Seaside Summers #8

Seaside Whispers

Rate this book
Seaside Summers is a series of stand-alone romances that may also be enjoyed as part of the larger Love in Bloom series.

Fall in love with Matt Lacroux in Seaside Whispers. SEASIDE SUMMERS is the newest addition to the LOVE IN BLOOM series, featuring a group of fun, sexy, and emotional friends who gather each summer at their Cape Cod cottages. They're funny, flawed, and will have you begging to enter their circle of friends.

Having a mad crush on her boss’s son, Matt Lacroux—an intriguing mix of proper gentleman and flirtatious bad boy—is probably not the smartest idea for single mother Mira Savage. Especially when the company, and her job, is already on shaky ground. But as a Princeton professor, Matt’s life is hours away from Mira’s home on Cape Cod, keeping him safely in the fantasy-only zone. And as a single mother to six-year-old Hagen, with a floundering company to save, fantasies are all she has time for.

With hopes of becoming dean off the table, and too many months of longing for a woman who lived too far away to pursue, Matt’s publishing contract couldn’t have come at a better time. He heads home to Cape Cod on a brief sabbatical, intent on starting his book, and finally getting his arms around sweet, seductive Mira.

A surprise encounter leads to white-hot passions and midnight confessions. The more time Matt and Mira spend together, the deeper their relationship grows, and the love and attention Matt showers on Hagen is more than she has ever dreamed of. But Matt’s sabbatical is only temporary, and Mira’s not saving his father’s company so she can leave it behind. Will their whispers of love be enough for one of them to change their life forever?

SEASIDE WHISPERS is the eighth book in the Seaside Summers series. It’s a Contemporary small-town romance that is filled with heat and heart. Out of all of Melissa Foster’s series, this series is definitely my favorite because of it’s sweetness and also it’s beachy setting.

The heroine of this book is a single mother who finally has a rare night off so she takes advantage of it and spends it with a hunky professor who knows exactly how to charm her.

Matt is sweet but he also has that bad boy vibe to him as well so I found him to be very delicious. I loved the slow pace of this book and the various romantic elements that Foster puts into this book. I found it so easy to escape into this novel and just stop worrying about my daily life stresses. With this book I was able to relax and escape to the beachside and just fall in love. That’s why these books have been my favorite to read, especially SEASIDE WHISPERS.

There are a few appearances of other past characters but they shouldn’t interfere too much if you decide to read this as a standalone. The romance is what really shines about this book. However, I also really like Foster’s humor and writing in this one as well. Foster’s books are always quick reads for me, but depending on which series you’re reading, the tone changes to suit the genre and characters better.

Mira Savage met Matt Lacroux at wedding about a year ago and sparks flew. A few chance occasion since then they have hung out together with her son, Hague. Trouble is he is a Princeton professor who lives in NJ and she is a bookkeeper who works in Cape Cod... for his dad!

Now on sabbatical, Matt is town for 3 months. She couldn't stop thinking of him and apparently he couldn't stop thinking about her. And her son. Matt not only cherishes her but her son. Hague is unique in that he is smart, quirky, sweet little boy who wants to know everything and has the attention span to forcus on that.

A few dates, together and as a threesome with Hague and she is smitten. He is too. But, alas, the 3 months are over in a blink....will Matt go back? Especially when his dream job, once thought unattainable, is gifted to him?

Love the sweet romance of this series. No darkness, no major twist, just true romance with a deep, well written set of characters. Maybe a little to "good" of people, but a great series.

Matt Lacroux decides to take a sabbatical from teaching at Princeton. His dream of becoming Dean is slipping away, however he’s just signed a major book deal. He decides to return home to Seaside for 3 months of downtime. In addition to writing, he plans to pursue his father’s employee, Mira. Mira is a single parent and not looking to complicate her family life. She’s definitely attracted to Matt, but refuses to believe they can have a relationship since he's only in town temporarily. The two of them have been circling each other for over a year. It’s finally time to see where their attraction leads.

