He’s the wild one. The dangerous one. The one she should’ve stayed away from...far away.
Riot King doesn't follow rules. He breaks them, rewrites them, and dares anybody to say something about it. After Creed shook up the King empire, Riot's been keeping his distance, stacking money, moving exotic animals, and staying outta feelings.
Until she showed up.
Allure is a walking secret. Soft voice, guarded eyes, and a past too twisted to talk about. She’s on the run, hiding scars nobody can see. Riot wasn’t part of her escape plan, but now that she’s seen him, touched him, tasted him...there’s no going back.
He’s chaos in a bespoke suit. She’s been through hell and learned how to survive. Together, they’re a slow burn that’s about to explode.
Enemies are circling. Loyalty’s being tested. And love? That might just be the deadliest trap of all.
If you love gritty Black romance, hood love with heart, and alpha antiheroes who fall hard for the one woman they can’t control, Riot will leave you breathless.

This Urban Dark Romance continues the story from Book 1. Some betrayal, twists and turns has the King family going through it. I loved Book 1 hard. Book 2 just didn't quite make it for me. I wanted the deep, dark MMC in a Dark Romance to keep his edge.
Here we have Riot wanting to change and go legit, ok sure, but also having him question himself and his dark nature. It wasn't presented as a boon or good thing but something that comes with a little bit of shame or something that needed to change. I liked Riot in Book 1. His personality was different. His love for animals but his decisive yet impulsive nature was appealing. Here in his own book though a lot of those edges were rounded and tamed. It felt like a loss.
Allure was a good FMC. She had goals and ambition. She was a good fit for Riot but again this idea about making sure he changed was just eh. I was intrigued by her introduction. There was a lot going on with her background but I was all in. And even though I'm not huge on murdery FMCs, I wanted to see her revenge get justice. I wanted to see her evolution. However, somewhere around 25-30% her edge was re-shaped quite a bit. It was a little startling.
A lot of the family betrayals were pretty obvious from jump but it all sets up Book 3. It had me wanting to re-read Book 1 because lots of characters pulled a 180. Characters I was invested in in Book 1 who completely flipped the script to that odd devastating ending. It felt like mid-book the author grew tired of the complexities. Certain betrayals or twists would happen with zero follow-up. Reactions to majority of twists were always instantaneous and none of it was allowed to breathe on page or to see the emotional weight of the betrayals. I am still interested to see what happens next, but it's no longer a one-click automatic buy read.
There was a lot happening in this story. Betrayal. Family secrets. Fighting for freedom & new life. Revenge and a cautionary tale of what happens when you let bitterness fester. While the plot points were decent and engaging enough to make you want to see it to the end, there were lots of lazy typos & sloppy editing that became distracting after a while. Additionally, the pacing also felt off at times, like the story dragged but moving fast at the same time. I also have a one sided beef with stories featuring captives/toxic relationships and then getting immediately involved with their “savior”. I always want the FMC to have some time to be on her own before a new situation. However, despite going from one situation directly to another, Allure (FMC) did find her voice, & some semblance of a backbone to confront her past.
I couldn't wait for this book because Creed's book was such an unexpected surprise, and I had high expectations for Riot. This book was so good! You really have to hold on to the edge of your seat, hunny. There is so much going on in Allure's past and Riot's present, but they manage to really see each other in that time, and the love is able to bloom. This book is about betrayal, secrets, love, lust, and redemption.
I read this book in one sitting. It was soooo many secrets, lies and treachery. Riot is definitely the definition of BDE. Silas and Lionel were both piss poor fathers. MiMi got what she deserved as well. I’m glad Allure got the truth. Her family ain’t shyt. Great read. There were a few mistakes but it didn’t take away from the story.
I liked the story line but there were too many typos and inconsistencies, mainly towards the end. Characters names kept changing back and forth, some character names were switched to other characters. It seemed rushed and definitely wasn't proof read. I also find it odd that Riot never made an attempt to look into who Allure's dad was. I also found that Riot was still pretty immature and ruled by anger for literally 90% of the book. There wasn't enough accountability on his part imo for his behavior, not towards Havoc or Allure when they had the falling out. Havoc was also immature and gullible but he was right about how they treated him and they barely acknowledged it, even how their own mother treated him. Idk , it was good but it needed some fine tuning in my opinion.
