Kudos to the dude cocky enough to unfollow me after I said I didn't want any hot guys my Friends list. Self confidence like that is why I hate you stupid Chads.
What I do remember is that I stopped because the writing and the story took a nose dive from the first 3 books. Below is a review I wrote at the time not sure if I was going to go back and finish it or not. Turns out not.
So first of all every time we look back at the girls, Angelica and Olivia, I can’t help but feel it’s pointless and unneeded.
Like they were main characters in the first 3 books so I would expect us checking in on them, but every time we do, it feels so pointless.
Then there’s this sub almost story line of this random, probably other worlder, who I don’t think knows anything of the world being a game, but knows it’s another world, deciding to try and drug and rape Olivia.
The way people talk about it, made it sound like this big thing. It’s basically a throw away story plot solved as soon as it’s brought up. And then they have the would-be rapist raped. Like it was so unnecessary and added nothing to the story.
Potential it was to show that other other worlders were appearing but we get that idea from the main story. And that still doesn’t explain the whole rape thing going on there.
And then there’s Leon. He’s such a sideliner now. So worried about changing the game, he’s letting stupid stuff happen. Got his ship stolen, even though we all know it’s just Luxion being upset at what was logically the best option.
I’m getting annoyed at the story because Leon is only being reactionary and he already knows the storyline is messed up, but doesn’t want to do anything to mess up the story. Which he basically has no idea of.
I might not even finish the story at this rate. I’m losing interest quickly here. I’m hoping that I’ll feel like going back and that it gets better, but I’m not holding out hope at this point.
I can see why it’s free. And yet the reviews put it almost at 5 stars. Makes no sense to me right now. (The book was and still is free on audible at this time)

I've been binge reading the series, and until I hit about 44% through this volume four I was doing great. Once I hit a climatic event in the middle here... I was so disgusted with how the story was going that I had to walk away from the book for a good half a day and sleep on it. It was so predictably railroading that it could only go two possible ways. One way led to painful cliche and the other way led to trashing a favorite character. I don't want to get more details than that cuz you know spoilers, but it had me so tilted that I did have to walk away for a while... And this is after I've been binge reading it to the point of sleep deprivation. I'm happy to say that the part that was distasteful to me only lasted about a chapter and very quickly resolved, however it still was quite unpleasant. Once that was over, it went back to the usual that I'm used to. The story closes in this volume at a sort of cliffhanger that feels a bit awkward. There's no surprise of awkwardness but still... I'm glad I don't have to wait for the next volume!
If it weren't for that one speed bump in the middle I would have given a full five stars to the book for overall satisfaction. But because that speed bump literally made me so disgusted I had to get up and walk away and do something completely different before going to bed and then sleeping off my irritation... I couldn't in good conscience give it more than four stars. I do think it's still worth reading, I just feel like... Well I think I've said enough. :-)
Once again, this is a good book. Took a little while to get into it, but once it got its paces it was definitely worth it. Loving the story and the characters within. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
I must applaud the author for somehow being able to pull out plot from nowhere because if you think about it, the story should have ended typically after they cleared the first game. Still, an entertaining read.
Moving on to sequel at Alzer Republic and things take a slightly darker turn this time. It was good overall. Angie and Livia left out of action though.
EDIT: I completely forg. ot that I read it and listened to audiobook, which is currently free on audible plus. Very forgettable, not as fresh as first three.