What I liked: Matt is sexy, patient, great with kids, and smart. The easy friendship between these character was enjoyable. For fans of the series who have watched the relationship develop, it will be wonderful to finally see them come together. Mira’s character is very true to life. Every thought and experience she has is centered around creating a stable and loving environment for her son. She’s a mother first and foremost. The story focuses on her freeing herself and becoming comfortable with going after what she wants.

“She wanted him for a night, for a week, for three months. She’d take whatever she could get and deal with the aftermath later. Tonight she wasn’t just a mother. She was a woman.”

 photo SSW_Teaser7.jpg

As a busy mom, I can definitely relate! Most times practicality wins out, but sometimes you have to take care of yourself first and just feel. I enjoyed watching Mira finally let her walls down and allow Matt to care for her and Hagen.

What didn’t work for me: As much as I enjoyed Mira’s character and could relate from the mom perspective, it detracted from the romance. Mira’s son Hagen got a little too much airtime in this book. He was totally cute, but I read to escape real life. I can get those type of interruptions without picking up a book. Just my opinion. :D
Also, the “secret savior” bit through me for a loop. I was like “What the Wah”?!

Overall, Seaside Whispers is relatable, real, sexy, sweet, and hopeful. It’s well-written and true to life, with a few minor exceptions. Fans of the series will not be disappointed. The book reads well as a stand-alone, but I’d suggest reading the entire series since previous couples appear throughout.

In true Melissa Foster form, she has once again delivered a spectacular fell good romance full of heart! I'm not gonna lie and say that every single book I've read by her has been for me, but no matter what, she writes a flawless plot with deeply developed characters and story-line. EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Matt Lacroux took an instant like to Mira Savage the moment he met her. However, it was impossible to pursue her because they lived so far away from each other ... until they didn't :)

I fell in love instantly with both Matt and Mira and don't even get me started on little Hagan!!! Matt was ever so charming and sweet and just swoony! Mira herself was just as sweet and beautiful on the inside and outside! They made for a kismet pair! Hagan was absolutely adorable and added just the right sprinkle to the story to make your heart sing thru the pages. You will not be able to put this down once you start. The story flows so easily thru the pages that you will find yourself ending the story and not knowing time has passed by. I really loved it. Low on angst and high on love :) #perfect

One of my favorite Seaside books. Matt and Mira have one of the best love stories. Matt is a professor at Princeton who is on sabbatical to write a book. Mira is a single mom who works for Matt's dad at the family hardware store. These two live completely different lives. Mira is focused on her son and Matt is focused on his book and trying to become dean of the School of Social Science.

What Matt finds is priorities change and what was once important to him is not as important as family and those you love. I am a big fan of single parent stories and this one does not disappoint. Melissa Foster did a great job on this one as did BJ Harrison who narrates. BJ always makes you feel like you are right there in the middle of all the action and gives you all the feels.

Seaside Whispers by Melissa Foster is book #8 in the Seaside Summer series and it can be read as a stand-alone. Like all the other books in the series, this is about family, love, and friendship. What I have come to realise since starting this series you may not be able to stop at just one book. The moment you begin this series you may be compelled to continue to the end.

I have read several books written by this author and the thing that stands out the most are her characters. I find that they are well developed, likable and easy to connect with. This installment was no different. The moment I was introduced to Matt and Mira, I couldn’t help but love them both.

Matt is a college professor at Princeton and is currently on Sabbatical. He returned home to the Cape where he would have the chance to re-connect with his family and friends. During this time, he planned to re-evaluate both his professional and personal life. Matt is the type of person that would stop at nothing to protect those he love. He would even go out of his way to help a complete stranger when the need arises. These traits helped to enhance his sex appeal.

Mira is a single mom and an accountant by profession. She has had her share of heartache in the past and was not looking to repeat the experience. Therefore, she felt the need to tread lightly where Matt was concerned. She liked him, but she was wary of getting deeply involved, especially as his return to the Cape was temporary. She was a cautious person, especially where her son was concerned. Every decision she made was done with him in mind.

