After helping the Iungo win their freedom from the First Humans, two siblings from Emendo, Cinis and Tressa, were discovered by one of the disgraced commanders and dropped off on the United Trusts and Colonies prison planet. Raised on horror stories about the prison planet, Cinis and Tressa try to prepare themselves for the fight of their life against the blood Resper, terrifying, blood-sucking inhabitants of the planet. Nothing could have prepared them for life as two blood Resper’s personal blood pets.

When a First Human soldier burst in to find Taberi standing over his murdered best friend, he is accused of the crime and is sent to the UTC prison planet. Growing up on the street after he was created in a lab and dumped in the Emendo business district, Taberi trusts nothing but his own color shifting skin.

Cinis, Tressa, and Taberi end up with far more than they could’ve ever expected from such a wretched place.

Sometimes you hear scary bedtime stories as a kid, you grow up & expect them to be true. When Tressa and Cinis land on the prison planet, their entire outlook on this changes.

I loved the detail the author put into this book, it made the pages come to life. I could have closed my eyes and pictured everything clearly.
I definitely went through a whirlwind of emotions alongside the characters throughout the book. But it’s safe to say I loved every aspect of this story and would definitely read it again, and recommend it! 🤗

p.s even though Lock is supposed to be “scary” because of what he is 😉👀 I’d do whatever he wanted lol

Obsessed!! Lauren truly knocked it out of the park!! Domitia gave me exactly what I didn’t know I was craving, a bold, spicy dive into sci-fi fantasy smut that’s as romantic as it is rebellious. This book opened the door to a whole new universe for me: one where half-bat, half-vampire beings fall for humans while fighting to save their planet from collapse. The world-building is rich, the tension is real, and the representation? Chef’s kiss. Every kind of romantic relationship is honored—no one’s left out, and every love story hits different. The character dynamics and relationship arcs had me flipping pages like my life depended on it. A must-read for anyone who loves fantasy with grit, heart, and heat.

This book made the horror lover in me so happy! This is a romantic horror. Vampires with wings 🦇. I will admit the story in the beginning was a bit hard for me to follow but that is only because your learning about all of the different types of Alien species and worlds. Once it gets going though oh boy are you in for some fun! I loved the way that we had a slow burn romance with the different main characters. It had the perfect blend of plot mixed in with spice and romance. The timing with the morbid comedic relief was top tier l👏🏽…making this one of my new favorite all time reads😍

This book is everything and more. The beginning is mostly world building explaining all the inter workings of this sci fi reality. The rest is a slow burn gory romance that makes you fall in love with vampires all over again. After our main characters are dropped off on the prison planet they have to fight to survive against these horrifying blood suckers. Butttttt what if some are also hot. After i got into it I didn’t want to put it down omg!!!

Incredible world building, and vivid creative characters. This is not my usual genre that I read that I found this book very entertaining and would recommend it.

Bloody vampire horror and spice!

This book surprised me in a good way. It’s got a sharp sci-fi backbone with vampires woven in so the blend feels fresh and dangerous. The world is wild, the stakes are high, and the characters So good.
My favorites: Vin yes, I’m biased toward him, Tressa, and Lock but really, I loved how each character had their own voice and darkness.
The sibling duo, Cinis & Tressa, dropped into a brutal prison planet and had to survive among blood Resper creatures. Meanwhile, Taberi with his color-shifting skin and mysterious past adds a layer of “what even is real” to the chaos. The mix of horror, action, vampire lore, and sci-fi tech worked more times than not. I could feel the tension

📚 Lauren is a gifted writer who never ceases to surprise me with each book. Her writing style is unique. The amount of investigation she puts into each book to be as accurate as possible is astonishing.
👧 Her characters are never flat. Starting with Star of Sagittarius you are brought to a distant planet and introduced to so many characters that you have to keep notes. I don’t know how she kept track of all of them. They each had so much personality.
💖 The love story in each of the books 🥰 big, big sigh.
⭐️ I fell in love with Lauren’s books since book 1. Go read everything she writes and you will see she is an amazing writer
