When Iris announced that she was writing a new series in her mafia dark romance era, with Kanyan aka The Enforcer being the first book, I was SOLD! 🤩
Kanyan has been newly appointed as the Head of the Moreno family and must now rise to the challenge as a leader, if he wants his people to fall in line. However, he's inherited some unsavoury business dealings and men who would easily turn on him in an instant. If that wasn't bad enough, the Albanians have also come sniffing around.
Lula is a tightrope dancer but has been on the run for the past few years, hiding from the man she was promised to over her father's debt. She knows her past is catching up to her, but when Kanyan swears to protect her, she can't help wonder if she's truly able to be saved.
Since Kanyan's appearance in the Gatti brothers books, he's been an enigma. Formidable, intense but loyal, he definitely lives up to his name as 'The Enforcer'. I loved his protectiveness for Lula, who simply happened to capture his heart and made him 'feel'. The "who did this?" moment was simply one to live for (gahhhh, THAT tension was palpable! 🫠) Lula maybe young, but her independence, fierceness and loyalty was priceless. Even when the Albanians came knocking on her door, she was brave and fearless and fought with all she had. I loved her for Kanyan, who in return could not help but fall for his 'little dancer'. Ahhhh, their love was simply everything 💗🥹
I absolutely devoured this book from start to finish, and I cannot wait for more in the series!

I have read several books by this author, and although they are filled with fast-paced action, suspense, and a hint of romance, I am always left with wanting more each time. I noticed that in these books, the end is always feeling rushed. I wish I had maybe an extra 50 pages this time.
Kanyan has been a mystery since the Gatti books, always coming in to save the day, so I was excited to finally get a book from his POV and watch him fall for Lula. He is supposed to be this no emotion/rough enforcer, so it was interesting to see him when Lula was taken. Lula was an interesting character, but I was left with wanting to get to know her more. I wanted more from her backstory, and I felt them coming together was too soon... as did she really trust him yet?
I thought the plot was succinct and well done. It kept me on the edge of my seat, and I wanted to keep reading. I just wished that once again there was a wrap up, but instead the story does not feel finished, and the book just ends. I did not feel it was over yet, especially with Kanyan's plan for the enemy. I am hoping that plot point will continue in the next book. I did enjoy seeing all the other mafia heads, so it continues to be a series I will keep reading!

This is book one in the Gatti Enforcers series. Kanyan has been a mystery in his private life but on the business side he's strong, determined, overprotective, and shows no mercy. Lulu is a tightrope performer - either dancer or walker. She remained an enigma the entire book & I had trouble understanding or developing any type of feelings for her. She was extremely one dimensional.
The business side was extremely well written. Mason is better developed in this one and that's a plus. Also, the Gatti brothers make appearances. As for the private side, that was a letdown. Scar's book was terrific and Brando's a close second, but the other two brothers weren't as good. I'd hoped that with Kanyan being the type of person he was, we'd have an equal heroine. Unfortunately, she's a little girl. Had she had the inner strength and determination as Allegra or Jacklyn, she would have been multi-faceted and more intriguing. February 27, 2025Although this is a new series, we've met Kanyan before, in previous books by this author. This is also the case with the major characters in this book, so it's good to catch up with them and what's happening in their lives.
Kanyan is now head of the Moreno 'family' but is still The Enforcer.
He first sees Lula when she's working in one of the Gatti Brothers hotel, as a tightrope walker. He next sees her when he saves her from an attack by Derin Kadri, although he doesn't know it at the time. Derin believes that Lula belongs to him, after her father offered her up to clear his debt. Lula doesn't agree and this is why she keeps running.
What Kanyan and Lula have in common, apart from their chemistry and his desire to protect her, are the Albanians, and over the course of the book we find out what that means to each of them.

The book was a great start for the series. I would say there’s a lot of action going on. If any books were to get picked up for a movie this one would be great. It felt like being on a roller coaster in a good way. It starts with the tension between Lula and Kanyan, to them having a shinding and twists and turns afterwards. I truly loved it, the emotions they felt were strongly presented. Can’t wait for the rest of the series!

The beginning of the Gatti Enforcers series is out and Iris T. Cannon kicks it to super charge with Kanyan. Kanyan DeScarzi has recently been appointed head of the Moreno Crime Family. Along with that he does his protection duties for the Gatti family when asked. One night when heading up security for a new hotel opening for Scar Gatti, Kanyan noticed the beautiful young tightrope walker that was putting on a show for the guests. Lula was running from her past and her past was about to catch up to her.
As with all the other books I have read by Ms. Cannon this book is fantastic. You don't see what is coming and are astounded that it can all come together so brilliantly. I can never put these books down and expect the same thing of the next one I read.