The character that was the highlight of the story, in my opinion, is Hagen, Mira’s son. He was smart, funny and adorable. He helped to make the story that much sweeter.

The story offered up no surprises. I pretty much had an idea as to how things would unfold. What I enjoyed most about this story is the manner with which Matt treated Hagen. He included him in almost every plan he had with Mira. He treated him like he was his own son. Their interaction created a warm feeling within me.

I liked everything about this book. However, there was one aspect of the story that I wished the author had provided more details on. This was in relation to an incident that occurred in Matt’s past. I was hoping that the issue would have been resolved, helping him to come to terms with his guilt.

Verdict:
If you are a fan of romance stories that are sweet and hot, but low on drama then you will enjoy Seaside Whispers.

Family comes first

5**** scorching stars

Seaside Whispers is a love story about family. Yes, there’s the main couple’s love story going on, but the theme of this book is family. It permeates the whole narrative, which isn’t a surprise if you have ever read Foster’s books. She has a talent for spinning stories centered on family ties and values. In Seaside Whispers, love and family move the story along. There are abundant scorching hot, sexy scenes to make your toes curl, but they are the backdrop for the real action, which revolves around a gorgeous Princeton professor searching for his real call in life and a single mother fighting to save her surrogate-family’s business, while raising her exceptionally intelligent six-year-old son. All the while, Matt and Mira are surrounded by close and extended family and friends.
Although this is book 8 in the Seaside Summers series, it’s the first I read, which didn’t make any difference because Melissa Foster introduced the other characters so deftly I felt like I already knew them. The fact they are so realistic and likeable also helped me connect with them.
Meeting Matt Lacroux and not falling in love with him is utterly impossible. I’ll use Foster’s own words to make my case:
“I’ve never met a man like you.” - “I’ve never been this man until now. Until you.” How can a woman resist hearing that? Or this: “My body has been known to evoke otherworldly experiences.” Or this: “There’s all kinds of sexy going on with you. The kind of sexy that makes a smart man go dumb.” I wouldn’t. Especially if I were a single mom, like Mira, and happened to have the man of my dreams trying to involve my son in as many activities as he could just for the sake of being with my son. And have I mentioned Matt is drop-dead gorgeous? And a professor at Princeton? He is just perfect. After all, I totally agree with Mira that “smart boys are the best kind of boys there are”.
I recommend Seaside Whispers for all romantics looking for a heart-warming, toe-curling, sexy read. Just don’t follow my lead and start reading it late at night. You’ll be up until the wee hours because this book is impossible to be put down. I read it in one sitting just because I couldn’t get enough of Matt, Mira and Hagen.

Matt had me at hello. This was a sweet, loving, adoring man. He was protective and amazeballs and when he was with Hagan ladies you will melt. I mean really melt. His love for that sweet adoring inquisitive little boy will just capture you. He was so patient with him but his willingness to include him in what he and his mom did and how he loved that little guy and did things with him was just just awww….swooony. That is what made him sexy. Not his looks but his heart and way he was with Hagan. Don’t get me wrong he was sexy in other ways but that brought him over the moon sexy.

the only angst you really get is the angst in Mira’s mind. She overthinks and worries. I think that is a mom trait though. She didn’t want to let anyone in that could hurt the heart of her and her son. She was a terrific mom and smart too. I love how she wanted to help Matt’s dad and considered him part of the family even before she fell for Matt.

these two are so adorable. Matt with his confusion in where he is in his life. He is at a crossroads in terms of his professional life. He has achieved so much and is now sitting at a lag. He can’t go further in his career but doesn’t know if he wants it to stay the same. He seems tired and sad. Going home to write his book, invigorates him and puts peace in his heart and soul. he reconnects with family and finds his way. He also finds love. Love with Hagan and Mira. He wants to have love, life and laughter in his world. Mira, Hagan and his family grounds and centers him. He feels whole again.

this was a sweet, beautiful and wonderful story of two people who have a off the charts attraction. We have such sentimental moments with Hagan and Matt. We have romantic moments with Matt and Mira. And we such support and respect from Matt for Mira and vice versa. I love how he believes in her and encourages her. A amazing story of love and finding peace and happiness within. About making change and seeing it is what is needed for you to be happy.

