A Dragon So Savage: A Wrath and Revenge Novel

Rate this book
Amalia finds herself at the mercy of a ruthless king who wishes to see her dead, in a new world she thought only existed in fairytales. Punished for a crime she didn't commit, she is sent to the Forgotten Lands, abandoned kingdoms of treacherous landscapes and nightmarish creatures, where survival is a distant hope.

Accompanied by a group of enigmatic dragon shifters, Amalia's journey begins. Among them are those who would see her perish, loyal to the king's dark will. Yet, there are others who sense a deeper connection to her, whispering of a bond that could alter the realm's fate forever.

As Amalia navigates the perilous terrain, she must decipher friend from foe while harnessing the inner strength she never knew she possessed. With each step, the line between ally and adversary blurs, forcing her to confront her own heart and the mysterious powers she begins to unlock.

In a world where trust is as fragile as the wings of the dragons she travels with, Amalia must fight not only for her right to live but also to unravel the secrets that bind her to these mythical beings. As the king's shadow looms ever closer, Amalia's quest becomes more than just a battle for survival—it transforms into a journey of destiny, love, and the power of the human spirit.

A Dragon So Savage is a tale of courage, betrayal, and the transformative magic of love in the face of insurmountable odds. Will Amalia find the strength to rise above her fate, or will the king and Forgotten Lands claim her as their own?

Who the heck am I?

Hey there, I'm K. Christine. I am a new indie author breaking the norm. By that I mean, I don't think I'm doing anything the way you're “supposed to do it.”

I do not come from a writing background… at ALL. My entire career has been environmental based. I started my career as a park ranger for the Department of Environmental Protection, then spent some time as a Zookeeper caring for Rhinos, Giraffes, Hippos, Antelope, and other hoof stock species. I now work for a state non-profit geared toward litter prevention and waste reduction.

So why am I writing a book?

This was always a dream of mine when I was little. It has also always been that dream others laughed at, and made to feel like it was unattainable. Thanks to a crazy dream I had when I was doped up on some Nyquil and the support of some pretty amazing friends I decided I would try, even if its just to say I followed through for the inner younger version of myself.

She deserves to see this become reality.

To the author, from this humble dragon-riding feline — your words were not ink on a page, but fire in my veins.

From the very first chapter, I was claimed. This story did not ask permission—it took flight straight into my soul. In a world where I thought no dragon tale could rival the Empyrean Series, yours didn’t compete… it soared in its own sky.

🌒 Amalia – A soul cracked but never broken. She is moonlight after the storm, a phoenix rising with every heartbeat. She reminded me that the softest hearts hold the fiercest strength.
🌑 Knox – A shadow-wrapped protector. His loyalty, his quiet storm—he is the calm and the chaos. My pearl-clutching began the moment he entered the page.
🌟 Bash – The golden thread of laughter and loyalty. The one who brings warmth to even the coldest battlefields.
🔥 King Tatum – If betrayal had a crown, it would be forged in his image. My claws were drawn every time he appeared.
⚖️ Blaire – A complicated flame. One moment a hiss, the next a whisper of maybe. You made me feel her, question her, see her.
🌸 Star – A light I didn’t expect. Small in size, infinite in impact. Her presence was a whisper of magic and meaning.

This book was beyond a read. It was an experience. A journey. A roar of emotion I will never forget. My claws dug in and never let go.

K. Christine — thank you. For the ache, the beauty, the rage, and the love. You wrote a story that lingers… one that settles in the bones and purrs in the silence.

This book wasn’t just read—it was felt.
And from one book dragon to another, I say this with my whole heart:
You created a masterpiece. 🐾🐉

✨ A dragon so savage 🐉 ✨ 🖤
If I could rate this book infinite stars? I absolutely would. ♾️ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

But alas, I’m limited to 5 ✨

We start this book off right, with a prologue that truly reads like story time. And then we get going quickly, by 5% in I was already hooked and eager to learn more. Read more. Faster. I finished it in 3 days and it only took that long because I had to put it down for things I could not put off.