Iris's writing is flawless, she writes effortlesssly with flow that keeps you gripped. Kanyan is a newly appointed mafia leader by Dante, he has to prove to himself he is worthwhile to be a leader. He is tested at every level, but the Gatti brothers amother mafia empire unite with him, guiding him. When he meets Lula he is transfixed by her beauty but also by her fierceness and talent as a dancer. Together they are a strong force.
Twists and turns lead to vengeance, obsession and a fight like never before. I enjoyed the fact that characters from the Gatti books appeared, learning more about their lives again. A fast paced book full of heat!

Lula is a young woman who has been on the run for years, Her father sold her to the devil and even though he helped her escape, the devil aka Derin is still coming after her.
When Kanyan and Lula's paths cross, Kanyan vows to keep Lula safe, even though she isn't sure anyone can save her. She wants to run again.
With thse books comes twists and turns, and our favorite characters from pervious books making an apperance. I love how the books are interconnected with each other, so we can continue to see our beloved characters.
I can't wait to see more of Kanyan and Lula in the books to come.

Mafia, instalove, arranged marriage, protector… this book covers several genres. Kanyan has risen the ranks of his chosen family. He's ruthless, has a troubled past, but is loyal to those he loves. Lula is a young woman who is betrayed by her father and relentlessly pursued by an obsessive suitor, not of her choosing. Their paths unintentionally cross and they are immediately drawn to one another. While this book can be read as a standalone, I felt like there may be prior books that have led up to this story. There were a few secondary characters who seemed to have backstories that would have enhanced this story a bit more. I have devoured this book in just over 24 hours.
Kanyan and Lula are both fierce and feisty in their own ways and they fit together beautifully. The rest of the side characters are all fantastic, the mafia plotline is fast paced and action packed and keeps you reading from start to finish.
The only thing stopping this from being 5 stars for me was I felt with it being marketed as romance, I needed more from Kanyan and Lula's relationship overall to truly feel their connection.

This is a good book it's the reason you read mafia books. The storyline was something new the writing and editing was done well. I liked that there was a buildup before intimacy intimacy and I do like the Virgin trope. I appreciated that there was no abuse and sex was not used for punishment, like forced anal sex What I didn't like is the author repeated the same scenes from a different point of view. I think the villain was smarter than the MMC in this book. I enjoyed this book and we'll read more from this author.

Kanyan and Lula's story is a truly exciting and captivating read. Lula has been running for so long from a very dangerous man. Lula finds herself in the sight of Kanyan and Kanyan wants her. This book has so many twists and turns it made my head spin, but it was also easy to follow. Kanyan is very protective of Lula because of what happened in his past. I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for more.

Derin Kadri has been following Lula the girl her father sold . Kanyan will become Lula protector. It’s a story with a lot of twist and turns. However, I don’t believe it’s over , it is just the beginning. Loved this story.

Kanyan was an enforcer, but the other bosses made him a leader to fix the mafia family. One day, he was at an event, his first sight of Lula balancing on a rope in the air. He wanted to know more about her, but she had a secret and was always moving around. She was always looking over her shoulder to see if her past would catch up to her. They were new to this relationship, and it was supposed only to be him offering his help to her.

Kanyan is book 1 in the Gatti Bloodlines series and is Kanyan and Lulas story.
Kanyan is Head of the Moreno Family and Lula is a dancer on the run. Their story is intense, dramatic and intriguing with plenty of action, danger, secrets and betrayals. All of this combines to be a fantastic journey with these great characters. I can't wait to see what's next for this Gatti Bloodlines series!

This is Gatti Enforcers: Book 1
I enjoyed the book. The storyline was engaging and the characters were well developed. The chemistry between Lula and Kanyan was great. The steam level was good as well.

This is Kanyan and Lula. Kanyan newly appointed head of the family formerly under Moreno’s charge faces challenges from both enemies and Lula. A story packed with twists and turns which kept me gripped throughout. An enjoyable read.

This is the first book in the Gatti Bloodlines series. Kanyan and Lula’s story is well written, steamy and engaging. It’s fast paced and full of twists and turns. The characters were well developed. Lula and Kanyan had awesome chemistry. It’s an amazing story.

I fell in love with Kanyan. He is the perfect bad boy, but protective. It was a little wanna come on Lula girl get with the program, but then it got good. I so dislike Derin and his cousin.

Kanyan is the example of determination... Not believing that he can be happy in his life... makes him push away everyone who shows him love, even though he helped others find it. Kanyan, love you ❤️🩹

I read the entire book and admire the mafia/violence story but somehow, to me, it just kinda dragged along. However I have no critique on how it could be improved.

I liked the book as a whole. The flow was pretty great, albeit a little fast. I do wish we got more of a background on the FMC and her BBG. But the spice was spicy and the tension was absolutely tense. The end seemed a bit rushed, and it was like it was one thing after another other with no chance to breathe.
