Luther has spent centuries mastering restraint. But Jade tests his limits from the moment she walks into town; sharp-tongued, soft-hearted, and smelling faintly of old books and temptation. He knows the risks of pulling her exposure, bloodshed, the unraveling of a delicate peace. But one taste of her laughter, one flash of those curious eyes, and he’s already losing control.
He was never supposed to fall. She was never supposed to stay. But in a town built on secrets, desire might be the deadliest one of all.

Review: This book was steamy and funny! I really loved the chemistry and banter between Jade and Luther! I think this one is my favorite pair so far in this series! Also I really enjoyed the fact that the mate bond for each couple isn’t the same it makes things more interesting!
Thank you so much to Booksirens for giving me the opportunity to read this book in advance!
"This woman was all passion contained in a tiny, well-clothed package."
I loved how Jade piqued Luther's interest from the first moment he sees her. He tries to keep his distance but it's pretty impossible. When he realises what's happening to him, I liked that he was all in.
"He felt like standing too close to a live wire. Beautiful. Dangerous. Charged."
Jade is attracted to Luther against her will but I liked that she was made of stern stuff. She accepted Belfry and it wasn't a stretch for her to accept Luther.
This story was so much fun, sexy, and intriguing but with a little bit of creepy factor. And, Belfry was a hoot! Loved it!
After her relationship and last position as a library consultant/book restoration specialist blew up in spectacular fashion, Jade finds herself in a moldy but remarkable jewel box of a library in a town where nothing and no one is quite as they seem. The books are exquisite and the broody, irascible shopkeeper who’s “helping” her is both infuriating and irresistible, but he runs so hot and cold toward her, she’s unsure what to think. Plus a tiny bat in a waistcoat and gold chain has been speaking to her in a big case of WTH…
Vampire and procurer of all needful things Luther assumed he’d have decades of his extremely long existence to restore the library but mayor Liz had other ideas, recruiting the luscious and exasperating Jade to do so with an assist from him. Didn’t Liz understand that merely being in the all too human Jade’s company is torment for him? A threat the town thought it had eradicated is looming again and making life less than idyllic. Will Luther be able to protect his town and Jade, who he’s come to recognize as his fated mate?
This steamy, by turns funny and adventurous read was great fun, and revisiting characters from the previous books was a joy as well.
I was fortunate to have been furnished an advance reader copy from the author and bookfunnel, and I’m sharing my honest review.
Fates keep uniting soulmates in Hillcrest Hollow. Jades arrives in town to restaur the library after some troubles in her last job. The library is next the general store, owned by Luther, the polished ancient vampire. There's a delicious banter and clash of wills and the bond is there....but a ancient creature lurks in the shadows. And Sunworld company didn't give up.... Add to that, the cuttest familiar of Luther,Belfry is a bat, wears a red vest ,a gold chain in his neck, loves a good gossip and even saves the day! A well written sweet love story with a delicious dash of humor, romance and a non-stop of action .While being a standalone, there's a rich and imaginative overarching plot that made me love this series and an excelent palate cleanser to darker readings.