This book has everything I was looking for. Dragons. Dragon rider. Dragon shifters. I mean?? Come on. You got me with all three right there. But then, she threw in the shadow daddy who has stolen my heart. Xaden can move over because this Shadow Daddy? Yeah he took top place and I’m not even mad. And I’m not gonna tell you his name, cause I kinda like that you don’t know it 😏 but from the moment we meet him, to the last sentence he’s on page, you can feel his power and place in this story and in our lives.

The FMC? Yeah we love her to death. She’s a fighter. She’s resilient. She’s strong willed and absolutely willing to do anything to survive and I am here for this. And her growth, journey and strength. I was rooting for her from page one all the way to the end. She’s one of my favourite fmcs to date. Shes real. She’s raw. And she makes the choices she has to make. They aren’t always pretty, but they’re what she chooses. She doesn’t shy away from having to get her hands dirty and I love that from her.

The best guy friend? He’s the comedic relief and I will sell my soul to make sure he stays alive forever and ever. Because I love him to pieces and he’s perfect. He’s also fiercely protective which makes him even more valuable.

The blonde guy? Ha ha ha. —that is all.

THE LITTLE COMPANION?? Perfect. So cute. I love and want to snuggle. But also so feisty. And so very needed. She is the perfect addition to their group.

Seriously if you don’t have this book on your tbr already? You need to go add it right now. There was never a moment I got bored. And so many moments that felt like they touched my soul and my heart.

A Dragon So Savage is now one of my top 5 books of the year (sitting right there with my other 3 faves.). And the author? She’s now on my instant buy list. She wrote her way into my heart and I’m never going to miss a story she puts out into the world.

So do yourself a favour and add this to your list. You seriously won’t regret it.

I’ll be screaming about this book for days. (Ever). 🐉 🔥 💜

*I was given this book as an eArc but my review is based solely on my own thoughts and opinions*

It all kind of starts off a little fast. I would have liked some transition, like a moment in the village before she goes to the fields, a little background and then all of a sudden there’s a boy there to help her whom she just realized she remembers, seems a little forced however I like the direction it’s going, just wish there was a bit before the action.

Man, that beginning was brutal, probably one of the saddest openers I’ve read in awhile. Kind of had a supernatural feel to it.

Theres a lot of mention of her time with Lane back in the village but I can’t get into their relationship because she’s just reminiscing, I’m not actually reading or seeing it. Like even though they’ve known each other for awhile, it seems as though they are strangers when I read it.

“It takes great strength to have compassion during times of tragedy.” One of my fav lines

This book has its funny moments which I like. Haha death shimmer. Emotional support mushroom. Funny.

I freaking love a brother love triangle. Yes please! It starts to pick up around 30% and gets real good. Idk how I feel about her first trial and her reaction, seemed out of character for her to do that. The first sexy bit, she seemed very confident yet not anything was mentioned about her romantic past, is wish there was more information, this clearly was not her first time haha. Side note, Bash is the best.

There was just a lot left unsaid and information not provided like why did that one character have to die? If you read it, you know. However I loved the storyline and the characters and the development of where it’s heading, I’m interested to see what happens next. Fantasy is hard to write, it’s very intricate and detailed, with that being said, I think the author has so much talent, I could never come up with a story so complex and they should be really proud of themselves.

I give it a 3.5.

First, thank you so much K. Christine for the opportunity to be an ARC reader of your debut novel!!

A Dragon So Savage kicks off with a bang—just a few pages in and I was already full of questions and curiosity about what Amalia is going through! The intrigue is real, and the pacing is quick, so it kept me hooked!

The cast is interesting: Lane feels a bit off to me, but Knox? Yes, please—possessive and compelling shadow daddy, he’s definitely a highlight of the book. I also loved Bash and Star!!!!! However, I found myself wishing for a deeper emotional connection. The story tends to tell you how the characters feel, rather than letting you experience it with them, so by chapter 12, I wasn’t as emotionally invested as I’d hoped.

