okay so this is a super hyped up story and I did enjoy the first volume which is why I gave it 4 stars, even though if I was being harsh I would give it 3. But 4 stars for keeping me reading, entertained and still intrigued. I actually like the characters, even the annoying/bad ones. The FL is the best and the ML is really annoying but I also like him?? Idk this story has me conflicted, lmfao. The title is funny because I feel like this is just another reincarnation story but it is better? the worst thing about this book so far is how dumb everyone is the castle seems and they just blame everything on Edith. It’s kind of repetitive. Something bad happens > Edith is blamed > charges dropped. But I still like the angst between Edith and Killian. I’ll keep reading for now. Considering this volume chapters 1-38, based on 116 chapters and only 3 volumes on GR.

My first reread after a year, I did not know I would miss it so much! I truly forgot how wonderful this is.
Let's get into it, the beginning of this was definitely good I feel like the pace was very good. The romance is so good and slow but not too slow that you find yourself losing interest. The writing of this book is wonderful, and the conversations flow naturally you travel so deep into that novel that you feel like you are there with them. The misunderstanding trope here is the only misunderstanding trope that I like because it was done right, it is not like "why don't they just talk to each other?" it's more of a misunderstanding because of their beliefs and reputations which it makes much deeper and more realistic.
"You really know how to hurt a lady."
The first character I would like to talk about is obviously Suna AKA Edith. I think she is absolutely the smartest character in the novel, whenever she is put in impossible situations you can always bet that she will stay collected and think about a solution without hurting or accusing anyone of wrong doing. The first thing she wanted to do when she woke up in this world was to befriend people and get them to trust her, not because she is cunning and wants people to be on her side, but because she was so deprived of love and friendships that the first thing she wanted was that feeling. Her showing kindness to Rhyse despite knowing that she was more loved and popular she never once felt jealous or envious. She managed to make characters so insignificant to the story that they were not even mentioned, seem so important that if we did not know we would think they are one of the main characters. She is truly a lovely character.
"How can you tell him to take your life?"
Killian is one of these characters that I could honestly talk about all day. The character development is truly so satisfying to witness as you are reading. Killian is very strong willed, he often goes out of his way to prove that he is right. He always tries to read between the lines whenever Edith says or does anything. However, when he was put in a position where he had to be unbiased he absolutely was. It just shows you how amazing his character was written out to be, how rounded he is. As much as he despises her he always tries to be fair.
Their romance is so well written, you see how much he wants to let her in but he is afraid to do so. Anyway I shall write a more in-depth character analysis later in volume 5 to avoid any spoilers (chapters 1 - 38)

I actually really liked the beginning of this. Edith knowing she's supposed to be the villainess and trying EVERYTHING to avoid her original fate should've been another generic reincarnation plot, but the story immediately starts throwing problems at her that she can't just solve with future knowledge. And Killian? Sir, I understand that you have your reasons, but you are making it VERY difficult for me to like you. 😭 Edith was genuinely trying her best while everyone was determined to treat her like the villain she was supposed to be. I was hooked.
