It took me almost a week to find the right words to write a review for this book, and even then, I don't think I'll be able to do it justice.
Vicki knocks me off my feet with her words, every book of hers I've read has done it, but Henry and Phoebe... they've stuck with me.
The whole story pulls you in from the get-go. You're fully immersed and invested in the characters and their path. The setting of Mykonos is honestly a character in its own right. Then there's Henry... He surprised me, in the best possible way, and I honestly couldn't get enough of him. He's perfect in the most flawed way possible, sweeping your feet from under you before you're ready for it.
The words are lyrical and pull you along so effortlessly that you feel like you're in Greece with the gang, sitting poolside and drinking piña coladas, chatting about boys and books. Vicki has a beautiful way of writing these characters, the surroundings, and the chemistry... oh, the chemistry. It jumps off the page at you and wraps you up in it, constantly leaving you wanting more. I was even invested in the secondary characters, as invested in their stories as I was in Henry and Phoebe's. I couldn't get enough. I still want more, and it's been almost a week!
This book has everything you want in a Summer read, but it's also going to hit perfectly in the Winter when you're longing for the sun and the beach. Grab it now— don't hesitate!! I can't wait to jump in and give it a reread... Believe me, you're going to thank me when you get your hands on this one!