The worldbuilding and plot feel like a mashup of popular romantasy tropes—shadow daddy with violet eyes in the MMC and a FMC learning to fight to defend herself. But as mentioned earlier, I didn’t feel as emotionally invested in them as I did with other romantasy main characters that shared similar descriptions.

While I loved the plot and creativity, I found myself lost at times and the world itself didn’t quite come alive in my mind. I also wished there was some more background insight of the characters development (like the magic training and relationships that formed) and the POV shifts could be confusing—I found myself wishing the chapters were labeled with the character’s name.

That said, the book is fast-paced and the concept is creative, with some standout settings (cave springs🌶️). The ending delivers a great cliffhanger that definitely left me curious about what’s next. While it didn’t leave me in a reading slump or super emotionally invested, it was still an enjoyable ride.

Overall: If you’re looking for a quick, trope-filled romantasy with a creative twist and a cliffhanger ending, give this one a try and support a new romantasy author!! 🤗

A dark, swoony shadow daddy MMC who’d burn the world to ashes for her? Say less 🔥👀

This was unputdownable! A Dragon So Savage is everything I love in a dark romantic fantasy. Fiery dragons, heart wrenching betrayals, secrets, trials & found family (Bash is officially on my ‘must be protected at all costs list’ 🥹)

The FMC is fierce & unyielding, turning her pain into strength. The MMC bantering, swoonily protective, my new book boyfriend. Their chemistry scorches every single page 🔥 I’m officially obsessed.

If you crave addictive, dragon-filled fantasy with high stakes & heart, add in some amazing mental health rep, this one will devour you 😉🐉

Releasing October 22, 2025. I’m already desperate for book 2!!! 💜

So so grateful I got to be an ARC reader for this.

so the author told me "but what if u hate it? i dont want you to force yourself to finish reading" BUT LOL GIRL, u have to force me NOT to read the book AND YOU WILL FAIL XD

anyways, yeah, the book is good, its fun, its very easy to get into and everything just flows so right. it has all the fun, the mystery, the sweet, the frustrating, the cool and angst and heartbreaks and anger—you'll be drawn right in.

just one thing, if you like fmcs who are already strong and smart and cunning, this book is not for you. because amalia is a sweet kindhearted bae whos still in her character development period...

btw, plus points for all the AMAZING arts outside and inside of the book, i love them all so much

now if you read this far, do me a favour and summon me when the next book is out <3

After the entire last human kingdom was haunted by a deadly shimmer, Amalia finds herself at the mercy of a cruel king who wants her dead. But he needs her to bring him the items he seeks. So she is sent to retrieve them with a group of dragonshifters she barely knows and where some of them despise her. The journey is full of challenges, decisions, betrayals and hurt.
One of the mysterious dragonshifters has a connection to her she has yet to discern. Will she be able to survive the journey? Will she be able to differentiate friend from foe before it is too late?

For the first two chapters I had a little bit struggle to get into the story and world but then it really captured me!
I love Amalia and her loved one! The tension, the banter and the jealousy are so good! I enjoy their chemistry and definitely need mooooore, especially maybe a few bonus chapters from his POV? ♡
And Bash - oh my gosh, I need him to be my new best friend. He made me grin and laugh so often ♡

It should definitely get a place on your TBR!

Thank you so much to the author for the eARC!

This book is dangerous to your sleep! Once you start reading you don’t want to stop reading until you read the very last sentence! It was amazing!

This book starts with a bang! A mysterious Death Shimmer wipes out all of the humans, except for Amalia. When Amalia wakes up, she finds Lane also being alive. She’s fierce, determined, and far stronger than she gives herself credit for. Amalia is suddenly thrust into a world at war between Dragon Shifters, Fae, and humans.

Lane’s secret comes to light. He’s a dragon shifter and prince. But everything changes when Knox enters the picture. He is a brooding Shadow Dragon Prince with major grumpy energy. However, Know and Amalia have an undeniable chemistry and it is growing the more they are together. As their connection deepens, Amalia finds out the truth about the shimmer and what caused the shimmer.

I absolutely loved this story. It is fast-paced and has lots of tension and heart. I can’t wait to read the next book and see what happens with Amalia, Knox, and their crew, especially Star!

