One Freaked Up Halloween

Rate this book
For fans of all seasons, Claire Raye brings you a brand new book series set around your favorite holidays featuring laughs, love and of course a little bit of steam. Each book can be read as a standalone and happily ever afters are guaranteed!

Heidi Swanson has always loved Halloween, just about as much she’s loved her brother’s best friend. And acting on those feelings has never happened because there’s nothing scarier than unrequited love.

Andrew Warner is as clueless as the day is long when it comes to realizing his best friend’s sister has a crush on him. Despite being a medical student, his smarts lie solely in the academic department.

When Heidi is selected to compete in a Halloween haunted hotel weekend to win $10,000, she knows she needs to choose her partner wisely. Selecting her brother is a no-brainer, but when he can’t attend he suggests sending Andrew in his place.

Spending the weekend together in a spooky old hotel feels scarier than the ghosts they say lurk between the walls. But as a broke college student Heidi knows she can’t turn down the opportunity. It’s Andrew joining her that could be the scariest part of all.

Will they risk their lives and fall in love or will it be one freaked up mess?

This was a great Halloween read! Fun and fast-paced, filled with over the top games and laughs, spice and set in an abandoned haunted hotel! What could be better!

Heidi is entered into a contest to stay four nights in the hotel-all to win 10 thousand dollars. She is in need of a partner-enter Andrew. Her older brother’s hot best friend who she has had a crush on for years!

I enjoyed the connection that these two had they have been friends since kids, but nothing has ever happened between them. They have so much in common, so much fun together and kept a smile on my face. The way they played off of each other and pulling their little pranks and jokes was amazing!

But slowly, being alone in close proximately-(without Heidi’s brother) the attraction comes out, tensions rise and the chemistry is in full force! I loved watching all that turn into more. As they opening up about their feelings, and realizing how strong their connection is-both in and out of the bedroom. They see just how real this all could be. Having a foundation of friendship was wonderful-but taking it to this next level and deepening their feelings was great to see-it flowed easy and they have such comfort in one another. And it did this lead to some pretty spicy times!

Love how easily they got each other, the connection was clear and fun to watch progress into more, like it was the only thing missing all along. They made a great team!

This one kept me entertained the entire time! I just couldn’t wait to see what these two would get up to next-how the contest would end and see if they would be the winners!

If you’re looking for some great holiday reads full of tons of laughs, romance and steamy moments-make sure you check out this entire series!

This was such a funny, spicy book that you can read any time of the year!

Heidi has had a crush on her brother's best friend, Andrew, for years. Now they have entered into a contest to spend several nights in a haunted hotel.

I loved this one from start to finish. I love the connection between Heidi and Andrew. They have known each other for years and have been friends, but then everything changed and they couldn’t get enough of each other.

The whole contest was hilarious. I loved it so much and was dying of laughter while reading it. Plus, the things Heidi and Andrew did. You can’t help but root for them throughout the entire contest.

If you’re looking for a holiday themed, brothers best friend, only one bed, forced proximity then check this one out.

The main characters were HORRIBLE! Unlikable! Cruel! and Mean! I am supposed to ignore all that because of their sexual chemistry? And what was with the teenage boy humor? Wetting and pooping pants.

To me, "Mr. Know-it-all" sounded like someone who could be on the spectrum. The way the characters were written, the way they treated people, the name-calling, it all gave me the ick.

How was I supposed to believe "Scary shit is her jam" yet she didn't know there was a ghost community?

When I pick up a book about Halloween and a haunted hotel. I expect a haunted hotel and Halloween vibes, not 2 semi adult behaving like bullies.

I love the premise for this book: a competition staying in a haunted hotel on Halloween, but the execution was lacking. There really wasn’t anything haunted about the hotel, the people putting on the competition didn’t seem to care, and everyone was a dick. The two main characters were such dicks to everyone, and the rest of the competitors were portrayed as ridiculously stupid or idiotic and mean. There were no characters worth liking. The main characters said their actions were all in fun, but you can have fun and not be such dicks. Their saving grace was that they weren’t jerks to each other; they were very supportive of each other, but also supportive of each other being dicks to everyone else. So overall it was a letdown, and it could have been so much better.

I could not get into this at all because I found the two main characters unlikable with how needlessly mean to the point of cruel they are to the other characters. I get that they are in a competition, but the other contestants have done literally nothing to warrant this behaviour from them. If this is to supposed to be the "humour" in this book, it falls unbelievably flat. Hard to root for, or care about the romance between the two when they themselves are insufferable.
