3.9 (possible spoilers) I consider this book a lesson in what happens to a playboy manwhore who messes with the wrong woman.
H is the manwhore playboy. He’s King Alpha. He likes women and he has no issue ending it with them when they catch feelings. He has been dating OW and she caught feelings, and well….she is a witch. 😂 She cursed him, but he doesn’t exactly know/remember how (which is part of the curse) *snaps fingers and yells out YES*
All he knows for sure is since the curse, his manhood will not work anymore 😂😂
h is in a severely abusive situation with her dad (who is an alpha) and his girlfriend. She can’t “get” her wolf or connect to it. The whole pack is awful.
H decided to tour the packs to find his fated mate. Naturally, h’s dad beats her then locks her up in the dungeon. H still smells her and rescues her. They are fated mates. He takes her back to his palace.
h is verrrrrry timid. H and h have their ceremony and they mark each other. He feels a strong connection when he’s with h, but when they are apart, he doesn’t. This OW (not the witch) starts getting in his head.
“Your mate is not good enough or strong enough to be your queen” ( this ow is a woman he’s been with before)
h overhears some of it. H and h continue to shag, but she knows he is growing distant from her. (I guess love makes his manhood work now 🤷♀️)
The mate bond acts really weird for H. He doesn’t understand why. Ummm
h finds out she’s pregnant, but she doesn’t tell him yet. She knows something is off with their mate bond.
The day he calls her into the throne room is just very sad. She knew what he was going to do. Yep! H does it. 🤬 He rejects her. It’s awful. The emotion I felt during this made me hate this guy so much. She rejects him back and leaves. She tried so hard to be strong
As soon as she leaves, he immediately knows he’s made a huge mistake. 😂😂🙃 He thinks he has time to fix it.
Expect she leaves the pack. She very sick, but she finally makes it the rogues area and meets a nice couple. She’s there for her whole pregnancy. H spends this whole time going crazy and looking for her. The only good thing H did was go back to her pack and kill her dad. He finally decided to send OW away to another pack.
He arrives the day she gives birth. They spend a lot of chapters “talking” because H is dense asf
The witch comes to talk to h about the curse and explains H’s going to lose his son.
So basically the curse was he has to discover what real actual love is. He has to put that above all else. When the baby gets sick, he realizes it. Curse lifted.
They get married again and mark each other again.
The witch does come to see them after the wedding. She’s glad he learned his lesson 🙃🙃🤪

When the Lucas King, Maximus visits this pack due to rumors of the Omegas being abused her finds the Alpha's daughter in the dungeon beaten and starved because she tripped and spilled mop water on the floor, she also turns out to be the King's fated mate. Due to arrogance and a curse he rejects her. She runs away afraid of the abuse like her father dished out, she's also pregnant. He finds her in a rogue community just after giving birth to his son. They work through their problems, the curse is broken and they are welcomed by the pack and the kingdom. Love conquers all.

fantastic love story with epic feels
I loved this book. The alternating point of view was well written and I felt like I completely understood Max and Kylie. I worried the rogue territory might be super violent but the author but a great twist on things and I loved Kylie’s time in the rogue territory. The characters were flawed and bruised but it only made me love them more. I read this book in less than a day. I had to see what happened next. All the way to the awesome ending!

I thoroughly enjoyed this read!
It kept me glued to it an entire day. The trials. The tests of faith and trust. The real hurt in realizing mistakes were made to please the opinions of others…then the hard work of earning the trust back and proving your own worthiness. I’ll probably read it again too!! :) saving this one for my library for sure!!

Good read
This is the first time reading the genre, and it was pretty satisfying. I was looking for a new type of book and this one delivered. Good love story with the appropriate amount of drama, but no cheating!!