This story is very sweet. One of the things I like about Melissa Foster’s books is she doesn’t have her characters respond in an over the top way to little things like a lot of romance authors tend to do. Yet in this story it was almost like there wasn’t enough conflict.

Matt and Mira both had reservations, sure. Matt thought he was just taking a break from teaching and would be leaving soon. Mira has to worry about her son’s attachment to someone who wouldn’t be sticking around. I love how Matt reassures Mira constantly and I do believe her reservations are valid as a mother. It was pretty early on that it was obvious Matt was going to make the relationship work regardless of his career path.

The relationship between Matt and Mira’s son Hagen is probably my favorite part of this book. I love a man who is good with kids! Especially with kids who remind me of my oldest (who is now an adult) that to this day many don’t understand. Matt gives Hagen confidence to be who he is and that’s a beautiful thing. There was a bit that bugged me when Mira was afraid Hagen was being teased because he asked about being a nerd. That upset me because she automatically assumed being called a nerd is a bad thing. These days it is not the derogatory term it was in the 60’s. There is a sweet wrap up to that later in the book that made me feel better about that whole bit of story. That’s the thing with this author, she always seems to tie up her loose ends in a good way.

"He'd never been a greedy man, but when it came to Mira, he wanted it all. Her body, her heart, her future."

Oh me! Oh my!

There is nothing sexier than a book about a man that not only has love for a woman, but the love for her child too!

Matt Lacroux has pined over Mira Savage for over a year. She and her son, Hagen, have taken up his mind completely. And now that he's home for the summer, he is determined to prove what they mean to him.

"You deserve romance, and I want to be the man who gives it to you."

This book hit my mommy heart because of how much Mira lives her life to better her son's. She is always looking out for him and his well-being. And even though she's scared about letting a new man into her life, she can't get anybody better than Matt Lacroux!

Matt....good geez!
I wish I had a swoon button to push! My goodness!
Not only is he just a hunky book nerd *swoon*,
but he also can romance the pants off a woman without even trying *double swoon*!
Did I mention that the love and attention he shows to Hagen calls for a *triple swoon*?!

"You're so sexy, sunshine. You're killing me."
"There you go calling me sexy again and making my stomach flip. I haven't felt sexy in years."
"Trust me, sunshine. There's all kinds of sexy going on with you. The kind of sexy that makes a smart man go dumb."

*SWOON*

I adored this story so much!!

Another hit out of the park for Melissa Foster!
Matt, Mira, and Hagen are each such wonderful characters. They make the perfect little family. Can I be friends with them?!

"God, where did you come from? I've never met a man like you."
"I've never been this man until now. Until you."

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

Ms Foster has once again written a romance which blew me away. I laughed, hoped, worried, and enjoyed along with Matt, Mira and Hagen, and the rest of the gang. Combining the issues of a burned out academic with a single Mom who is deeply intelligent and caring, works brilliantly. The back story allowed Matt freedom to relax with Hagen; her brothers and his family being around to give a sense of stability and rightness; beautiful positioning of each character. I love the touches like the holding in of her stomach, his serious glasses being sexy. Just a pleasure to read from start to finish.

You really should just carve out some time and indulge in what is a really glorious love story. And if you are anything like me, make sure you have a tissue ready for some happy tears at the end!

Ps if you are new to these wonderful books, then let me reassure you - this book can be read as a single story and be a fabulous read. There are many, many Ms Foster books which all interlink, and you will meet some of the characters here, but there is no need to feel you should start at the beginning and then be overwhelmed by the number of them. Just pick this one up and then smile when you realise just how many other great books have just been added to your tbr pile.

