Rate this book
Wholesome powers. Found family. Sweet romance.Em Chantler has the best superpower. She reunites lost pets with their owners. Cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, even one enterprising fish. Nothing makes her happier than the look on an owner's face when they realise their pet is coming home.

But when her own dog, Misty, disappears, Em's power fails her and she doesn't know what to do.

That is, until she meets Ash with his endless jokes, unwavering self-confidence, and swoonworthy smile.

Ash introduces her to a secret society of minor superheroes. Their powers might be small but their hearts are big. And, as they help Em on her quest to reunite with Misty, they begin to find that their own problems are solved along the way...

I am obsessed with this book, I really enjoyed it. It made me feel all fuzzy inside. The banter between the characters was hilarious and I loved the found families and the relationships that got rekindled throughout. I liked following the stories of each character, and each of them using their power to help find Misty and then when they met someone from their past, learning about what had happened to them and how they got to be where they are now was really interesting. The journey we went on while visiting all the places that Em had been with Misty in the past and she was now there to find her and how the people and places all linked together. It was like one big hug and normally I can't cope with that amount of soppyness but it just worked because of the humour but there was also some sadness in there too.   It was a really easy read and yes there were some mistakes ( at one point Em was talking to Sophie on the phone and it mistakenly said Laura instead) but I found the book so engaging that I could ignore the few mistakes in it
There was a bit near the middle where it kind of threw up gender equality for a few chapters and that was a bit much for me personally but overall I loved the book.
5 star read and I look forward to reading more by her

It’s a fun premise that is funny and sweet yet still manages to tug on your heart strings.

I love that every character gets a complete back story (even the animals!) and there’s a wide mix of interesting and diverse characters as always. A great read and would thoroughly recommend.

This was adorable! Em has a superpower. Lost pets find her, and she then helps them get back home (I actually had a friend a bit like Em too, once upon a time). However, when one of her own pets goes missing, she realises her power doesn't work on herself. But never fear, for the secret society is here to help, with other whimsical powers like making you smell your favourite scent.

The story follows Em as she searches for her lost dog, and along the way each of the members of the secret society are given some closure on issues from the past. Which is quite a lot to be getting on with for one book, and which is my only real criticism. We meet a person from one of the society members' pasts, and then we are given the highlights of the story of their relationship and what happened, but it's more of a summation and doesn't go deep enough to actually get invested most of the time. And because there's so many stories, the book becomes a little fragmented despite the through line of the missing dog.

Nevertheless, the story is very cute and wholesome and legitimately funny. And I enjoyed reading a story where the romance is mainly banter and cuteness and not spicy. Everything has to be spicy these days. This just gave me the warm fuzzies.

Spice: a few kisses!

This is a joy to read. It is the definition of a cozy read. It is light and easy with some truly weird small powers! This is a classic Kathy book, great characters and humour, and a huge amount of dialogue.

The plot is meandering and tbh isn't a super strong feature of the book! It's more about people and found family and all that comes with that, so it's absence doesn't really impact enjoyment at all!

I loved it!! And the ending is just perfect!

If you love cozy books where animals have their own personality, and the people are quirky this is the perfect book.

Losing a pet is many peoples (including my own) worst nightmare. That nightmare becomes real for several pet owners in this book, but luckily Em is there to save the day. Finding lost pets might be a small powers, but to people who have lost their pets it's the best power imagniable, which is exactly why I love this book so much.
Small powers are just as good as great powers.

A really humorous, feel good book. The banter between the characters was very entertaining. The romance was low key but very important to the story. Everybody including the animals had very interesting back stories. Em found a family and everything ended happily. It was the first book I have read of this author and I would happily read more like this.
