From the author of A Bride for a Billionaire...

Blind librarian Marjorie Stewart is only at the ridiculous firefighter auction to rescue her best friend Pete. Disaster strikes when she finds that she hasn't saved Pete at all, but rather has landed herself a date with a Harley riding bad boy firefighter that makes the dude from Outlander look lame. But try as she might to fight it, soon she's wondering if letting herself burn would really be so bad...

Scottish firefighter Bren MacKenzie loves women- all women. But lately they've all started to blur together... that is, until fate throws Marjorie Stewart into his path. He's had a thing for the sexy little redhead for years, but after her accident he kept his distance, sure that she could do better than the likes of him. But now that she's within reach, he's not sure he can resist any longer...

WARNING: This book contains the word lassie uttered repeatedly in a Scottish brogue. Known to make panties melt.

Lauren Hawkeye/ Lauren Jameson never imagined that she'd wind up telling stories for a living... though when she looks back, it's easy to see that she's the only one who is surprised. Always "the kid who read all the time", Lauren made up stories about her favorite characters once she'd finished a book... and once spent an entire year narrating her own life internally. No, really. But where she was just plain odd before publication, now she can at least claim to have an artistic temperament.

Lauren lives in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada with her husband, toddler, pit bull and idiot cat, though they do not live in an igloo, nor do they drive a dogsled. In her nonexistent spare time Lauren can be found knitting (her husband claims that her snobby yarn collection is exorbitant), reading anything she can get her hands on, or sweating her way through spin class. She loves to hear from her readers!

There really is two stories in this book. We have our main couple, Bren and Marjorie, and the secondary set, Annabeth and Pete, are adjecant and affecting to them, and have a bit of a story themselves

The premise was different, someone with a visual impairment in a romance novel? Not unheard of, but not a norm by any means. It was done really well, Marjorie was honest and tried to be self-aware, and her disability wasn't overplayed nor underplayed. My biggest issue with her was, for someone who had such confidence, knowledge of her limitations, and no problem voicing them, why she always got so upset by things outside her control

Really, every little thing that happened, she flew off the handle and reacted without thinking. Her reasons were well explained, so I got that, but, tone it down a bit

These two were super hot together, and you could feel they were perfect for each other. I did enjoy the story, even though Marjorie made me want to have a talking to her a couple of times. It wasn't great, there was some repeating of thoughts, and story line, but overall, not a bad read

Now the second couple, I could have had more of them, and a follow up novel on how they make out!

Okay...first...

I read this book for one reason and one reason only.

Because of the Outlander mention in the description.

I belong to many many Outlander fan pages on facebook and one of them discovered this and we were...half amused, half annoyed and a tiny tiny bit curious. So as a fast reader who had a quiet day at work, I volunteered to check it out.

In short, no. No Bren does not make "the dude from Outlander look lame". Bren is a rather wonderful character, will not deny that. I certainly would accept a ride on his Harley. But he is NO Jamie Fraser. Bren is honestly...a rather typical romance novel hero. Sexy and dangerous...mixed with sweet, gentle and charming. Jamie is so so much more complex and diverse than that, just not comparable at all. Bren would have needed quite a few more layers to even come close to Jamie.

All that being said...it was a pretty good read overall. Nothing special but if you're looking for a fun, porny romance novel that a quick and light read...I'd suggest this one. Bren was sexy and Marjorie being blind added a fun little twist to it that gave the story a bit of depth that I enjoyed. Also there's library sex.

And well...the book tells the truth...Jamie has made me more than a little weak for a Scottish accent...

short, sweet, and sexy...there are actually two stories in this one...both held my attention though only one of them has more details while the other was just a sketch but still their HEA made it worthwhile to read but i would have liked how to know how the girl dealt with her life's situation in the future (not sure if there is any follow up story)...in the one/main story, the heroine is blind after an accident from 10 years ago, she and hero were always aware of each other but didn't let it known...them crossing paths now was just right timing i guess...fun read!!! i will definitely read more books from author as i liked the writing:-)

I am a huge Lauren Hawkeye (yes, you can say rabid) fan and I just finished Mr. Hot Stuff. What a wonderful, loving, thoughtful story! I just loved it.

