Shadows of the Ironwilde

Rate this book
Lyria has spent her life hidden in the mist-shrouded Forgotten Woods, protected by the elusive Faelethians—unicorn shifters thought long extinct. As one of the last Drakarians, a dwindling race of dragon shifters, she knows the price of being discovered. Her sanctuary depends on secrecy, but when a stoic and determined king crosses into her world, everything she’s fought to protect begins to unravel.

Kiaza, the brooding and duty-bound King of the Drakkarians, is desperate to find the last female of his kind before a ruthless enemy does. His kingdom teeters on the brink of chaos, with his loyal partner, Thalos, struggling to hold alliances together—most critically with the Abyssians, the formidable kraken shifters of the seas. Kiaza’s mission leads him to Lyria, a fiery and mysterious woman who both frustrates and captivates him. Yet, blinded by his duty, he doesn’t see the she is the dragon he seeks.

As the weight of a dying kingdom presses on Thalos, his loyalty to Kiaza is tested when their connection begins to shift in unexpected ways. Kiaza’s growing bond with Lyria only deepens the complexity of their shared fates. For Lyria, the choice to trust these two men could mean exposing her long-buried secrets—or risking the survival of her kind.

With war looming, enemies closing in, and hearts caught between duty and desire, the Ironwilde will either unite them—or destroy everything they hold dear.

A.K has done it again!!! Shadows of the Ironwilde is an amazing magic, shifter (unicorns and dragons you literally CANNOT go wrong) filled fantasy. With spicy twists and unexpected turns.

I absolutely loved every minute of this story. Told from three point of views you get an amazing insight to our two MMC's. Thalos is patient, empathetic and confident AF. (He's also stolen my heart, I literally love him so much) and Kiaza is our grumpy, broody, loner type who is as hot as he is bull headed lol. While these two are hot and heavy our FMC Lyria is the spark to start their flames!! Lyria is independent, bad ass and strong as hell. You'll root for her as well curse how stubborn she is.

On top of the complex characters, you get introduced to well written world with just enough description to keep you wanting more. A land that encompasses the earth, the sky and the sea. I honestly couldn't put it down. Total finish time of 4 hours ish........Plus the ending!!!! I can't wait to see what comes next.

***I was extremely honored to have the opportunity to Beta Read for this book. These thoughts and feelings are my own.*****

I struggle with what to say about this book. It’s a different writing style than I’m used to reading (which I’ve come to enjoy!). The prologue is upsetting but also sets the stage for the overall book wonderfully. The growth and journey each of the characters take individually is enthralling. Between the dragons, magic, (and unicorns!) and action you don’t know what to expect on the next page. The plot is well thought out (and the spice) and the book leaves you wanting more! Thalos and Kia’s relationship is such a great representation of the give and take needed for a never ending bond. Thalos is more in tune with himself and regulating his feelings, where Kia is learning to ask questions first and not react first. Throw Lyria into the mix and these boys fall fast and hard even if Kia doesn’t realize it at first! It’s gripping and definitely worthy of an all night read-a-thon! I’m so excited to see how everything unfolds in book 2!!

I loved this book, from the very descriptive world building to the amazing characters that I fell in love with. There is just something about A.K.'s writing where it just pulls you in and you feel like you are right there in the world.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 start book that i didn't want to end

This book follows Kia and Los, both kings of the Drakarians are looking for the last part of their bond, the last female Drakarian. Little do they know she is an independent, strong and not willing to just be a queen locked in a tower.
I loved the banter and the spice. Also there are shifters, dragon shifters, fae shifters, and unicorn shifters (YES you read that right!) i loved how the relationships were formed, from Kia and Los's relationship, how they grounded each other and calmed the storms together, and then from the moment Kia meets Lyria I knew that this was the right bond that they all needed and was fate.

this was everything that I needed from shifter romantasy. this book does end on a cliffhanger, and there are a lot of unanswered questions, but it leaves you needing more in just the right ways!