He craves her. She tempts him. Something dark wants them.
Jade comes to Hillcrest Hollow to restore a forgotten library, not get tangled in the town’s buried secrets. She doesn’t expect the man behind the general store counter to be more shadow than substance or to make her feel seen in ways she never asked for. Luther is quiet, restrained, always watching, and unmistakably not human. But as the mystery around the town deepens, she realizes he’s the one she trusts when everything else starts to fall apart.
Luther’s spent centuries controlling what he is and hiding what he feels. He’s a vampire living in uneasy peace, and Jade’s presence threatens the fragile balance he’s built. Her questions dig deep, her presence pulls close, and the bond growing between them is older and stronger than either of them understands. As something ancient begins to stir beneath their feet, what started as temptation becomes a force neither of them can resist.
As the town unravels, so do the defenses around their hearts. Together, they’re forced to face not only the threat rising from the dark but the fear of what it means to truly need someone. In a world where secrets can kill and love is a risk, holding on to each other might be the bravest thing they do.
Jade starts out guarded and grounded, focused on her work and wary of anything that looks like distraction. But piece by piece, she steps into her power. Luther, worn down by time and solitude, lets himself hope again. What grows between them is slow, fierce, and anchored in choice, not just fate.
A dark, steamy, small town vampire romance with fated mates, magical bonds, a grumpy sunshine dynamic, and a bat familiar with zero chill, exploring identity, trust, belonging, love, sacrifice, transformation, and resilience. It’s about choosing each other even when it would be easier to run, and finding home in the person who never looks away.
The Elevator Pitch: A curious librarian stumbles into a hidden town where magic runs deep and nothing is what it seems. Drawn to a reclusive vampire with secrets older than the town itself, their slow burn connection ignites into something timeless and undeniable. As forgotten forces stir beneath the surface, love becomes both a weapon and a vow.
4.5 ⭐ I thought Gregory was a brooding grump but boy does Luther have him fighting for the top spot 😂 I was so happy to finally get this vampire's story and it did not disappoint! Grandma Liz did an amazing job when she picked Jade to come to the Hollow and restore the old library. Immediately put off by her presence and her attempt to break into the old building Luther sets off to scare Jade out of town. The general store owner with the big attitude is nothing compared to the hell of a smear campaign she left behind in Boston and Jade will be damned if she lets this guy and his grumpiness ruin her chance at fulfilling her dreams. She can handle the attitude, she can handle the sass, but she definitely is not expecting the bat that hangs out with Luther to suddenly start talking to her like this is just normal Tuesday stuff. Having a bond with his familiar lets Luther know without any doubt that this annoyingly beautiful woman is more than just a thorn in his side, but the woman that fate has deemed his, his mate. "Utterly, catastrophically inconvenient; that was what she was"
So many things about this were so good! I love that the mate bond manifests differently for each couple. They all feel it pull them differently and their natural instincts are unique to them and I really enjoy that. I love the banter between Luther and, well everyone, but the banter between him and Jade & him and Belfry was SO funny. I laughed out loud more than once. This series is doing wonders for my need to know what everyone has going on. So far 6 couples have been introduced and their stories are available in one way or another and I love, love, love that. The flow of time between stories has been awesome and I'm so invested in the underlying story and what's going on with this ancient evil that seems to be drawing soulmates into the Hollow. To feed off the magic of their bonds? To destroy them? Cannot wait to continue the story and find out!
I really enjoyed this book. This is the fourth book in the Hillcrest Hollow Shifters series. The interactions between Jade and Luther were great. Jade is in Hillcrest Hollow to restore the library. Luther, who owns the general store next to the library, was not informed by the mayor, Grandma Liz, that she had hired Jade for the job. When he noticed her snooping around the library, he thought she was trying to rob the place, and was in her face right away. This interaction had their relationship off to a bad start right away. When the mayor appeared, she informed him that he was to work closely with Jade to restore the library. With help from Belfry, his pet bat, he realized that Jade was his soulmate. I loved Belfry! Luther was the only one who could hear what Belfry said in his mind, and when Belfry found out Jade could also hear what he was saying in her mind, he was so excited. Once they got past their initial meeting, the chemistry grew between the two. Once Luther finally admitted Jade was his soulmate, he did an about-face and couldn’t do enough for Jade. He started doing little things to let her know he was a vampire, but Jade had already figured it out. This was an enjoyable read, and I enjoyed reading about all the other characters that reside in Hillcrest Hollow. I can’t wait to see who is next to find their soulmate. I received an advance review copy at no cost, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Bound to the Vampire is the fourth book in the Hillcrest Hollow Shifter Romance series, but it works perfectly well as a standalone. Even without having read the previous books, it’s easy to slip into the story and enjoy everything this cozy paranormal romance has to offer. The romance centers on a book restorer who comes to town and Luther, the well-loved vampire who runs the local general store. Hillcrest Hollow, of course, is a little more unusual than it appears, and watching the townsfolk try very hard not to act weird around her is genuinely funny and endearing. Add in a ridiculously cute bat sidekick, and the atmosphere becomes even more charming. The main characters start out firmly in enemies-to-lovers territory, with plenty of banter and friction before attraction slowly creeps in. The developing mate bond feels natural and sweet, and the transition from irritation to genuine connection is handled in a light, cozy way that fits the tone of the series perfectly. Overall, this is an absolutely lovely, heartwarming paranormal romance. It’s a cute, engaging addition to the Hillcrest Hollow world, full of small-town charm, supernatural quirks, and a romance that’s easy to root for. A great pick if you’re looking for something cozy, magical, and fun.

