What’s the true value of a moment—of a meal, a feeling, a second chance?
In The Big Tip, a sharp, soulful 70,000-word contemporary romance, fate simmers over the fine dining scene of San Francisco, where the stars influence more than just restaurant reviews.
Asher Bennett knows how to read a room. As a high-end bartender with charm on tap and ambition on standby, he’s built his life around pouring perfect cocktails, chasing tips, and keeping things light. But when he meets Penny—a firecracker pastry chef who traded kitchen heat for cosmic signs—their chemistry upends everything Asher thought he wanted.
Their spark is undeniable… until a mysterious customer leaves behind a weathered copy of The Farmer’s Almanac for Personal Investment, and Asher’s life takes an unexpected turn. Suddenly, he's betting big on predictions that seem too accurate to be coincidence—and winning. As the money rolls in, so does the pressure, and Asher begins to lose touch with the grounded, soul-shaking connection he had with Penny.
With fate dealing out cosmic curveballs and second chances rare as a perfect soufflé, Asher must Is the fortune he’s chasing worth more than the future he’s risking?
This book is a roller coaster ride of adventures lived by a group of friends who are service industry workers in San Francisco. Placed in unforeseeable situations, Asher makes decisions I would never make, so it's fun to live through his eyes and see where we land. The characters are the best part. The main character, Asher, is frustrating, yet likeable. There are parts of the book when I didn't like him at all, but he redeems himself. And there are characters who I completely loved from start to finish! The book is full of twists and turns, and is definitely not predictable. I never would have guessed where we ended up.
The book is very descriptive - I was "there" as I read. The descriptions in the book are written in a very unique, whimsical voice.