Matt Lacroux has always been on a mission. A mission to achieve Dean of Social Sciences at Princeton, to help others around him and be the best academic he could be. He's had one focus and one focus only... that is until he went home for his brother's engagement party and meet Mira and her son Hagen. Instantly smitten with the single mom and her smart as a whip son.

Now a year later, Matt finds himself back home, ready to take on a new mission. Win the love of Mira Savage. He's kept in touch with her and has found that he was missing more out of life than he thought possible. With a book deal and three month sabbatical from Princeton, he's ready to see where things could go with Mira.

I love Matt in this book. We got to see the sexy professor in a whole new light and boy... there were some fan yourself moments! His love for not only Mira but for Hagen too, was the sexiest thing of all.

This was a take hold of you and never let go true romance book that left me with a huge smile.

It 's a very sweet and romantic story that warms the heart. The two main characters are adorable and perfect together.
Mira is a single mother of a beautiful child, Hagen. Her father doesn't want them but fortunately they have her brothers and Matt's father that she works for and supports her. She's in love with Matt, but she never thought that he reciprocated. Matt instead loves her very much and wants her and her son are happy. But he must to make a delicate decision.
Matt is a great guy, sexy, generous, loyal, intelligent, a person who provides stability and security. Mira is a very sweet and present mum. I like very much that they have involved the child in their history. Hagen is a nerd who loves to read, impossible not to love him.
It was a truly enjoyable and engaging reading, I could not put it down. There are very funny moments, some very sweet and almost touching. It's perfect to read at any time of day and year.
I recommend it to all lovers of romance and Melissa Foster.

4/5 Stars!!!

Another great book from Melissa Foster! The great writing you have come to love with more fantastic characters, Seaside Whispers will have you swooning.

Matt is bound to academia by choice. He is a professor at prestigious Princeton, but decides to take a sabbatical to his hometown to write. While home, he meets single mom Mira, and her son, Hagen. Suddenly, Matt's dreams for the further look a little different.

Mira is a great character. Single mom, strong, puts her son first. Matt is sexy and a gentleman with a bit of bad boy hidden away.

It is no secret that I love Melissa Foster's books. I say it with every review. Seaside Whispers was sweet, steamy and fun and I loved it!

This book is exactly what I needed in this cold December. You may know already that I love Melissa Foster’s books. There hasn’t been a single one that I haven’t liked. She has a way of taking you into the story and making you feel a part of it. I could feel myself on the beach and in the warmth of the sun.

This story has lots of romance, and fun. It’s a strong story with some twists. I also love all of the great characters! I don’t want to say much because I most definitely don’t want to ruin it for you. But I am going to say that the ending of this story left me wanting more!

Is a very interesting book. It's a book I can actually relate to. Touching on the subject of being a single parent and what you look for in a partner. How your children are your number #1 priority. There was a wave of emotions that the characters ( Mira and Matt) and reader go through. This book shows how this Author (Melissa Foster) has a unique ability to transport her readers in to the book. Absolutely wonderful read.

Seaside Whispers (Love in Bloom Book #38) by Melissa Foster.
The Love in Bloom series proved to be a heartwarming journey through love, family, and personal growth. Spanning multiple interconnected series/stories, it offers a wonderful blend of romance, humor, and emotional depth that kept me reading the whole way through.
Ms. Foster crafted fully developed, relatable, and multidimensional characters who added an extra element of emotion and interest to my overall reading experience. The heroes are fiercely loyal and endearing, while the heroines are smart, empowered, and refreshingly ‘real’. Each character feels like someone you could know in real life, making their struggles and triumphs, high and lows, all the more impactful.
The stories have a perfect balance of steamy romance mixed with heartfelt moments. But that doesn’t mean that Ms. Foster shies away from exploring deeper themes like forgiveness, self-discovery, and the complexities of relationships – adding dynamic layers to the storyline/s. But, despite the emotional depth, the series still maintains more of a lighthearted charm, sprinkled with humor and tender family connections.
While each novel can be read as a standalone, there is an interconnectedness with the recurring characters and overlapping storylines - which help create a sense of community that feels warm and inviting. It’s like being welcomed into a big, loving family where everyone has a worthwhile story to tell.
‘Within the Love in Bloom big-family romance collection you'll find fiercely loyal heroes and smart, empowered women on their search for true love. They're flawed, funny, and easy to relate to. Characters from each series appear in future Love in Bloom books…’
If you are a fan of contemporary romance or simply looking for a feel-good series to escape into, this series is a worthwhile binge read…
Love in Bloom is made up of the following series:
- Snow Sisters
- The Bradens (Weston, CO)
- The Remingtons
- The Bradens (Trusty, CO)
- The Bradens Novellas Collection
- The Bradens (Peaceful Harbor, MD)
- Seaside Summers

