There is no darkness that can equal the evil that lies within the human soul. No monster as terrifying as those we find in the ones we trust. No pain as searing as that which comes from betrayal.
Step into the world of Zombies, Vampires, Aliens, and Oddities if you dare.
Good luck.
And pray you don't get lost...

Short story collections are a positive reminder of the fact that you don't need to write an entire book to rock the foundations of someone's world or to leave a lasting impression. Although it has a mix of supernatural and non-supernatural, the works do a good job of exploring each aspect of human psyche. The last story, Phase One, is not something I'm going to forget anytime soon. 3.5 stars.
If you want a taste of aliens, vampires, apocalyptic, horror stories, you have come to the right place!! Michael Robertson's writing is darker but so satisfying. I prefer it as life isn't always rainbows and unicorns. It is gritty and ugly at times. Like some of these stories. My favorites are the vampire, zombie, death ones. But it isn't death like you think. You must read it for yourself. Makes one stop and think. Which I did and still do when it plays again in my mind. The aliens are somewhat like us. The vampires, forget Twilight and sparkles. Not here, not in his world. I can't express how much you need to grab this, turn off your phone, turn down the lights and maybe, lock your doors. You will be amazed, and SCARED! Then buy his other books and give yourself up to a very satisfying journey along with him and his world. Oh..............you're welcome.

This is a collection of short stories by the author. The stories temd to be dark in theme for the most part. It goes beyond just facing monsters like zombies, aliens, and vampires. There is an air of hopelessness in most of the characters. They seem to be of the attitude that the best they will get to do is take a few of the monsters with them.
Now, this doesn't mean the stories are bad, just dark. In fact, most of the stories were enjoyable to me. It can actually be refreshing to read a story where the hero doesn't overcome impossible odds but still strives to do as much as they can.