This book was odd! There definitely should have been trigger warnings, and the last half was so poorly edited it was hard to follow. I’m done with this series, I won’t be reading Cannon. The plot twists were more for shock value than to add to the story. There’s just way too much unresolved trauma from everyone. From the minute Riot claimed to “smell cancer” I knew this storyline was going to be weak and full of nonsense. Also, no one gives “Boss” vibes but we’re supposed to believe they are some kind of big players. Allure calls the police and Boaz’s whole operation fails and he’s in jail for like a week?! None of that is plausible.
This author’s writing style is not for me. None of the characters were likable, relatable or entertaining enough to invest in their stories. Riot was a spoiled brat throughout, Sloane made a cameo just to show the author has no concept of an actual therapist and conflict of interest, Creed comes off like a crybaby with no tears - I’m still waiting on him to actually lead something. The whole Abra thing at the end was like of course, another one.
Riot did not come to play with y'all! We learned that in Creed's story when he started rippin' things apart. Dat trifling paw was just the beginning of their problems.
I never expected him to soften anymore than we'd already seen, but talk about smellin' his flower straight from the garden! Babbbbby, Allure was literally sniffed out. His bionic nose was able to determine so much without confirmation.
His heart, although cold and hard, was chiseled through. This book had more twists and turns than MapQuest! 😝😂🤣 Every time I thought I figured it out, we got hit with more betrayal. Im tellin ya, it be ya own people.
This was a great read. It will keep you on your toes. I'm looking forward to Cannon's book. 💚💛💜🫶🏽
Whew 😮💨😮💨! That was a lot of betrayal, lies and deceit but Riot never let up on Allure and I am glad that they were able to find love and happiness in the end ! It’s crazy how one man’s actions can rollercoaster into decades of pain, blood and loss !!
And Allure people ain’t shit because how you sell your daughter and let her be gone for 10 years without a care in the world !!!
&& Havoc pissed me off because use your fucking words you are grown !!! You let that Bih get into your head now you in the dirt and the brother you hated so bad raising your kid as his own!!! Smh 🤦🏽♀️
This series got me on a ride …. Let’s see what the new brother (Cannon) has to offer!!!
I loved this so much, the way Riot didn’t play when it came to Allure 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
The man was obsessed from the first moment he saw Allure. I loved the sides they brought out in each other. Allure brought out his soft and vulnerable side. Riot brought out her fierce aka Queen side. They really just balanced each other out.
The plot had me hooked, couldn’t put it down. I just knew Allure family had something to do with her disappearance and was not shocked when I was proven right.
I loved the fact that Allure got her freedom and got her happily ever after being trapped for ten years.
Will be continuing the series!

I’m not gonna lie the main characters are ass. Creed, Sloane, Allure, and Riot they’re all ass. The only character that I was invested in was Havoc. And I wish his story ended better. Tessa deserved that death. And I wish his brothers would’ve understood why he killed her because it’s obvious that she knew her husband was touching on his son. To respond “because you’re a b*th” when confessing that their father was raping him sounds like someone who knew but thought it was only him so didn’t give a f*ck. If Riot and Creed really cared about victims they would’ve done better by their own blood. But it all felt performative by the way they treated Havoc. They only ever asked each other if their dad did something to them but never opened the door to acknowledge that maybe their dad did something to their brother. And it really wasn’t revenge that Havoc wanted he just wanted to be acknowledged but the people that claimed they were his family yet DIDNT TREAT HIM LIKE IT. And I’m pissed Riot gets to raise his fucking son when in reality he couldn’t even view Havoc as a brother and he doesn’t have the emotional intelligence to care for Jasir the same way he’s gonna care for Allure’s and His child. Which makes me sad the cycle is likely gonna continue. Literally justice for Havoc because half way through I was rooting for him because I wanted the victim to come out on top. And he was the ultimate victim.
Riot was all about the business. He was on it. Wild and outrageous. Loved him. Him and Allure made it through it and came out stronger.
