Nothing was going to stop me from having the wedding of my dreams—certainly not walking in on my now ex-fiance… when he was in somebody else.

This book is a great time. It’s a light hearted Omegaverse romcom with mild spice.
For me this book was closer to 4.5 ⭐️’s but I’m rounding up here.
This story spins a hilarious tale about a female beta who’s been obsessively planning her dream wedding for years. It’s taken over her whole personality. When her fiancé cheats on her she realizes she’s more upset about losing her wedding than her fiancé. So what does she do? The only logical thing…find a new groom…duh!
Her dating saga is hilarious. She’s so focused on finding someone, anyone, that she’s really scrapping the bottom of the barrel. Also, she’s determined to only date single beta men. You know because of the Omegaverse biology.
As a lover of the Omegaverse genre I totally understand the hesitancy of a beta not wanting to date an Alpha for fear of them finding their scent matched mate one day. Also, the physical incompatibility issue. Honestly those scent matches and all the knotting is one thing I really love about the Omegaverse. This story took it in a different direction, it was still enjoyable but I did dock half a star because I was missing it.
Then, as luck would have it, she finds someone she wasn’t even looking for. It’s very sweet, albeit rushed.
Overall, I would recommend it. It’s very light and very funny. But remember you are NOT getting knotty Omegaverse spice in this one.

This book is such a fun read! I love the whole poisonverse universe and I love the Miyo Hunter added some laughs to that world to offset the dark and sharp edges.
This is a quick non-typical omegaverse. There is no omega main character but lots of laughs with internet dating and crazy wedding shenanigans.

Avril has spent her life, and her life savings, planning the perfect wedding. Just because the original groom is no longer an option, doesn't mean the wedding is off. After all, how hard can it be to find a new groom on a deadline?

This is a fun little novella worth reading at least once. The author wrote Avril so well that the whole wedding looking for a groom thing almost makes total sense. It's cute. It's funny. A little off the chain.
The writing was good, it had a reasonably quick pace, and I didn't notice any editing errors.

IYKYK. What happens when the wedding is planned but the groom to be is a cheater? Find a new groom of course. At least that's what Avril tries to do so she can have her dream wedding she's been planning for over a year.
Poor Avril as she's trying to find a suiteable replacement, she can't catch a break with her terrible dates. The betas she's dating are horrible. The only person she's even remotely interested is off-limits, he's an alpha, and would never want to settle for her.
I love, love the back and forth between these two. David knows he needs to make a move or lose her but family history makes it hard. He understands her need to have her perfect wedding more than anyone, and he won't let this moment pass him by.

This book is a thoroughly entertaining read.
It has some really amusing moments and others that really made me giggle.
The whole premise is genius. Avril is planning her dream wedding, and finds out the groom is cheating on her, so instead of cancelling the Wedding, she searches for a new groom. The worst thing is, I bet there are brides out there who would do this!
The icing on the cake are Avril’s dates. They are absolutely hilarious. She could not have picked the worst bunch of smarmy, useless, disgusting, lot of Mama’s boys out there!
I simultaneously feel sorry for her, but can’t help wanting to read more.
This is such a fun read and I guarantee that I will be reading the rest of the books in this series.

I absolutely LOVE Miyo’s work. Every book of hers I’ve read I’ve loved. They’re not too heavy, they’re fun and fluffy with a bit of grit in some of them. They’re perfect for novellas and for when you need a break from all the dark romance you’re reading lol. But the High Fructose Corn Syrup verse books may be my favorites cause they are HILARIOUS! The stories are good but I really love how the MCs are never what you’re expecting. They’re also very real and feel like someone you know. Knot your bridezilla was ridiculously hilariously, not only for the premise but the MCs inner monologues as well, they were some of my favorite parts!

I was a little unsure at first, but I ended up really loving this. Avril definitely cares more about the wedding than the groom. Which is how she ends up needing a groom to slot in place after her original one becomes an ex.
I don't at all connect with her wedding is the most important thing in my life mentality. And she can be a bit shallow and ridiculous (about the wedding, not people in general). But I like how she is happy with herself and unapologetically Avril.
The dates are pretty entertaining and I like David a lot. It was a fast read and definitely worth it afterall.

This is the second book in the High Fructose Corn Syrup Verse. This is also my first time reading a book by Miyo Hunter. This book just tickled my funny bone and now I need to read the first book in this duet.
This FMC is so fre@king bad@$$! I love how she just creates a new plan after her life takes a sharp left turn. She is so focused and single-minded in her task! The MMC is hot, sweet and leery of her goal.

Well Avril will not let something as small as no fiancé stop her from having the wedding of her dreams and this is her story. Although it is a short read it is super entertaining. Turning to a dating app she starts to go on truly terrible dates while the owner/bartender bears witness. I loved this story it was so sweet and funny and the characters stayed true to themselves while falling in love.

ARC review: This was a super cute, short fluffy romance. Avril has absolutely the worst luck in men, like more than one poor girl should. She’s headstrong on getting what she wants and what she wants is to get married. David is this sweet, almost goofy kinda guy who is shy to talk to Avril at first and when he finds out she’s looking for a groom he kinda gets cold feet but he steps up to the task and shows Avril what she should have been getting from a relationship the entire time.

This was a very light hearted and sweet story but I don’t think this writing style is for me. There was a lot of internal monologue which is personally not my favorite. There was also a lot more telling of what happened rather than experiencing the dialogue and being in the moment. Like I would have happily read about David and Avril camping just so I could see some of the growth in their relationship. I just feel like we didn’t get enough of Avril and David actually being a couple.

Ok, I loved the last High Fructose Corn Syrup book and wasn’t sure if this one would live up to my hype.
This is not a RH novel, but it hits all the right notes and is sweet, funny, sexy and the perfect length for a quick read.
I loved Avril and the way she grew within the story. David was hunky and fit right in with Avril’s vibe.
Honestly, this was one of the most fun books I’ve read all year, I can’t recommend it highly enough.

The plot was original and captivating. The spice was perfect. It was filled with humor.
I loved both Avril and David.

August 4, 2026For being a short book it read super slow and the fmc was really superficial and unlikebale to me. Also, I just couldn’t buy into the whole netting someone and marrying them in 4 months part. I thought the guy she would marry in that short of a time frame would be someone she already knew and had some sort of history with not a total stranger.

This story was super cute with a sprinkling of spicy. Avril really has the worst luck with men, no one should be subjected to the horrors she goes through. But maybe David could be the answer to all her problems.

The books in this series are absolutely ridiculous, which makes them a ton of fun. Over the top, unnecessary in every way, and funny. I love a book that doesn't take itself seriously.