The story was about Marjorie and Scottish fire fighter Bren. There was much to overcome, at least what both this heroine and hero believed to be insurmountable, but beneath it all it was an attraction that just won’t quit. Marjorie is blind and doesn’t think that Bren (an official hottie who seems to be a playuh) would ever find her attractive. For Bren, he has always had a thing for Marjorie and doesn’t think she would ever consider him “good” enough.

Even with the angst you know is in it, both the characters learn to work thru their issues and keep trying to get to their HEA. And there is a dog, too! Little bit of side chaos that is adorable. I truly enjoyed this story. You will, too.

This is such an adorable story that almost ends up being two stories within one (double win!) Marjorie is a major hoot and has quite a few characteristics that others will easily be able to relate to. On the other hand, Bren is, in typically Lauren Hawkeye fashion, the sexy hunk and he also has an accent (!) while being a really great guy.

Alongside Marjorie and Bren, we also get a lot of Pete, Marjorie's best friend, and his forays into a possible relationship. I totally loved this duo romance that was present throughout. While Marjorie and Bren's is definitely the focus, the other tidbits and scenes were tons of fun.

I so totally recommend this one. I breezed right through it, and totally loved seeing how things would play out for the characters. Anything Lauren Hawkeye really is just a must read.

Bren may be hot, with sexy tattoos, a nipple piercing and a bada** but that man is always honest and that I liked, "if you were a different kind of woman, I'd get us a room right now and have you upstairs and naked underneath me in five minutes." Sometimes a woman has to show her man she means business, "if you're not sure, you'd better tell me now," he growled as her eager fingers slide into his pants, clumsy but eager. She found the swollen head of his c***, standing up and escaping the elastic waist of his jeans." That right there ladies tell me our man is a 'big' one (winks.) I liked this book, Marjorie is a strong independent woman and you really wouldn't know she was blind, and she really compliments Bren so much.

Wow just love Lauren's books and this was no exception.
Marjorie Stewart is blind and goes to a Firefighter charity auction to help her best friend Pete out. The only problem is there is a mess up with the numbers. She only know when to vote based on that and to her surprise she actually wins Bad Boy Harley Riding Bren. Trouble is she had a crush on him and visa versa in high school. He thinks he finally has his chance and she thinks he is just playing her like every other woman since he is known as a playboy. He has to prove to her that he is isn't playing games. It's just so her to believe him since only Pete treats her normal yet he does but her insecurities are always creeping in. Great story and Bren is SUPER HOT

This book had alot packed into it. The characters are likable. I'm not sure if I liked how she included another couple beginning here or there. I wish she would've just made them a separate book. Marjorie came off kind of childish to me. I would've liked her to be a little more tough, I realize she's blind so she's plenty tough. But when it came to simple conversations she couldn't do it. Bren was a very good male lead, I do like how he didn't treat her any different than someone with eye sight. All in all a good read.

Very enjoyable!

Majorie is so well written, a vey sensitive shy lady who's slowly finding her confidence after loosing her sight. It was nice to see how life can be through a different angle, I really felt her struggles and frustrations,
And as for Bren well who wouldnt have a soft spot for a Scottish tattooed Biker & Fire fighter.

I voluntarily read & reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

quick hot read with a really different twist by having a blind heroine... the disability and her challenges and self-doubt seemed to be handled realistically and tactfully.

highly enjoyed and I recommend this one to anyone who likes them HOT!

Fell in love with Marjorie. She's strong, independent, adjusted her life to make up losing one of her senses. Then comes in Bren to show her what she's really missing, and I don't just mean HOT sex! Though there's plenty to be had and with all the senses to be used! Made me crave Chocolate cake!

While the characters were interesting enough I found the story to be lacking in the drama and excitement I expected with a novel based on firefighters. A quick read that was, for me anyway, easy and a touch boring in places.

Who knew a bad ass fireman could be so sweet. Bren was a hero in more ways than one by making Marjorie feel safe and loved while keeping her independent. A great heartwarming read.

Arc review For honest review. Marjorie was at auction to help her friend Pete but because she is blind she didn't get what she was asking for but bad boy bren she did get. Awesome.