"I think people often mistake natural wonders for some greater power. Not realizing the fact we exist at all is a miracle in itself."

⭐️5 stars
🥖Spice Level: 3 (this is due to 1 open door scene and sexual references)

If this was a 4 course meal, I would devour this book and say thank you, more please? I loved the writing style and how the author was able to balance humor and emotional scenes. We get dragon shifters, secrets, mysteries, romance, dealing with grief, betrayals, while forging our own path along a dragons scale.

Knox and Amalia were cute and compliment each other well. Bash & Star needs to be protected at all costs. They bring the humorous and light-hearted tone while also showing strength and protectiveness.

I like the depth Blaire character brings. She has her own story, where she continuously gets the short end of the stick. I am very excited to see her character grow throughout because we get a small glimmer of change for her.

With this book, we are just scratching the surface and have so much more to uncover. This book is definitely worth the read.

Thank you, Kali, for the opportunity to ARC read A Dragon So Savage. 💕

When a friend mentioned she was collaborating with another author for a giveaway and showed us the cover, I was immediately intrigued and requested an ARC of this book. I’m also always a sucker for beautiful artwork, and A Dragon So Savage did not disappoint.

First, the dragons were stunning. The way they were described, with diamond, obsidian and emerald scales, made them feel unique. I don’t think I have ever read about dragons described like gemstones before.

The story opens with a bang. There is a tragedy right away, and while I did not feel attached to the characters immediately, the shock of the opening pulled me in.

I will be real. I struggled a bit through the first chapters. The characters are complex and flawed. They are so infuriating at times that I wanted to punch some of them in the face 😭 I'd say the author does an amazing job writing characters who get under your skin. So freaking hateful!

It took me a moment to figure out who the MMC really was, but once I did, I loved him. As for the FMC, she’s not perfect. She’s been through a lot, she’s angry, naive and messes up. I think we’ll see more of her depth in the next book.

The dragon shifters are fascinating too, and (as usual) I got attached to one side character because he just makes everything more fun.

There were a few parts that felt more told than shown, especially early on, and I wanted a bit more clarity about the world and the magic system. Some secrets were held back for tension, which I get, but I hope book two expands more on the lore behind it.

Overall, A Dragon So Savage left me frustrated, intrigued and invested all at once. The world is vivid, the characters are complicated and the dragons are absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks again to the author for sending me an ARC.

All I can say is…OH MY DRAGONS! This book was truly something special. I was very lucky to get to read an advance copy of K. Christine’s debut novel, A Dragon So Savage, and it did not disappoint. You can tell her heart and soul went into this book. I don’t want to spoil anything, because everyone should absolutely get the full experience out of reading this, so this is 100% a spoilers free review.

This romantic fantasy book had dragon shifters, fae, multiple realms, intricate and unique magic system, spice, yearning, and such wonderfully done world building. Each chapter left me wanting so much more and it just kept on delivering page after page.

Parts of this book had me completely shocked, in tears, mad at characters, and verrrrrryyyy much in love with the moody but loyal MMC. There’s also the most ultimate guy best friend who is a total golden retriever energy person we all wish we could have.

I cannot wait to see what K. Christine does with the rest of this series! I also can’t wait for everyone else to be able to read this one!

I didn’t finish this book, it finished me.
Gimme a second to get my thoughts together cause that was incredible!

This story dives head first into chaos, with maybe a brief moment of peace. You follow the FMC going through it, the poor girl, and the author has paced it wonderfully to put you in her shoes.
There are lies and deceptions and things going on that you can’t quite put your finger on, people blowing hot and cold and something is not quite right. This was excellently done, keeping you on your toes and further into the FMC’s shoes.
I adored how certain relationships blossomed and others crashed and burned, the author really manages to convey an appropriate sense of unease around a certain character. She had me cheering for things that typically aren’t celebrated!
The storyline, oh it’s amazing! Amalia the FMC has to collect certain items in a certain time frame or else, and the people she has to take with her are an odd bunch. There’s peril, danger, love, and flying. This whole book stole my breath away and consumed me. Respite was not allowed, nor wanted.

