Blue Murder, book six of the Detective Reiko Himekawa series, takes us to the street of Ikebukuro, Tokyo. Gangsters have been disappearing from the streets or being beat to death brutally, rumors are flying around, and people are whispering about a mysterious figure called the Blue Murder--a lethal killer of gangsters and evildoers. Who is the Blue Murder and what is his/her purpose of dealing out death sentences to the crime bosses?

It is an exciting, fast paced and intriguing noir-style murder mystery that would keep you reading, at the same time it is also a feast of realistically written violence and gore, if you like this kind of things you will surely be satisfied.

The murder mystery aside, the dramas among the cops are also interesting and well written, the heroine of the series, Reiko Himekawa is trying to prove herself again after her scandalous affair with a yakuza boss was leaked out whilst trying to catch the serial killer Blue Murder. I like how the author continued to build up Himekawa's personality with each book.

I equally enjoy the supporting-characters' developments, those supporting characters--with both cops and criminals among them, each has an interesting tale to tell and I like how they perform and show their true color during the final crisis.

可能一直以來跟日本警察小說不太合，所以這本看完後覺得很空虛，不得不說，日劇原版真的翻拍得很好，尤其是選角，這次會在亞馬遜買整套的草莓之夜也是為了竹內結子QQ再也無法看到她所詮釋的姬川玲子了，她將書中姬川矛盾的個性詮釋的很好，書中她與勝俁互動，腦海就會默默浮現竹內和武田的臉。
本書是姬川和菊田在《無形中的雨》後首次碰面，雖然不難理解兩人那複雜的情感，但個人覺得作者處理兩人感情的方式是本書的敗筆之一。另一點是劇情薄弱，前面裝神弄鬼但到中後段兇手身分漸漸浮現時，有種作者就只是把書寫完的感覺，跟本系列第一集相差甚遠。