I can't get enough of this series! Jade and Luther are likeable and very convincing as soulmates. But it's Luther's lovable bat familiar who really stands out for me as one of my favourite characters. I love his little vests and his tendency to gossip. After all the trouble that Jade experienced with her ex, she was very lucky to be hired to work in the library at Hillcrest Hollow. Little does she know that it's a wonderful community of people who are all there for each other. She is not so happy at first, because she keeps butting heads with Luther, the hot vampire who owns the local general store. These two are opposites in a lot of ways, and opposites truly do attract. It turns out that Luther is practically a marshmallow inside, and he only wants to take care of her. In previous books he appeared rather cold, but it's important to get under the surface with him to see what he's really like. Hillcrest Hollow has a dark creature stalking it, and Luther and Jade, with their access to and love of the library, can help fight it. However, there are other factions who have their own interests in the outcome. I really enjoyed the action mixed in with the romance, as well as the feeling of found family. I'm excited to read the next book in this series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the fourth book in the series that I've read, and it's been such an entertaining ride witnessing the illustrious males of Hillcrest Hollow slowly but surely finding their fated mates one by one. But with the surge of several fated bonds being solidified in this isolated shifter town comes an ever-growing danger posed by a mysterious, evil creature only finally identified in this book. It's that growing threat that definitely keeps me hooked on the series, apart of course from wanting to know which supernatural member of Hillcrest Hollow will find his fated mate next and how their paths will cross.
Of the four books thus far, this installment saw the most physical action between the heroes and the bad guys. I'd enjoyed the touch-her-or-die vibes demonstrated by Luther (the MMC) in this book, which was a far cry from their initial distrustful regard for one another. One could certainly count on their soulmate connection to rapidly change their thoughts and feelings for one another. But perhaps the most entertaining character in this book had been Luther's trusted familiar, Belfry. He sure was small but terrible! Terribly sweet, feisty, and loyal!
I'm a grateful recipient of a free review copy of this book. I leave this review voluntarily.
Thank you BookSirens and Vala Stone for sending me this advance review copy for free. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Holy Moly, this is hands down the best book in the series so far!
There was so much delicious tension between Luther and Jade in the beginning. I wouldn't call it enemies to lovers, more along the lines of dislike to lovers. Once they get things figured out, their relationship is so sweet and cozy! Luther is so deeply loving under that snotty exterior.
I love our little telepathic bat familiar so much. Belfry is amazing at breaking up the tension with his witty humor. So dang cute!
I really enjoyed how we continue to interact with characters from the other books in the series, and also how well the plot was expanded in this book. We are starting to get more deep history of this world added with each book. I also enjoyed a certain someone getting what's coming to them too. They really deserved it, and I might have cheered at the end!
I can't wait to see what happens in the next book, and what pair will be next. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will the Thorne. That grumpy dude needs a mate so bad.
Overall, I enjoyed every minute of this cozy vampire book so much and it's a great addition to the series.
Having met everyone in Hillcrest Hollow already, I accepted a copy of this book.
Personally, I think that Luther was my second least favourite resident. I would be ecstatic to see a story about Arden, Drew, or Mikael! We know so little about them, but they seem so sweet and deserving of someone to share their space with. But, this was okay, too.
Luther is no longer so far down my list. I never imagined that he could be anything other than selfish. To see him caring for someone else unconditionally was mind-blowing. Despite his initial animosity towards Jade, he finally gave in and saw things for what they were. He could have explained things a little better to her, but I guess that just gave Belfry the chance to step up to the plate.
And Belfry! Oh my God! If I saw a bat wearing a tiny silk vest and necklace, I would probably check myself into an institution.
I love that the three of them are able to come together and love one another.
I'm not sure how happy I will be with the next book, however… He is my least favourite.
A librarian and a vampire with a telepathic bat familiar was not a combination I knew I needed, but Vala Stone's Bound To the Vampire completely won me over. The romance unfolds alongside a mystery, and the fated mates connection between a human and a vampire works beautifully. The couple feels genuinely well matched, but my absolute favorite part of the book is the familiar. It is impossible not to fall in love with a bat who wears a red silk vest and communicates telepathically. He steals every scene he is in.
This is not my first book from this author, but it is my first in this series. While it works well as a standalone, I loved the town and supporting cast so much that I already want to go back and read the rest. At around 300 pages, the story felt a little long in places, but that did not stop me from thoroughly enjoying it. I highly recommend this to readers who enjoy fated mates with a human and paranormal pairings and a touch of mystery woven into their romance.

