Where Light Ends - FOLIANT FOUR:

Rate this book
Clinging to life after a terrible natural disaster, the Tills family are presented with a new threat that has no easy answer. With Los Angeles behind them, the O'Brians are closer than ever to home - but the last miles are always the most difficult in book 4 of FOLIANT.

From 4-million-copy bestselling master of thrilling fiction Mike Kraus comes a new epic FOLIANT.

A nerve agent is deployed in cities across the country, and within hours tens of millions are dead - but the worst is yet to come.

Caught in the middle of the attacks in Los Angeles, the vacationing O’Brian family barely survives by the skin of their teeth - but soon find themselves trapped in the midst of a city of the dead. The only way back to their family in Oregon is to go straight through the heart of the charnel house, a prospect that is easier said than done.

Far to the north, in Oregon, the Tills family vineyard is spared the worst of the initial attacks - but the secondary effects may be their undoing as the world falls apart around them.

For those in charge of the response, the attacks are evolving too quickly to predict, and the country’s final undoing may be closer than anyone realizes as the terrible attacks have only just begun....

FOLIANT is a thrilling 6-book series that blurs the line between technothriller, post-apocalyptic thriller and all-too-real possible predictor of the future. Written by 4-million-copy bestselling author Mike Kraus and published by Muonic Press, Where Light Ends is book 4 in this epic series.

Answers that raise more questions, and the bar for survival...
Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2025
As the O'Brien's come to terms with the fact that a very powerful man may have sacrificed himself to aid their escape from the overrun base, the Tills, still dealing with the aftermath of the fires, A new threat shows up on their doorstep that stuns everyone at the vineyard, meanwhile Acting President Simmons still struggles with the fallout from the attacks. The source of the attacks is posited but not yet confirmed, leaving her horrified beyond words. The mechanism of the attacks is confirmed by the CBRN team and pointed out to the O'Brien clan by an observant and friendly old couple. There are a couple jaw dropping surprises that you will not see coming and I'm not giving them away. The narrative quality is off the charts, and the characters start showing some shock, especially the kids and Acting President Simmons, which is reflected in the sharp dialog. The characters are becoming even more realistic as the stress of survival when violence and death seem inevitable begins to show in their speech and behavior. Descriptions of the environment are becoming more haunting a the dead begin to truly decompose, leading to some harrowing moments for the O'Briens, and the attackers at the vineyard are identified, leaving nerves shredded by all at the vineyard. 5/5 hard earned stars! If you're of apocalyptic survival thrillers and aren't reading the Filing series, you're seriously missing out. For other audiences who aren't necessarily fans of the genre, the quality of the writing will quickly change minds. Highly recommended for just about everyone!

The struggles continue for the Tills and O'Brien families, in Mike Kraus' riveting, post-Apocalyptic survival-thriller, Where Light Ends: FOLIANT 4.
The Tills' vineyard home is under threat from strangers - and some familiar faces - while their younger family members have saved a VIP, only to lose him, as they fight to overcome many dangers, on their long homeward trek.
And in the White House, even stranger events are occurring.
Who's behind it all?

You'll have to read FOLIANT #4: Where Light Ends, to see if life as tqhey knew it is lost - forever!

They just keep getting better!

This series of books is complex, interesting and has a new twist every so often! The characters are so realistic that I feel like I know them. The descriptions tend to be somewhat lengthy but keep you on the edge of your seat! I finish one books download the next and just keep on reading!

A Thriller indeed! Mike Kraus has outdone himself with this one!

Foliant Four is the best of this series yet. Couldn't put this down and oh I tried to just read a chapter or two at first, but the story just continued to be more intense. I suspect anyone having read Mike Kraus books will love this one!

Thoroughly enjoying this series and Foliant 4 is definitely delivering with the ongoing drama and suspense. Great storyline that continues with our two families battling enemies of all kinds, friend and foe and what's left of a government trying to get a handle on the problems. Brilliant story.

This was a very good book and addition to this series. There is a lot of action and a surprise character return at the end. The action at the winery was very good and illustrates that good people will do bad things when they are desperate. I look forward to book 5.
