I’m definitely the target audience for this, and found much of it very helpful. It was encouraging, and broke down concepts like growth mindsets and techniques for getting both myself and my children into a calmer state into easy, actionable steps.

The main issue I had with this was the frequent references to the “bonus bits” in the back, as the link to the worksheets and one-page summaries does not seem to work, even though I did purchase this book. (I’ve tried multiple times, and the email never shows up in my inbox nor my spam.) Nor can I find any sort of contact form on her website that isn’t directly related to her coaching services, for which the last “your one important to-do” section was a bit sales-pitchy. It would have been better as an afterword, IMO. If I had either the promised access to her worksheets, or the time this close to the school year to put all of that together on my own, it would help a great deal with my ability to apply this long term.

Rescue me

Wow, this is so true! Living in fear of judgement, light switch emotions--it's like I wrote this myself. Amanda did a fantastic job of taking something personal and yanking away the stigma that goes with it. The plan includes help for yellow and red light brains--which is exactly the time I need help. Thank you so much for writing this! I want my kids to enjoy their school, and it's hard when you feel like you're always on.