Havoc got on my last nerve him and his girlfriend she was the key to his demise. He couldn’t think for himself. He could have been alright if he had spoken to his brothers and shared his trauma.
Jasir will be well taken care of and now Cannon !!!!
IM SORRY but even though this was a decent story it’s hard to ignore the inconsistencies and grammatical errors. I mean they were so glaring and on just about every PAGE. It’s did the author even proofread her material before publishing it. I had deduct a star simply just based on the misspelled words, using the wrong word or just missing words altogether. Can we get an editor? Maybe a friend to proofread it for you? Something? Books are not cheap and considering the author is selling this she needs to do better. It took away from the story completely!
This was a really interesting continuation of the King Family Saga that was slightly let down by the editing which could have helped with some of the homophone errors but also perhaps with sharpening things a little bit so the plot moved along a bit more smoothly. Despite these teething issues, I enjoyed this author’s storytelling and the continuation of the King’s story- perhaps even more than I did Creed’s book.
Riot and Allure finding each other at their most broken was dealt with really well and with Allure being a survivor of trafficking and abuse, the rapid trajectory of their relationship could potentially have felt rushed and out of place, but it never did and you were always rooting for them to find healing. It didn’t feel rushed, but I did still wish a little more dialogue time had been spent on that healing journey and we had a chance to see them flourish before the epilogue.
It was good to have just the right amount of Creed and Sloane and to meet other family members. I didn’t quite see the twist at the end coming as I suspected someone else. But I’m actually excited for Cannon’s book after this and seeing where he fits into their family saga.
It took a while to finish maybe because there was a lot going on and the way it was written. I liked Creed’s story better but I had to stop comparing. It got better though and the plot twists were crazyyyyyy. Riot was reckless but not like Havoc.
The storyline is amazing and I would love to give the book a five star rating. However, there are way too many typos and incorrect grammar in this book for me to write it as a five star book.
This book was great and then it seemed like they changed Riots entire character development arc. It felt like two different people were editing and writing the book. There were also a lot of mistakes in the book.
The lack of editing within this version makes it hard for someone like me to objectively look at the story. That coupled with things that should have made the FMC question the motives of her family way before she did ... especially since she was so sharp in the compound.

This book was like a movie! 👁️👁️🍿🍷! The lies, betrayal, secrets and boy..it was sme secrets! Nw i dnt like the route havoc took wit his trauma, i realli think had creed and riot knw, they would of moved differentli. So sad, but he did too much for redemption wit his brothers. Riot had alot to unravel too, im glad allure came into his life and piece by piece soften the giant. Aww.. i love they journey to love! Wit all the betrayal and i mean betrayal! They own blood! And the surprise came wit Abra, but....i kind of knew smethin was up wit her tho, ja didn't think it was wht ahe was doin. 🤦🏾♀️They definiteli got rid of the 🐍s in they lives to rebuild a new wit real solid people blood or not. Have they famili was 🐍s on allure and riot side. I got riot plite when he was wntin to kill havoc's son because the chance of him growin up to seek revenge for his parents, but at the same time i think he will b ok, sloane a therapist and they will raise on love not hatred. Some people go thru trauma, but hve a different reaction to it and in this book it shws tht! Nw! Cannon! Another King Brother! See! secrets lol, im bout to c whts thts about, he definiteli didn't wnt nothin to do wit his brothers or the money, but... I got a feelin he will cme around for the good and not b like havoc, its not they fault how they parents moved and they jus wnt famili to b ja tht! Famili! U did tht!
So much trauma, so much so-one spicy scene still ain’t sitting right in my spirit, esp given the FMC’s past. I don’t feel good about it, nor do I feel like it was ever addressed…almost glossed over & ion like dat, even if this is considered a “dark romance.”
I remember Riot being so unhinged and dark in Creed’s book & now he’s trying to heed his brother’s direction of maturing but the darkness keeps finding him. I appreciate Riot’s attempts to mature and evolve and Allure played a significant role in that. Given her history I felt she needed some time to learn who she really wanted to be as a woman before jumping in a relationship…esp with the man that “saved” her. Going from one violent man to another (even if for protection) is a lot!
