SLIGHT MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD

Despite the enticing title and above-the title promise "A Woman Caught in a Deadly Game - The CIA and the KGB couldn't Stop Her," not much happened in this book. The writing's not great but the promise of excitement to come kept me turning pages.

The locations were compelling. The background of husband #2 Carlos' early life in Portuguese-colonized Africa led me to think that it would be important to the story.

SPOILER AHEAD:

It was not.

The book included a lot of self indulgent photos that did nothing to enhance the story but instead spoiled it with photos of second husband before we even read about the ending of the first marriage.

I was disappointed in most of the story. I think in the hands of a writer, this could have been well done. But many opportunities for building tension were lost.

Remember reading this with a salt shaker in my hand as I took the story with a few grains of salt.