Thank you to the author for an early copy, all opinions (however confusing or scattered) are my own!

I really enjoyed the characters, the overall storyline, and the immersive fantasy elements in this one. The world is rich with dragon shifters, fated mates, and a classic good vs. evil dynamic, paired with high-stakes quests and a healthy dose of forced proximity—all the ingredients for a gripping fantasy read.

That said, I was a little disappointed by how much was held back for the next book. Several secrets and key conversations felt like they could have (and maybe should have) happened in this one without ruining the buildup for what’s to come.

Still, it’s a solid installment and I’m looking forward to seeing how everything unfolds next.

Loved, loved, loved A Dragon So Savage by K. Christine. Just the right amount of world building. Refreshing fantasy that kept me wanting to turn the pages and follow along on the journey, collecting scales and story nuggets along with shifting dragons with different abilities. Main female character Amalia's inner female strength was inspiring. I'm looking forward to what happens next for this group.

It was a fun and very fast paced read. It's got all the best parts ... dragons, revenge, fated mates. The storyline was great. The "Death Shimmer" was intriguing. The battles were intense. The Dragon Shifters had heart. A great read that was hard to put down.

My Issue - it came too fast. While the fast pace kept you interested, it also left out a lot of information/description that I would have loved to have. The predictability factor was high as well.

My husband has always been a big fan of books with Dragons in them. I never understood the appeal of them. I found an arc sign up for this and in my mind I thought it wouldn't hurt to sign up. The book drew me in quickly. I love the intro of the bed time story. Amelia was a country side girl. She loved her town, the people and her family. She wondered out a lot in the fields. When reading about what was happening with the shimmer in the sky and Amelia appearing in darkness, at first I thought she was just having a vision but turns out it was more than that. She wakes up from a man named Lane who saved her. I can't imagine what more pain she will endure. The whole human race is wiped out by the shimmer. She lost everyone she knew and her family. She had to leave the town and go with Lane to his town. He is a prince who was exiled to her town for defying the king. Amelia is stronger than I would have been, if my family was gone, I don't know if I would have had the will to live. And she is known to be close to death with every incident of a lot of scenes in the book. She almost dies by a monster that was in the woods that Lane and Amelia came across in their travels and she encounters more close deaths. She woke up in a room, being healed by a woman named Blaire. She is one of the characters I cannot stand. She is the reminder of queen B women I can't stand in any movie or book. When she meets Knox who is Lane's stepbrother. He is the opposite of Lane, he is protective, understanding, brings comfort to Amelia, and quite the romantic. The bond between is hard to not miss. Amelia and Knox can't keep their eyes off each other. I know lane expressed his interest in Amelia and has been there for her. He is charming, friendly, and can be protective. He seemed like he held a lot of secrets. Lane said for Amelia to stay at the kingdom, she needed to speak with the king and tell in detail what happened in the village. The king is the worst of them all. He wanted to end Amelia and the whole human race. The story about humans killing the dragons and all magical beings was not a bedtime story after all. The man that led the attacks in the past survived and he is Amelia's ancestor. I can understand the pain of losing loved ones. Greed is a horrible disease that destroys all. I just wish Amelia wasn't being blamed for it because she had the same blood. She goes on an adventure to collect the scales of special dragons to collect as a bargain chip for her real life in return. The adventure will provide some deaths of the team members she goes with, one of the brothers is her true mate. She finds more out more secrets about others and she discovers that she has powers never known of. If you like fantasy books with romance, betrayal, hidden secrets, magic, the end of the human race, dragons, the loss of loved ones, and chosen one vibes then you check it out. Let the dragons lead you this book and begin reading it.I promise once you read it, you won't put it down.

***ARC Review***

I had the pleasure of not only beta reading, but also ARC reading A Dragon So Savage by K. Christine. I loved this story entirely too much, that I immediately wanted to read it, so I was incredibly thankful to receive an edited copy to ARC read.