This was a great addition to the Hillcrest Hollow Shifters series and while each book features a different couple and probably could be read as a standalone story it does have a continuous plot as well and is better appreciated as a series. This book is about Luther (vampire) & his human mate Jade. I really enjoyed their story as well as LOVED Luther's adorable bat familiar Belfry. I look forward to reading the next book in this series and hope I read the hints right and that it will be about Jane's friend Maggie & Thorne.

This series is unique, funny, sweet, exciting, and scorching hot! You will love the characters quirky personalities. Jade is a spunky Librarian who is also talented at restoration work. She gets fired from her last job. Which leads her to the Quirky town of Hillcrest Hollow. Jade does not know the town is inhabited by mostly paranormals! Before she meets with the Mayor who hired her. Jade goes to check out the Library. Only to find it boarded up. She walks out side the Library trying to find a way in. Luther is the Library Guardian he is also a vampire. He has a quirky bat as his familiar. The bat named Belfry is cute wearing a red vest and a golden chain. Belfry spots Jade and alerts Luther. Luther heads to the library to scare Jade off! Only it seems fate has plans for Jade and Luther. Especially after Belfry can mentally talk to Jade! The only other person who can her Belfry is Luther! You will love this five star plus series!
I loved every character and the one who stole my heart was Belfry who is Luther’s familiar and becomes Jade’s.
Jade is the new librarian who has arrived in Hillcrest Hollow to restore the library and take stock of the books. Luther in the general store owner and one sexy vampire. The towns magic weaves it around Jade and when a bat starts talking to her, she is shocked but it doesn’t completely surprise her.
Danger around the corner and evil trying to take control, Luther knows he must protect Jade his mate.
Oh trust me there is humour, drama and action. The banter between Luther and Belfry is brilliant.
There is spice to go with the action. A great read and I am looking forward to the next in the series.

Hillcrest Hollow, one of my favorite places. A small town filled with mysterious people who just want to be left alone, but that just never seems to happen. I have loved every one of these books and have been waiting for one about Luther, the resident vampire. Luther gets to meet Jade when she is hired to restore the library. The sparks fly between the two and Luther knows that after all these centuries he has finally met his mate. This series has captured my heart. All the characters, minotaur, griffin, wolf, dragon and their mates are witty, and there is wonderful banter and so much love. I have read all the Hillcrest Hollow books and each one brings another epic story and loving mates together. After I finish a book I cant wait until the next book comes out. The author writes with such heart and you just want the story to keep going and going. Read these books and enjoy.
3.5 stars. This story is dual POV, and, whilst slow starting, builds to action. Set in a magical small town, it is a fated mates, contemporary fantasy romance between Luther, the male vampire storekeeper lead, and Jade, the female librarian lead who has been invited to restore the small town’s library. I found the beginning of the story quite slow, though I did enjoy the banter between Jade and Luther, as well as other town members. I enjoyed the building relationship. I adored Luther’s bat familiar and his vital support in the non-romance plot. The romance stands alone but the non-romance plot is unfolding over the series and I was interested to see its progression, though I am curious how the author plans to resolve it. I enjoyed the cameos from characters in earlier stories in the series.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
Bound to the Vampire is book four of Hillcrest Hollow Shifters and I enjoyed the story of main characters Jade and Luther. Jade was in the Hollow hired to help in cataloging, and inventorying the library’s books, but on first sight the building looked like it could use some work too. Luther runs the general store that sits next door to the library and their first meeting is a contentious one which is soon followed by a mutual attraction that has Luther dangerously close to losing his restraint. Good writing, and nice characterizations blended together in crafting an entertaining story with some humor, emotion, surprises, a bat familiar, fated mates, danger, and immortal intrigue. A spicy good romance that ends on a well earned HEA.

So the last installment had our quiet and broody vampire Luther finally finding his mate. He caught my eye from book 3 because he was kinda mean to Gwen, so I had to get over that. However, he did make up for that, I guess.
Jade comes in and is exactly what he needs, but he's really not on good terms with first impressions. So, of course this is how things are gonna go for him with his mate. It's Luther, after all.
Why not a bat Belfry? With that personality? This is Hillcrest Hollow.
In the end, Luther and Jade prove they really are fated mates in the best of ways. He won me over.
Such a fun read with familiar town characters only adding to it. Its a bit lengthy, but keeps you smiling to the end.
And now, who's next? Because Maggie's coming to town!
Another nice one!