Instead of doing what other professors do when they're on a sabbatical—go to a mountain cabin or a nice resort-somewhere quiet— he could've even went to his cottage on Nantucket, Matt came home to Cape Cod and rented his friends' cottage in the Seaside community for the summer, to write his book. Why? Because he missed his family, his father wasn't getting any younger. Plus in honor of their mother, his siblings were getting married on her birthday which was only two months away. But there's also one specific person he'd like to reconnect with, who'd occupied his thoughts since last summer Mira Savage (and her adorable son Hagen), who worked for his father. Since his brother Grayson's engagement party they'd seen each other during his brief visits home, and in between they'd send an occasional text but nothing more. Matt had taken this time to really get to know her, spend time with her and Hagen, and to build her trust in him, for almost a year, but they'd certainly not gone on an official date! She's a woman who shouldn't be smothered, but taken care of and protected. Keeping his hands to himself had been extremely tough, but this inquiring little boy and his sexy mother were always on his mind.
Mira has fantasizes about Matt whispering Sunshine (his nickname for her) in her ear since last summer. Matt is a combination flirty bad boy but also a gentleman, what a lethal combination! Dating becomes a nightmare when you've got a son, she wants a man who's not only reliable but patient. However she still wants to be treated like a woman who wants to learn the sexy pleasures of life again. Mira has had many dreams where the texting between her and Matt might lead to something more, but no such luck, but now that he's back on the Cape for the summer.....
What happens between Matt & Mira during the summer? Could anything go beyond the summer considering he's a professor at Princeton? You'll have to read SEASIDE WHISPERS to find out! SEASIDE WHISPERS is not only my first Love in Bloom Series book, but my first Melissa Foster. WoW what an amazing way with words! This is an amazing love story of finally coming home to realize what TRUELY important! AWESOME!! I cannot wait to read the complete series as well as MANY others she's written alone or cowritten with other authors I love reading! I received an ARC via Tasty Book Tours in exchange for an honest blog tour review. Due to explicit sexual content and adult language this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older.

Seaside Whispers is the newest addition to the Seaside Summers mini series, although it's book 8, it can be easily read as a standalone.

Mira is a single mom totally dedicated to her six year old son, Hagen. She works for Matt's father at his hardware store and she's focused on helping to turn the store profitable again. She has a huge crush on Matt since they met, a year ago, at his brother Grayson's engagement party. Mira thinks that her crush on Matt is a terrible idea for several reasons: he's her boss's son, he lives hours away from Cape Cod and she doesn't have much time to date because her son is always her top priority.
Matt is a hot Princeton professor and the last single Lacroux. He works very hard and he doesn't has much time to spend with his family, but suddenly his goal to become dean is off the table, which makes him take a three month sabbatical to write a book, so he returns home to do it. He wants to spend time with his family and after seeing his brothers fall in love, he's beginning to wonder if he's got his priorities right, after all he can't stop thinking about Mira. It's time to give their connection a chance, if only he can convince Mira to let him in her heart... and Hagen's.
I really don't think Matt and Mira's relationship started too fast, this is definitely not a insta-relationship, they've been circling each other for a year, Matt has been flirting with Mira every chance he got, so everything happens naturally between the two of them. I loved how Seaside Whispers is so much more than a contemporary romance, the sense of family in this story is absolutely perfect, I loved how Matt kept including Hagen in everything, how he was head over heels not only with Mira but with Hagen too. I think there were tears in my eyes while I was reading their moments together and how the three of them fit perfectly as a family.

