Being human at a school for fae was never going to be simple—but now it’s full-on chaos.
Turns out, my closest friends are fae royalty in hiding. Or… they were hiding. The Winter Queen’s been revealed. The Summer Prince is making it clear "charming" doesn't describe him. Yet instead of tearing each other apart like the stories say they should, they're in this together.
Yeah. That doesn't fit the concept of a divided kingdom at all.
See, the legends say Winter is evil. The rumors claim that if it falls, Summer will rise. It's all just a bunch of cheap cliches, but the one thing everyone agrees on? The two courts are meant to stay separate. So now Winter-born students are being attacked, and like a curse, no one knows who'll get hit next.
Which is why we need to act like heroes.
I’ve got friends worth fighting for, a school worth saving, lovers to kiss, and a really bad habit of running straight at danger. Lucky for me, so do my friends. Together, we’re going to prove the Mad Queen has been wrong all along.
Because this fight isn’t about a crown, or a season. It’s about finding a happily ever after for everyone.
~ *Rebellious Royals is book 3 in the projected 6 book An Accidental Fairy Tale series.
I really enjoy that the group dynamic is getting more relaxed an open within the court. Torian is driving me nuts at times but then he is also just a victim of his circumstances so you can‘t really blame him.
Assigning a new heir was one of these „duh“ moments and it felt like a lot of the „big plot points“ in this book were rather obvious for a long time? But maybe I‘m thinking to simple here.
It‘s gonna be half a year until the next one…
Plot Summary (Spoilers)
There is a lot of training in the gym and the sentinels are very helpful.
The group finally decides to come out as royals and reactions are mixed. They decide that there are no factions but „one true court“ anymore and throughout the book several people declare their loyalty and change their magic according to who they declare for.
Torian is freaking out because he fears Aspen will be killed in order to make im heir to both thrones. Aspen does the obvious and names Wilder as heir so Torian is now only heir for summer. Problem solved.
Keir also finally makes a move on Tor and they are officially dating now.
Shadow turns out to be the embodyment of Magic and changes magic to work in a way that everyone can decide what affinity they want to be.
Ms Hawthorne turns out to be working for the Winter Queen and is executed via the Hunt.

Rebellious Royals, book three of the An Accidental Fairy Tale series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). Another fast-paced installment of this series. I had to go back and re-read the end of book two, as it had been awhile and I needed to review, but I soon caught on to where the story left off and was drawn right into the action. It gets a bit confusing in some places, trying to remember who knows what, but all-in-all great forward momentum in the story line.
this book just hugged me and told me everything was going to be okay. every time I feel like I know what Auryn can do she surprises me. this series is so unlike anything i’ve ever read and i am in love with the story and the characters. it feels like a part of my childhood self is being healed and i would definitely recommend to everyone.
Oh dang. A lot happens as we concluded Rain’s high school career. So much changes personally in this book. For Rain, Keir, Torian & Hawke. We finally get answers of who is building hate against winters. We also get hope for the future. I don’t know why I assumed it would be a three book series. Now I’m sad to wait for the fourth book 😢
It was ok. Kind of dragged at times. I always appreciate lgbtq positive books. I always appreciate books that support being and embracing your honest self. The characters are teenagers, so it does lend to a more YA book. A lot of the characters have the same feel/personality.
I love Auryn Harley’s writing and I absolutely ca not wait for the next book, I wish I’d known it wasn’t a completed series prior to reading but that’s on me. It’s a good story about magic, found family, growth, and love. As always in her writing, consent is important, and blood doesn’t mean family.
I read this through the authors website during its pre release, I greatly enjoyed it, a great follow-up to pixie problems. Rain and her relationships take a little bit of a backseat in this one, unfortunately.
She is such a good writer, you get sucked right into the story. I loved the world building and the character development. My only complaint is the best book is out next year! However I would recommend this series.
Not a lot happens until the very end. If you like conversation you'll love this book. Meh. 3 books in and I'll probably only finish this series if I'm bored.
So exciting. I need the next book now because it's going down. I think everyone really comes into their own in this book. I will always recommend anything from Auyrn. Read it.
So, I have to be the BIGGEST fan of A.H. Hadley. I have read EVERY book written, and I have to say this series is getting better with each book! It sucks that there is so much time in between and man I get impatient, but it’s definitely worth the wait!
Hadley is always on fire! This series just gets better and better. The characters are solid and relateable. I love all of them! And the story telling is so remarkable, deep and mesmerising. Read and enjoy!
I’ll forever be a fan! These are always such a fond favorite! This one finds our crew finally stepping into their power and totally changing the entire magic landscape. I can’t wait for the next installment.
For the next book to be out!! Understandable with the massive move and all! Another great series from the amazing Ms hadley! Love aspens role because we don't get enough of that in the why choose genre!!
Absolutely loving this series and the mix of all the characters! The slow burn between multiple characters is so enticing to read! Auryn always comes up with the best worlds!