A Dragon So Savage is a story of loss, betrayal, grief, evil, quests, found love, torture, and discovering oneself and their strength. It contains dragon-shifters, magic, humor/comedic relief, chemistry, people to hate, people to love, torture, and more. One minute you are ready to scream and the next you are laughing; it can be quite a roller coaster.

The FMC is strong, resilient, cunning, vengeful, empathetic, and very relatable. I saw so much of myself in her while I was reading. What happened during the first trial? Yup, I would have done that too. When she meets an adorable little companion? 10000% would have been me. The need of the emotional support mushroom? Yup, guilty!

The story also includes many other characters; which some will be loved, and others will be hated. The shadow daddy? Delicious. Shadow Daddy’s bestie? Must be protected at all costs! He must be cherished as he is the exact comedic relief needed. The adorable companion character? Also need to be protected at all costs. Reminds me a lot of my trouble-making cat, honestly. Always up to something. The other three main side characters involve a variety. Two of whom can kick rocks with opened toed shoes. The third? Well, let’s just say he reminds me of the worst parts of Dain from Fourth Wing and can also join the kicking rocks with opened toe shoe club.

A Dragon So Savage does start off with a fantastic prologue, that I love. Please read it. This will help set you up with vital information for the rest of the book. Otherwise, the start of the main story is a bit slower paced, but once that momentum speeds up; it keeps a great pace. This book will have you on the edge of your seat. It is not for the faint of heart. You will probably want to laugh, cry, scream, and then foam at the mouth for book two when you finish this. There will be some unanswered questions by the end of book one. This will NOT be the only book; so, I am sure we will get more answers as the story continues.

I cannot recommend this book enough. It truly owns a part of my soul, and the author has so much of my heart in her hands. She is on my instant buy list.

Below are some quotes to give you a taste.. Do not continue to read this review if you do not want to read them.

A Dragon So Savage by @author_kchristine is Book One in her A Wrath and Revenge Series and this book started off this series magically. ADSS is K.Christine's debut novel and the start to this series. ADSS is a Romantic Fantasy filled with darker themes that contains dragon shifters, humans, and fae with a unique magic system, and multiple realms. K. Christine created beautiful world building within her book, tension, banter, interesting character dynamics, and a deadly quest for Amalia we get to follow along on. This novel is filled with emotion and made me feel them all throughout the story following Amalia, our strong and a bit sassy FMC. Let's just say she doesn't take crap from anyone even our Dark Shadowy Dragon Shifter MMC Knox who would quite literally burn the world for her and anyone who stands to hurt her. K.Christine had me fully invested in this story within a few chapters with the world she built within the story and the dynamics between the characters. She doesn't hold back with her beautiful world building and details so I felt I could really picture what the characters look like, felt, and saw. She definitely kept me going with twists and turns within the characters' dynamics, motives, and relationships as more came into play within the story. I had moments of true sadness within some of the darker moments of the story but also felt moments of light laughter with the banter between the characters as well as intrigue into piecing together what was happening around Amalia, and anticipation to see where the story would take me. I loved the dynamic between Knox and Amalia from the start and seeing it unfold before me all while watching Amalia come into her strength and pushing forward through the darkest of times along with the many events she had to endure that most would crumble from under the pressure of it all. I can't wait to see where K.Christine takes this series in her next books because I will definitely be keeping an eye out when they come because I need to know what's next!

A huge thank you to K. Christine for the ARC and the amazing PR box! 💌🫶🏽
It was such an honor to discover this story in every possible way and to be part of its journey before release. I can’t wait for this book to finally land in your hands too and we’re so close!📚

"A Dragon So Savage" was such a wonderful surprise.
The moment I read that it was a fantasy about dragon shifters, I knew I would fall for it, and I absolutely did. It’s the perfect book for anyone approaching the fantasy genre, fast-paced and completely engaging!

In this story, we follow Amalia, who wakes up to a new and terrifying reality, a world where no human has survived the shimmer, as she calls it.
Alone in the same village that once sheltered her, she finds only one familiar face: a childhood friend, a prince who once sought refuge there after being banished by his father, the King.

