won't say i'm mad but it's poorly handled (I feel) at almost every turn and used only to further sexualize these characters. it's frustrating because they all have depth and years of history that make them good characters, it's sad to see them boiled down to this.

art is fun though. love the space costumes and the colors.