I have to admit Melissa Foster never ceases to amaze me. When I started reading I actually expected a different type of hero, I definitely didn't expect Matt to have such a dirty mouth and I loved every second of it!

Seaside Whispers is the perfect, steamy, sweetest, low-angst, dreamy romance with characters so real that you can't help falling in love with all of them! If you love romance, I highly recommend it.

I thought Seaside Whispers was a disappointing final story to the Seaside Summer series I had loved from the beginning when I met Leanna, Bella, Jenna and Amy, those wonderful, crazy Seaside Girls. Mira was a sweetheart as a somewhat sexually innocent single mom learning to rediscover her sexuality and be a mom, and Matt was a good guy and atypical M. Foster romance novel hero with his finger combed hair, deep piercing eyes and studly physique, although I tired of his bedroom dirty talk even if Mira didn't. My biggest problem with Matt and Mira's story was it was so totally predictable almost from the very beginning. Half way through the book I knew Matt would give up his full time teaching position at Princeton to write books so he could stay with Mira and her son whom he'd adopt as his own. I could predict they'd quickly marry because unlike the other couples in the series who seemed in no hurry to march down the aisle once engaged, they couldn't just shack up and live together until they felt like getting married because of Mira's son. See Hugh Braden's and Brianna's another single mom's story in the Bradens of Weston Co. series. Could a quadruple marriage with Matt and Mira joining his other unmarried siblings who were already planning a triple wedding be in the offing? Just like the Seaside Girls all got married in the same ceremony. I think maybe. And I could also predict that Matt's dad Neil could now retire leaving the family hardware store business in the capable hands of his new daughter-in-law Mira and son Matt keeping it in the family. There's foreshadowing to give readers a hint at what's to come, but there was nothing subtle in the hints the author left in this story. My other issue with this story was Matt's so called "dirty talk" which we're told really turned Mira on. Do women really get turned on by their men saying things like, "I can't wait to see your mouth around my cock?" This wasn't a terrible book, it just wasn't all that appealing to me. Having read all of the Braden stories (Weston, Trusty and Pleasant Harbor), the Remingtons and Seaside Summer stories I think I've had my fill of the Love in Bloom series in general. It was a fun ride but all good things must come to an end eventually.

**4.5 Stars**

This isn’t my first book by Melissa Foster and won’t be my last. I love her writing style. Everything just flows and easy to read. We have love and family, we have show stealers, *coughs Hagan*. I adored Hagen. When reading Melissa Foster books you feel like you are right there in the thick of things. I love reading about her men and how they love their women. This one is no different. You just get sucked in from start to finish.

Matt is a professor and goes home for sabbatical to write a book. He had two goals, become the Dean of Students and write a book. He is feeling like he needs a change or a bit burned out. So when the chance comes up he goes home. Then enters Mira, who works for his father at the family hardware store. He has known her for a year, they met at his brother's engagement party. They flirted around a bit through texts and emails throughout that year and laid their foundation. Mira is concerned about her job if things go south with Matt, not to mention her heart or Hagen. She puts her son first. He is her priority.

The chemistry is there. It was a very slow burn. They have been friends and both want more but are afraid. After all Matt is only home for the summer. They don’t just jump straight in, they build. I loved the build. In this time we get to see Matt and Mira, with a side of Hagen. I loved how Matt was with Hagen. He is an inquisitive child and Matt never gets frustrated with him. I love how Matt wants nothing more than to be everything for Mira that he can be, and what she will allow. Their friendship never falters and Matt never falters in his quest. He is there for her every step of the way. When the danger of losing the hardware store happens that is when Mira steps in with help to save it. These two fall hard for each other and Matt actually falls hard for Hagen as well. I love reading about a man and the love they share with the mother and child. Its heartwarming. I’m so glad I got to read Matt’s story.

Faszinierend