Allure was a strong FMC who was dealt a shitty hand by shitty family. Her evolution and softness to Riot’s hardness was depicted well. Again, I wish she would have stayed away longer and held him accountable a lil stronger tho.
The storyline was laced with so much betrayal & secrets but it kept me intrigued and turning the page so the author accomplished the goal with a page turning novel. It was just laced with so much death, I wish death wasn’t the only way to redeem or “fix” things in the story tho.
Lastly, I wiah she had a stronger editor, there were so many grammatical and punctuation errors that were distracting.

This book wrecked me. Goodness…from beginning to end. I loved Creed and Sloane’s book, but RIOT IS MY MAIN MAN!!! His soul is so tortured and he just could never quite get a grasp on how to contain his darkness.
While in normal life, we’d expect Allure to get loads of therapy before tackling a relationship…
Riot saved her but she saved him back. The things she endured, at the hands of those she loved is so crazy. The betrayal so deep, but Riot soothed that for her and she held him together when he fell apart.
Havoc pissed me off to no end but my goodness…he never stood a chance. If communication was healthy between the three brothers imagine the healing that could’ve occurred. Silas breed evil into everyone around him and while Havoc deserved every thing he got, it really didn’t have to be that way.
Mimi that grimy B! I’m so happy for how things happened with her.
I do wish that there was more on Rollo in the end. At least an extra scene but I won’t trip too much. This book was too good.
*Note: Some minor grammatical errors that became more consistent at the end. Seems like the author was trying to rush on out but nothing to gripe about.
Amazing! Psychological, dramatic, violent, spicy and tender in the right parts. 😜
Riot Rising: A Stronger Second Installment in the King Family Saga
I just finished Riot, the second book in the King Family Saga by N’Dia Rae, and I can honestly say it’s better than the first installment. It feels like Rae had a different editor this time, or the editor took more time with this book. The plot was drawn out in a good way, keeping me engaged about the outcome. The imagery flowed and sparked my imagination, allowing me to visualize scenes vividly. I even caught glimpses of the sexy Canon toward the end, and I could feel the anger and trauma in Havoc’s eyes, as well as Mimi’s. The storyline carries a heavy weight of pain, to the point where some scenes were almost hard to breathe through.
I’m glad I stuck with the series and I’ll definitely read Cannon’s story next to see how the King Family Saga concludes. But before I dive back in, I plan to pause the series, switch genres for a bit, and revisit in a few weeks. To my fellow readers: keep exploring new authors and genres, let your imagination run wild, and keep an open mind about where a series can take you. Riot takes you on a journey—here’s hoping the momentum continues. Rating: 2.0 stars
Riot has the world on his shoulders trying to make sure everyone was all right. He should have went to therapy, because Silas disgusting self really messed them up. He kept his word to Allure. Allure faced the worst kind of betrayal from everyone in her family. It's good that her soon to be sister-in-law is a therapist. How is Carmelo mad at Allure for being with Riot and he caused it in the first place? Havoc ain't have all, knowing he wasn't about that life? Mimi is a fool because she should have took the money Riot was offering, but nah she wanted to get revenge. Now look her, her sister and her man is dead.Havoc only did one good deed and that's let Rollo live. So Irina, she didn't lose her man. Abra was Tessa assistant but not really because if she was paying attention she would have known she had cameras in the house. Riot promised Allure everything made her dreams come true. They really love each other. What he had with Malia was childhood love
Wow, what a dark tale. I liked the plot twists and it kept it exciting. I wished Allure's storyline was fleshed out a bit more...It felt like she overcame her challenges quite easily and quickly.
I liked that all the loose ends were tied up and I am interested to know Cannon's story.
I didn't read Creed's story and I'm glad they are standalones because I didn't have to read Creed to understand.
I felt sorry for Tessa...I had a feeling she wasn't crazy and was giving cryptic warnings all along. I liked that Creed had the nose of a bloodhound that was a unique character trait. There's so much more I can say but I don't want to ruin it for others!
This was a great read. I'd give it like a 4.5. My first time reading anything from this author. It was a bit wordy and a slow build but I'm still curious to read her other work.