He’s the one who tells Amalia the truth, no one from their village made it, and "No human should have been able to survive that".

Heartbroken and confused, Amalia has no choice but to follow him back to the royal palace in search of safety. But from the moment she leaves her old home behind, her path is filled with danger, strange creatures, and revelations that will shake everything she thought she knew.

The legends she grew up hearing might not have been legends after all. Maybe there was more truth hidden in those old stories than she ever imagined.

Throughout the book, we watch Amalia grow, chapter by chapter, as she learns who to trust, how to fight, and how to survive in a world that was never meant for her.
She’s just twenty-three, yet she’s thrown into a battle for her life, her identity, and her place in a land that sees her as something impossible.

Because after all…no human was ever supposed to survive this. Right? 🐉

In this story, you’ll meet incredible characters, and I can’t wait for you to fall for some of my favorites, like a playful best friend and a dark, mysterious, misunderstood one that completely stole my heart.👀

It’s also important to note that this is just the first book in the series, and I can’t wait to keep following these characters’ journey!

Once again, thank you so much to the author for the honor of being part of this story’s growth. We’re so close now, and I can’t wait for you all to love this book as much as I did! 🫶🏽

A Dragon So Savage is a dark, richly imagined fantasy that pulled me in with its layered storytelling and complex characters. K. Christine builds a world that feels lived-in and dangerous, where every alliance comes at a cost and every choice leaves a scar. The political tension and lore are handled beautifully—intricate without ever feeling overwhelming—and I found myself completely absorbed in the unfolding chaos. Literally imagine "falling" into the story once you crack open the book. It is fast paced, but in a thrilling way!

What stood out most to me were the moral gray areas the characters navigate. No one here is simply good or evil; everyone operates in shades of survival, ambition, and grief. The romance element is present, but not forceful —it never overshadows the story but instead deepens it, adding emotional texture to the darker themes of loyalty and power.

Christine’s prose is confident and evocative, with moments that feel almost poetic amidst the grit. The pacing felt deliberate, each chapter revealing just enough to keep me invested without rushing toward resolution. It’s the kind of fantasy that rewards patience and attention, where even small details end up carrying weight later on.

Overall, A Dragon So Savage is a compelling and mature fantasy that strikes a satisfying balance between heart and brutality. It’s atmospheric, thoughtful, and full of quiet intensity—perfect for readers who enjoy morally complex worlds that don’t hand out easy answers.

Thank you K. Christine for the ARC! Thoughts are my own! I can't wait for the world to read this book, and I can't wait to see what is in store next :)

Amalia grew up on stories about dragons and fae. But they are just fairytales, right?

Her entire village gets shrouded in death after a mysterious diamond dust looking shower. Amalia and her friend Lane survive by some miracle. Lane, who is a banished prince, decides to take her to his kingdom in the search for answers.

Amalia is thrust into a world she has only read in fairytale books. King Tatum gives her a deadly ultimatum that sends her on a perilous journey across the forgotten lands. But she will not be alone. The group consists of the charismatic goofy Bash, the shadow daddy Knox, the changed Prince Lane, the mean girl Blaire and her companion Kuma. Amalia must face trials and make life altering decisions. Along the journey she learns who she can and cannot trust. Secrets and betrayals around every corner.

This story was so much fun reading and kept me entranced. Magical and mysterious. Intriguing and spicy.

Bash is my favorite character. He is so silly! You will instantly fall in love with him.

Hottest scene is the cave springs. Like wow! 🥵

This book left on a cliffhanger. Looking forward to the second book.

This book was written so beautifully! I absolutely ate it up! And I will be thinking about it for a while!

If you love Romantic Fantasy with:

•Dragon Shifters
•Forced Proximity
•Strong & resilient FMC
•Morally Gray MMC
•Secrets & Betrayels
•Touch Her & Die
•Quests & Trials
& so much more! Then you have to read this one!

I love Amalia! She is one of my new fav FMCs. The way she takes her pain and heartbreak and uses it as a strength is so inspiring to me. She’s resilient, smart & loyal. Maybe a little morally gray herself? 🤔🤭 We see a lot of her growth throughout the book and I can’t wait to see more of what she is capable of when we get book 2!

