Never count older ladies out!
Tides Cove is at risk of land developers turning it into a resort. At the same time something is happening to the marine habitat that needs investigating and there is also the possibility of an old ship that wrecked in the cove in the 1800’s that would make Tides Cove a designated historical site. Enter the “Mermaid Society”, Vivian is the ring leader and these older ladies leave no stone unturned. Vivian enlists her daughter, Emery (a marine life scientist) from California to help. It doesn’t hurt that Emery is still attracted to her old flame Jack, and they work together to solve what’s killing the marine life. Will the Mermaid Society find what they need to stop the developers? Will Emery and Jack rekindle their old romance? Read the book, you’ll love it!

very interesting book
I wasn't totally sure about this book at first. A bunch of women calling themselves The Mermaids, sunken ships and environmental issues was not in my area of interest. But the more I read the more interested I became. This is a very interesting book and I am looking forward to reading book two.

Seniors aren’t boring
You will love these women—brave, dedicated to saving their cove, and more importantly, physically fit enough to swim in the ocean at dawn every day. I will for sure read book 2.

Against the Tide
I am absolutely loving the Mermaid Society book series! Book 1 has me hooked. I can’t wait to move forward to the next book. The friendships of the Mermaid Society are unique and a special bond.

Refreshing and heart-warming!
I loved the way the author portrayed these older women as still being a resourceful part of the community. Collectively, they saved their cove.

Great storyline
I enjoyed, Against The Tide, by Meredith Summers as I have loved all her other books as well. The story gave a great feel of family, friends, and community living life together as one unit versus the “all for one” mentality.