With Bound to the Vampire, we are getting ever closer to figuring out the entity that is causing so many problems around Hillcrest Hollow since the action kicked off in Bound to the Dragon. And this creature? It's sounding pretty tough to beat. 😬
Between Luther throwing his fortune at resources and Jade's librarian research skills, I have faith that Hillcrest Hollow will figure something out sooner than later.
Bound to the Vampire is probably my favorite book in the series so far. Grumpy vampire MMC and sunshine librarian FMC? Yes please! And Belfry is a delight. What's not to love about a snarky, snappy dressing bat familiar?
Thank you Vala Stone and Booksirens for the opportunity to advance read!
I finished this one and thought it was just okay, so I’m giving it 3 out of 5 stars. While I do like the overall story and the continuation of the Hillcrest Hollow series, this one really felt like it was missing something. Compared to the other books, it felt rushed and just didn't feel as complete as the stories we’ve had so far.
One of my biggest issues was Luther. Truthfully, he was kind of a total dick for most of it. Then, out of nowhere, he sweeps Jade up and starts kissing her, and she just immediately forgives him. I was so frustrated because that is not how anything works! She should have pushed him away and told him he was being a dick, but instead, they are just instantly in love.

This enjoyable cute story is about Jade a city girl librarian who moved to Hillcrest Hollow to organize and catalog the books in the library and Luther our vampire with his familiar Belfry a bat who runs and owns the General Store next door. Jade decides to walk around the run-down library to check its sturdiness where she meets grumpy Luther who tells her to leave the town. Then Major Hightower/Grandmother Liz shows up and tells them they be working together. What occurs next is an engaging story with lovable characters with banter and spice (Belfry was cute and delightful too) that captivated me in this copy I'd received and volunteer to read and review.
Really enjoyed the latest Hillcrest Hollow story. I really like this series, while each book is a standalone, there is a deeper plot embedded with each couple's story with more history of the town. It's not necessary to read the previous books as enough of the back plot is told through the current couple. Jade and Luther are a so cute. They're relationship is off to a rocky start but they discover that they have a love of history and books. And little Belfry...omg I want a telepathic bat familiar. Cute, cuddly and a little sassy 😘 Im really looking forward to discovering how the underlying storyline progresses. And if Thorne may find his soulmate????
This was such a cute read with lots of action. I love how this author keeps the mystery going with each and every couple. This couple was so cute with how well they fit together along with the antics of his pet bat. I loved how that bat keeps the MC on his toes, and is so good to the FMC. The chemistry was off the charts and the action was non-stop. You never knew what was going to happen next. I cannot wait to see where this author is going to take us with this story line. This is a must read!!!
Jade a librarian that restores books. She is sumNshine. Luther is a vampire and is grumpy. Belfry is Luther’s bat familiar.
Jade and Luther meet when she was scouting out the library she will be restoring. They did get off on the wrong foot but slowly the attraction and chemistry is there.
There is a danger in the small town of Hollow Hillcrest full of shifters and paranormal. Can they keep the danger out of the town? Can Jade and Luther h a Happily Ever After? Had a great time reading this book !!!
Jade is a librarian who has been black balled from working in Boston due to an entitled ex who couldn’t take its over withou retaliating. She comes to Hillcrest Hollow, accepting Theo ly job offer she could get. She immediately clashes with Luther, the vampire. Luther is overwhelmed by Jade and immediately smitten. But Hillcrest Hollow has an ancient enemy lurking about, and as Jade and Luther begin to bond the danger escalates. I loved it but I really liked Luther’s diminutive sidekick.
This series is awesome!!!!! I was a little worried about the level of snooty aloofness Luther seemed to be able to pull off going into this….. but ladies…. When he goes in???? He goes ALL IN!!!!! Besides the delightfully sweet romance this book also has a ton of action, suspense, surprises and super cute bat familiar with an awesome sense of fashion🥰
Dive in for supernatural hijinks, age old mysteries, and run for your life suspense (mixed in with sweet and sexy soulmates😍).
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Belfry is really cute and funny, and Luther was so sexy. There’s something about a man in formal clothes that just gets me. Men in suits are my catnip, especially if they are broody or grumpy (can’t wait for Thorne’s book, yay!). The story is very fast paced, and action packed, especially at the final half. The action scenes are good, and they kept me at the edge of my seat. The plot thickens, and the danger grows. I really love this series. Book 4 of Hillcrest Hollow Shifters story of Jade and Luther. OMG this one is full of surprises and twists that will have you laughing and falling in love with this wild town and all the inhabitants that call this town home. I loved how these two meet and the sassy back and forth these two do until they both admit they are crazy for each other. I really enjoyed the familiar bat he was a hoot.