Knox is our morally gray MMC. He is a touch her and die kind of man. He will protect what’s his, at all costs. And go to great lengths to make her happy!

I love the adventure A Dragon So Savage takes us on. I love the dragon shifters, and Amalias cute dragonfly companion. I just adored this entire book. And I cannot wait for book 2!

I want to thank K.Christine for gifting me this Arc. I can see her kindness, strength and caring nature in Amalia. And in other aspects of her writing. And I’m so honored to have gotten to know her a little bit and be a part of her first book!

I’m excited for what’s to come because I’m missing it already! 🥰🙌🏼

I, the slayer of sharks, tamer of dragons will say this on the top of my lungs on how much I love anything with dragons in it. Especially dragon shifters. 🐉 And honestly? This book completely blew me away. It’s so much better than the Empyrean series — more enjoyable, more gripping, and it had me hooked by the end of the first chapter.

The FMC, Amaila, became my favorite main character being so relatable of making jokes out of a bad situation, I do that myself. She became one of my favorite heroines. The growth and journey through the book as she found her strength and strong willed to survive to getting her hands dirty.

Now, Lane… I’m not going to lie, I never fully trusted him. Something about him felt off from the very beginning. I just wish some of the secrets he’s holding had been revealed, but I’m hoping we’ll get more answers in the next book.
And the romance? The spice? Absolute chef’s kiss 😘

Just love the banter between Knox and Amaila and Bash ? He just a loveble cinnamon role that needs to be protected at all cost.

Thank you K.Christine for the Arc. Anything you write will be an instant buy for me. Your writing and story telling was just kept me hooked and especially when I had to put the book down to do other things it felt like when I came back I picked up right where I stopped. I’m excited for book two.

Oh My Dragons! What an incredible adventure! A Dragon So Savage is a dark romantic fantasy set in a crumbling world, where an ancient war rages between Humans, Dragons, and Fae. Filled with secrets, half truths, and an intriguing love triangle, this story had me hooked from the very first line. I absolutely loved it 🔥 Thank you K. Christine for the advance copy! That ending was incredible! I seriously can’t wait for the next book!

Amalia is a survivor, when everyone she ever knew didn't make it. Why? She doesn't know. Now, her only hope lies in trusting her last remaining friend, Lane, who promises to take her to safety in his own Kingdom. But once there, Amalia must learn who to trust, starting with Lane's brother Knox, a handsome yet mysterious man, who may be hiding more than he reveals.

When the tyrant King Tatum sends her on a journey to find special artifacts, Amalia and her companions must face multiple dangers and keep fighting to survive, even knowing she's just a "little human".

“You cannot cease to live and experience this world simply because others left it.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

After surviving an incident that wipes out her entire kingdom, Amalia is forced on a quest by the dragon king as her life hangs in the balance. Accompanied by friend, foe, and lover, allegiances will be tested as the fate of the realm hangs in the balance.

What to expect:
✨Fated mates
✨Dragon shifters
✨Political intrigue
✨War between dragons, fae, & humans
✨Quest to collect items

I enjoyed that K. Christine’s writing is immersive. She had a way of making me feel all of the things - love, hate, disgust, grief. I genuinely cared about my favorite characters and was appalled by the villain(s).

The romance between Amalia and Knox is just so so sweet. We love a “touch her and ☠️” MMC. But at the same time, he is deeply caring and gentle with Amalia. He goes out of his way to give her closure and ease her pain.

At times it did feel as though certain magical elements did not have established precedent. Examples would lead to spoilers, but the FMC seems to suddenly develop abilities at certain points when the writer otherwise needs to communicate an idea to the audience.

Overall, I enjoyed A Dragon So Savage and I am curious to know what happens in the next book!

Oh my dragons what just happened?! That was me by the end of the book!! 🤭 I have to admit it started off a little slow for me but once things kicked off I was hooked!! Like it was late at night and I was so tired but I just wanted to keep reading!