You should read this book if you are looking for
~MMF relationship
~fated mates
~Grumpy/Sunshine
~shifters
~multi-pov

Where to begin? First off, I loved this book. I would rate it 4.5/5. There were a few times I was confused with the chapters, as the characters had their own chapters sharkng things that took place during other characters chapters. Once I realized what was going on and that the story hadn’t skipped, that totally made sense.

I loved the world building. A.K. spent exactly the right amount of time constructing the world without inspiring boredom or confusion on the aspects.

I liked that the book was about a relationship, but so much more. This also wasn’t two men looking for their third bond, it was two bonded lovers looking for the final link in their bond.

They’re were some spicy scenes, but most weren’t very long. The lengthiest scene is later in the book, and the timing and length makes sense. It’s all very well written. For level of spice, I would rate it about a 3/5 peppers. Open door, multiple partners.

Overall I’m very happy with this book and can’t wait to read more.

ARC REVIEW- The fire, the storm and the sunshine. Lyria is the last female of her kind, but she doesn't want to save the world and she certainly does not believe in prophecies, however when a stranger stumbles in to her world, she feels an instant connection to not just him but his mate as well, and she may have to accept that maybe the prophecies had it right. This romantasy had me drawn in from the first page, the world building, the plot and the characters. Kai with his brooding yet fiery attitude, Thalos with his calm and gentle nature and Lyria who is snarky and sarcastic yet also confident and brave. I was hanging on every word leading up to that ending which had my mind blown! I am so ready for the next book in this series.

I am so glad and honored to have picked to be an ARC reader for this!

This was such a good romantasy read! The world building was amazing and so easy to follow. The fractions and the boundaries were so clear and the detail given made it so easy to imagine.

The characters and their bonds were so well done! The love between the two MMCs was so intense, and the way the FMC was tied in felt so natural.

This is the first in the series and I cannot wait to read the next one. It left me wanting more of their story and to see where things go! The author did an amazing job and you can tell they poured their heart into it!

This was an awesome story. I loved so many of these characters. The three main ones Lyria, Kiaza, and Thalos will have my heart forever. This story is about bravery, love, and revenge. I loved every minute of it. If you like dragon shifters, plot, and some very spicy scenes then this is 100% for you. Come for the smut stay for the plot! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for these three in the future!

I did an ARC review for this book and oh my gosh, the suspense, the spice, the storyline and oh how well it was written. The FMC is strong willed and so beyond stubborn she can’t see why she really needs! Which is the two main just as stubborn and bullheaded and amazing MMC’s. This book was well written and I couldn’t think of a better Fantasy book to read. It does have M/M scenes. As well as a scene with all three together. I loved the book so much and can’t wait for the next one to come out.

I am so vested and cannot wait for the next book to continue the story line! Not a major cliff hanger unless you read the epilogue!! ❤️❤️❤️

Get ready for the reading adventure of the year!! Get ready to dive into the world of the Drakarians. Stubborn shifters, fated mates, and life and death decisions. Add a little slow burn romance and magic to tie it all in. This was an AMAZING ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ book that I could NOT put down!!

Shadows of the Ironwilde centers on a dragon king, a powerful consort, and a "third mate" who’s been hidden away. Given how much is being set up (heritage, enemy threats, prophecy), the payoff for many of the major threads comes later in the series.
It's a promising start to a fantasy romance series that marries high-stakes political drama with personal emotional arcs. Check it out of you like: Intense, fate-driven romance, worldbuilding that feels mythical and layered, character-driven fantasy.

Ironwilde is an amazing read. A.K. Neane N E V E R disappoints. The spicy scenes, the yearning, the drama, the characters and their development, the fascinating world and powers, the complexities of everything are all done so well. I truly lost myself in the best way while reading this, I'd get immersed into this story. And the FMC? Top tier. I haven't seen a woman written like this. Ever. She is strength, power, and independence. I wish I could be as strong and willful as Lyria.
