A short story of betrayal, revenge, and sapphic curiosity. Mia Montgomery is the perfect woman.
Beautiful, wealthy, smart, and kind. The type of smile that makes you smile back. Future veterinarian, with a big ol' heart for animals. Fiancé of Harrison Compton Jr., whos family is worth millions. Blah, blah, blah.
Who am I?
Well, I'm the other woman.
No, I didn't know. No, I'm not particularly upset. However, I do like to put a man in his place and if there ever was a man who needed it, it's Harrison.
I make it my mission to hunt her down, learn all there is to know about their relationship, and ruin his life. What I wasn't expecting is wanting Mia for myself... can I go through with my plan or will I teach us all how love, lust, and revenge can disintegrate just as quickly as cotton candy?
Great short read! It moves at a great pace for a novella. I wouldn't call it romance, just a bit of a plot with some smut. That being said it was a very fun story. Please note there is a cheating theme throughout. Love that I am able to support a local author! Looking forward to more from her.
The spice was spicing 🤌🏻 I loved this sapphic revenge story and could read a lot more of K and Mia. It ended in a non conventional way, not exactly a happily ever after in the way I expected, which I loved. It portrays realistic sapphic tension too.
I accidentally came across this short novella and actually while the cover art had me doubtful, I LOVED this story! It was 93 pages, but I could have read a whole novel length about the main character and the "revenge" they deal with. She is a character I relate so hard for from her childhood to her behavior as an adult. What she became. A determined, fierce, don't mess with me woman. The situation she found herself in was so real, a man hooking up but turns out he's cheating... how he is just exactly like so many guys, I think the author did amazing with everything. I found the spice was perfect and both physical and emotional tension through the whole story was palatable. Sure the end was kinda loose for interpretation and the optional epilogue, bittersweet, but even as a happy ending reader I enjoyed this so much because it was so real.
I could have read a 300-400 page book involving Mia and K!
I love a good revenge plot, and this did not disappoint. I loved the chemistry between the two FMCs and how even though it is a novella it didn't seem incredibly rushed. Barnes has a few timeline jumps (a few days, a few weeks, etc) which - I feel - gives it a little more realism if that makes sense. Everything doesnt happen in a day lol
The spice was great, but I really loved the banter and the quick wit of K. I was giggling a lot. And the bonus epilogue?! Amazing. Exactly what was needed for the plot imo
Dr Barnes had a book signing at a local bookstore in my town but I wasn’t able to make it. So today I ran in to grab this book. I finished it in about 40 mins. I couldn’t put it down. This book is such a quick read and has just the right amount of plot and spice!! Can’t wait to grab another book and read more from DR Barnes.
3 stars. That epilogue ruined it for me. I hated it so much but this novella is another one that I would recommend if you’re not used to sapphic romances. Wasn’t the best thing I ever read personally. The writing was good, the plot was intriguing but I cared nothing for Mia and Katya as characters. A quick read but nothing outstanding.
Hooked me from the first page, and devoured this in a few hours. K.T’s narration was perfection, and the backstory’s of both characters were relatable.
I don’t want to spoil anything, but the ending and epilogue was a nice change compared to most and still leaves the reader satisfied.
Revenge done so well. Omg this was so good. The writing was hypnotic. I just loved how unapologetic the main character was. Absolutely had the cool, uncaring vibes. It was a quick, mildly spicy read, and I couldn’t get enough.
Couldn't put it down. The story was so entrapping and kept you wanting more. Extremely recommend this author and I am one hundred percent looking forward to reading more of her work!!
At first I loved this book. It’s short, sweet and spicy! However, the epilogue was AWFUL! If you plan on reading this book, stop at the end and save yourself.
