Adeline is such a relatable heroine—strong in her own way, passionate about her craft, and torn between the safety of her comfort zone and the fire of something (or someone) completely life-changing. Rhodes, on the other hand, is the epitome of an Alpha hero: protective, devoted, and absolutely relentless in his pursuit of the woman who completes him. Their chemistry is electric, and the emotional push and pull kept me turning the pages late into the night.

What makes this story stand out is how Wilder grounds the fantasy of shifters and fated mates in real, heartfelt struggles—identity, belonging, and learning to step into the unknown for love. It’s both swoony and deeply emotional, with just the right amount of steam to keep you breathless.

This story is warm, romantic, and just the right amount of spicy. It’s about unexpected connections, navigating differences (human vs. wolf, anyone?), and leaning into love even when it terrifies you.

If you love shifter romances with heart, humor, and a whole lot of cinnamon rolls (literal and metaphorical), this one’s a delicious treat. 🐺💕.

This was a sweet bite sized treat! We have Rhodes an aloof, sweet, direct, intense, flustered alpha of his pack hero who's suddenly has such a sweet tooth, he has to have his dessert fix but doesn't know why. Our heroine Adeline is a baker who makes goods for different establishments and she is my favorite type of heroine, the shy, sweet, kind, woman who gets flustered but inside she has strength that is to be respected. Together, they make for such an adorable couple, and I am still smiling at how they met. He is so direct that it took her off guard, and her shyness makes her skitter away, but he is not far behind trying to convince her that they are meant to be, and boy does he. This was such a treat that I recommend highly. It is short, which is my only complaint only because I want to stay a while longer with our couple, but all the boxes are ticked when it comes to the important stuff.
I loved it! I cannot wait for the other alphas in the group Cyrus, Camden and Foster, to get their first, last and only true love (and I wonder who Adeline's best friend Holly will be paired with as well; she was a sweetheart too). This little novellas felt like a warm hug. Just all sweetness with just the right amount of heat in the bedroom and a bit of spice for balance.
I will read it again when I need my aloof giant/shy sweetheart DV couple!

Adeline is a shy, quiet, and curvy baker who has recently moved to town. Rhodes is a hunky alpha wolf shifter who lately is all about the sweets, or the one baking the sweets. He knows Adeline is his fated mate but scares her initially coming on way to strong. As they cross paths again, she is more open to a date. These two were adorable together. Rhodes wanted his girl, Adeline wasn't used to the attention. They had great chemistry and we got a lovely HEA after some minor angst.

This was a fun and engaging series opener and I love the way the romance unfolded for Adeline and Rhodes. He's an alpha that has suddenly developed a sweet tooth, only to find that Adeline, the new baker in town, is the reason why ;P He knows the moment he sees her that she's his mate and sets off to win her heart, despite her being a human. This was a fun fast read with humour, good spice and a fab HEA. I'm looking forward to the next book :D

This was quick instalove with a happily ever after. I loved how this book started. I like the meet cute. I felt it was really realistic or at least how I would feel if some guy said “mine” and “we are forever”.I was so excited to keep reading but after the meet cute I felt it was very rushed! It felt hollow and too instalove for me. I love the authors ideas and stories I just wish she would put a little more in the character connection!.

This is a 79 page insta-love novella, not a novel. There is no character development or plot other than "guy sees girl, realizes she's his mate, takes her on 2 dates over 2 days, then they bang, mate, and live happily ever after". I think this could have become a nice novel if it was 5 times as long and really delved into the world-building, the histories of both characters, the relationship building, and the emotional turmoil over the human-mated-to-a-shifter dynamic.

DNF at 45%. I don't think I'll ever be able to finish a story that has a woman calling herself chubby and unworthy of a conventionally attractive man, who is clearly obsessed with her and has to reassure her that she's beautiful enough to be with him.

It happens more often than you'd think, and I despise it every single time. If you can't make her confident, then at least make her body-neutral, because it's exhausting to read self-deprecating comments for most of the book.
