Grace Maccarone is an American children’s book editor and author, notably of Miss Lina’s Ballerinas, illustrated by Christine Davenier, and its sequel Miss Lina’s Ballerinas and the Prince. She has also worked as an editor at Scholastic, Wireless Generation, and currently Holiday House.
The pictures look so old-fashioned, which is odd considering the text was copyrighted in 1995. This is a good opposites book, but something about it reminds me of a Seuss book.
A simple book of adjectives (old, new, long-ago, just-for-show) featuring cars driven by dogs. No plot but an enjoyable read for the 2-3 year old crowd.
Filled with colorful and varied types of cars, this is a great book to review opposites. In addition to the cars, children will laugh and enjoy the cute dog drivers of the cars.
Car, car, car!! I am very excited when I see this book. I know every kind of car. I tell my parents about it all the time "new car!" I say. "New car!!!"
