Robert Williams saved Ironheart Keep with a spell that shook the world. Now, the consequences of that power are coming for him. The Narifirn Empire wants revenge, and they're sending assassins not for the Queen, but for the Oakhaven enchanter who annihilated their army.
To defend his friends and the life he's built, Robert must embark on a furious grind for power. He’ll take on legendary dungeons alone, unlock a new profession, and build an army of golem defenders. Because when ancient dragons and furious emperors have you in their sights, being overpowered is the only way to survive.

Consequences is the third book in this system arrives series, and I have to say, as far as consistency/continuity goes: it was absolutely terrible. As far as the story goes, it was just fine, but there were some serious continuity errors, and something that a dedicated proofreader should have caught. I get that patrion members read this first, but they're hardly going to point out errors to the person who controls whether or not they can read the next book or not ahead of time. That's not my kind of thing, I'd much rather wait until the book is finished before reading it, but some folks really like the watching it as it develops thing. I tried that in the past, and it isn't for me. Regardless, once the whole thing is done, someone really should be selected as a proofreader, to go through the book and find continuity errors. There were a literal ton of them in this book, and it really cut down on the enjoyment of the story as a result. I know a lot of folks aren't bothered by such things, and I say more power to you if that's you, but I can't enjoy a story if every few pages I'm having to go back and look at a previous chapter to see that, yes, this really was a different name/level/effect before, and now it isn't. It got bad enough that by the end of the book, I was just ignoring stats/skills/effects, because I didn't want it to interrupt the reading of the story. And, let me tell you, that's a major crime for me, because stats/skills/levels are the main reason I read these kinds of books, and not being able to enjoy the advancement of them takes a lot of the joy out of reading these stories. I'm strongly considering not continuing this series now, but it's more likely I'll just wait longer before reading the next one. I'll have to work up to reading it when it comes out, because despite how good the story is, I like the stats/skills/levels, and when they get hosed due to lack of attention, it takes away most of the enjoyment of this kind of story for me. With that said though, I realize 97.237 percent of folks reading this book aren't going to care about such things, and that's great, go read the story, enjoy it, and plan to read the next one, don't let my being an old curmudgeon prevent you from enjoying your reading.
Again this series is: flat 2 dimensional characters, clumsy writing, Marysville power-ups, power-ups for just being in the room and taking no actions whatsoever, and OMG you're so amazing!!!
You can tell where the free ai stops writing and he need to make a new session because it mixes up names of dungeons their levels and what monsters are in them.
You can easily see where the author make prompts for the Ai with a couple lines up to a paragraph. The text boxes change format throughout, and the author forgets the main character has an ai companion for 90% of the book. And when it does talk, several times in buried in a paragraph block that might be the MCs own thoughts? Like they are having a conversation.. but since there is on breaks, no italisised text or meaningfull transition between them. I do like the blue text for Hal, when it gets used. I'm going to recomend this series as the lowest level of litrpg out there. Cause I would like the author to be able to pay an editor, get some beta readers and turn these first 2 books into like 6. But Ill wait for those I have recommended it to to get back to me on if it gets improved.
I love the story. The MC is probably the most likable protagonist in this genre. I am a fan of Robert’s progression as well - even though he is soloing way over his level, his gains aren’t exaggerated. Can’t wait to see where the story goes from here.
Errors Orin and Lyria are written as the Millers when looking at their daughters. Anya is wearing the Whispering Eclipse armor. Stat confusion - Level 158 then gains 3 levels then the Level 150 stat page then Level 154? Extra “exact” as its own paragraph during the scene with theft of Oakhaven gate. Caldera dungeon goes from Level 185 during the explanation of Northwind’s dungeons to Level 140 later.
Refreshing break from books that focus on a single aspect of an ‘integration’ and have an op character deal with crafting, fighting, politics and self reflection in equal parts. Some lol moments and some it’s difficult to turn the page with that frog lodged in the throat already. Great job and hope you continue to enjoy writing these as much as I have reading them
4 stars is a compromise. Based on Plot development and Original content it would be 5 stars. Unfortunately a prose style that makes me thing its an AI: To little character development, descriptions that are wordy and repetitive, character sheets that are thankfully skippable for those that don't have the mindset to internally deal with 6 and 7 digit numbers would rate only 2 or 3 stars. Thus the 4 star compromise.
I really enjoyed this next book. I’m pretty sure it is too late to give the author, any suggestions, but I did like the side stories of his wife and kids. Maybe for a book 5 we could get more on their accomplishments and life. Little side stories of their perspectives. baby show something about how they can make some type of life, extending drugs that will help them live longer and see their father in the future.
Absolutely loved this book. I got the first in the series and was very impressed , zipped through book 2 and now finished book 3 . Loved the.premise of the series , the characters are on point - great variety of differing points of view the system / progression is very interesting ..overall highly recommend
The pacing is something I really like about this book. It doesn’t linger. It doesn’t give every little detail but takes you on a ride hitting the important arcs of his journey. It does provide smaller meaningful moments where he can be a teacher, mentor and a dad to his students. Waiting for the next book will be hard.
This is a great series and has an amazing character development through out. Small note, sometimes the is repeat paragraphs within this one. Still a 5 star due to the incredible story and writing.
The story progression is perfect. The right amount of side quests and flashbacks but keeping with the main plot had me finish this in 4 hrs late I can’t wait for the next book
Read entire series on Kindle. Well written but not well edited. Found terrible continuity in several books. For instance the size of the dragon changed along with his progress. Irritating. All being said, good story and waiting for the continuation.
Bro great story flows. I...hope to read more...but you gotta have a better proof reader...to many miss spelled words ruined the flow of story...but still great writing.. Please follow through this story line... Thanks for a great ride.. Ernie croft
Terry Carter is a genius. His story telling is out of this world and make this and the previous 2 books impossible to put down. If you already read and enjoyed books 1 & 2 then this 3rd book is a must read.
Love the twist on the system/median genre well written and paced excitedly waiting for next one , action drama family covers a wide arrange instead of a typical over powered protagonist
These books have continued to grow in scope and meaning. I truly enjoy them and I think that you will too. It is truly a heartbreaking story which brings so much depth to the protagonist and his plight. Highly recommended
It was a fun read and the characters were well developed and wanted to get to know the all better. It was great how there was not a lot of system screens to muck up the story but enough to move the story plot. Looking forward for the next book.
Selected Computer Engineer is ripped from earth and becomes a force of nature....he loses his family, but selects survivors to complete his new family. A five star storey about the System, family and his pet dragon...
Beware. You will struggle badly to put this down. I could not. Am DESPERATELY sorry I have come to the end of book 3. Terry....pls hurry up, cannot wait for volume 4. Albert.
Moving along steadily. Finished inside a day. Error level suggests beta readers need stimulating into doing the job, not just reading the book. Have offered more than once. Next, please….
Nitkax was gra nted 5 levels for a trait and when they went into dungeon a few pages later and Robert was 154 when you did a stat sheet saying he was 150