Now listen here… this man right here?! Yeah. Riot officially became my favorite King brother.
Where Creed was calm, calculated, and always thinking three steps ahead, Riot was all gas and no brakes. He moved off instinct, off emotion, and this book felt exactly like that. So much was happening that all you could really do was buckle up and hope you didn’t fly off the road.
The family drama? Heavy. Riot dealing with his anger the only way he knows how? Intense. And then… Allure.
It wasn’t even physical at first. It was her presence. Her scent. Her eyes. Something about her caught him in a way he wasn’t prepared for. And when fate threw them back together? Riot knew immediately he would go to war behind that woman. No hesitation.
What I really loved was watching Riot grow. Page by page, you could see him learning to pause, to think, to choose his actions more carefully, slowly becoming more like Creed in that regard. But don’t get it twisted… he was still very much Riot.
And Allure? Oh no. Don’t mistake soft-spoken and pretty for weak. My girl had endured things she never should have had to endure, and her healing journey is not a light one. But she was not some fragile flower. She was active. She was strong. And she absolutely held her own. Clock that.
These King brothers have me in a chokehold, and honestly? I don’t even want to be free.
Poor Allure, held captive for years, under a pedophile sicko as her captor. Once Riot got wind of women being held like animals under Boaz, a crazy possessive man, it was on, he had to find a way, but it worked out differently, he received his peace from the destruction! Riot always feeling like he was born to destroy, half brother Havoc always feeling not good enough. In the end one broke free, the other dying without healing! Silas, their father was an evil man, ruined Havoc, but also Riot and Creed! Through Allure and a lot of soul cleansing, Riot finally got happiness. So many died unnecessarily in this book, now another family secret has surfaced! Oh and Abra, just conniving, she got dealt with though. Those King brothers aren't to be played with. Can't wait to read Cannon's story! Great emotional series!
Overall I loved the characters, storyline, twists & turns, betrayal, finding peace, growth, all of that. The characters are well developed and I enjoyed seeing Allure find her voice and Riot’s growth. Very excited to read Cannon’s story, I love me a family series and this one has been one of my favorites….that said…
I REALLY wanted to give this 4 stars but the typos and missed edits really started to bother me and interrupt the flow of the story. There were times where sisters names were switched causing confusion and Jasir name changed to Jason a few times making me think it was a whole new character entering the chat. There were also some descriptions of character feelings that just felt overdone. I mean how many repetitive sentences are necessary to describe Riot’s seething anger in the same paragraph? I refuse to believe it’s 7…
The King’s Family Saga continues… and I’m hooked! Riot is a dark soul—raised by his father to be ruthless and unfeeling, always ready to pull the trigger. But everything changes when Allure enters his life. She gives him something he never thought he could have: love, peace, and a real sense of family.
This story had me fully invested from start to finish. The character development, the emotional depth, and the undeniable chemistry between Riot and Allure made it impossible to put down.
If you love dark romance with redemption arcs and serious spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️, this one’s for you. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. Definitely check out this author’s work—available now on Kindle Unlimited!
This was a hard read. Despite finishing this book in a bout 3 days, I spent most of the time rolling my eyes.
Characters was just about likeable - I felt for Allure and what she had gone through but I don’t think she really dealt with her traumas well. Riot was a bit chaotic at times but had a good heart. Well for the other characters, what they were was what they deserved.
I think for me there was just too much repetition that at times felt like it was filling the word count. I didn’t really agree when it came to the ‘spicy’ scenes straight after a WILD scene (violence). The ending and closing some of the plots felt a bit predictable and never ending.
Introducing another brother? Yeah I think I’m gonna skip that one.
I mean from start to finish this book had little calmness in it. Riot was definitely a peace of work BUT him meeting Allure (the virgin) calmed him just a little. The fact that he was scared of what consequences would come heck had me scared for him. NOW his sense of smell and knowing what was wrong with that person was impeccable. Allure really brought calm even with everything she had endured with Boaz and her own family. Riot really was her peace. NOW the amount of not so loyal people the King Family had in their family was crazy but sad especially because neither brothers blinked at whatever they had to do. NOW how Cannon came into the picture I never would have thought. On to reading Cannon…
