I will die on this hill, but trans authors write some of the best horror stories istg.
I enjoyed this, but there is no escaping that this was a very unsettling horror short story (only 41 pages) with some very dark content (absolutely check the trigger warnings here). This featured in the 2023 Halloween Monster Mash! Zine and I would absolutely LOVE to see a revised version of this that was longer and more fleshed out, but as it stands this is a very creepy little read.
Ash, an insomniac, attends a sleep clinic in an effort to address his chronic insomnia, only to immediately begin to be plagued by horrifyingly vivid nightmares.
It’s worth probably emphasizing that this isn’t a monster romance, but is definitely still for the monster fuckers out there 👹✨. For sale for $1USD on Itch

Non-con and dub-con, references to historical self harm, threats of self harm, medical fetishism/ implied medical trauma, monster fucking, rough sex/group sex.

i love an semi ambiguous ending. this was good. short erotic horror with sleep demons? lol idk if that’s what they are but that’s what i’m going with.

This is the kind of dark erotica I can get behind. Trust and believe, it's not a romance and it doesn't end happily, but it's not bleak either. There is some levity, and there is something to be enjoyed here. In fact, the mystery element was really intriguing. There are no concrete answers, but plenty of evidence that you can come to a logical conclusion, and I kind of like that. Or at least as logical as sleep demons (?) can be. I don't know. I just would like to so five stars.
