I’ve always found folklore and cryptid stories fascinating. So I picked up this book not fully prepared to be so creeped out by it. I love the logic and detailed approach to the subject. This was very very well done and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope Missy covers more of this it’s rare you find such logical approaches to subjects like this. Highly recommend to anyone who finds folklore, mysteries and creatures interesting.

It doesn’t matter whether you believe in otherworldly creatures or not. If you don’t, this is a very entertaining piece of fiction. If you do, this is one of the scariest books you’ll ever read. I’m not sure if I’m quite convinced of everything mentioned in this book being true, but I do know how it made me feel. It gave me the chills often and made me not want to read it too close to nighttime. I will definitely be interested to read any other books Sterling published on this or any adjacent subject.
