A Very Happy Thanksgiving

Happy mothercluckin’ holidays…

Heartthrob Marc di Gregorio is living the Hollywood dream—a luxury home, fast cars, a string of beautiful women on speed dial. But appearances can be deceptive. All he wants is a cold beer, peace and quiet, and the woman he lost a decade ago because he couldn’t admit he might be wrong.

Phaedra Roebuck—aka Dusk—lives in the shadows. As part of a secretive special ops team, she has top-notch training, toys that would make a movie villain weep, and a team of smart, deadly women at her back. But there’s something missing. The man she ditched a decade ago because she couldn’t admit she might be wrong.

When Marc disappears from the set of his latest movie just before Thanksgiving, Phae can’t simply stand back and wait for the local cops to do their job. Finding a missing man is all in a day’s work for the Choir, but can Phae and Marc kiss and make up along the way?

A Very Happy Thanksgiving is a dark romcom with a movie star hero, an unhinged heroine, a morally grey girl squad, and two strong-willed Thanksgiving turkeys.

Elise Noble is an English rose with a few thorns who loves chocolate, sleep, and well-defined abs. Not hers, unfortunately. She lives near London with a horse who eats all her money and three dogs who eat everything else.

Elise writes real, gutsy heroines and flawed but swoon-worthy heroes in stories that mix mystery and mayhem, humour and happily-ever-afters.

A Very Happy Thanksgiving – Review

A Very Happy Thanksgiving is yet another entertaining read from one of my favourite authors, and believe me, after so many of her books, she never fails to deliver an amazing reading experience.

If you love your female characters feisty, resilient, strong (both physically and emotionally), and armed with a wicked sense of humour and justice, then these women will absolutely impress you. Think James Bond—only with more flair for dramatics in the love department—but definitely the kind of woman you’d want on your side, no matter what.

As the fifth book in the Happy Ever After series, readers are introduced to yet another wildly engaging femme fatale from The Choir—a secret government group of female assassins who dedicate themselves to taking down society’s vermin. This story centres around Dusk, aka Phae, and her disastrous past relationship with Hollywood heartthrob Marc di Gregorio, all tangled up in a kidnapping event that spells trouble with a hefty dose of humour.

One of the biggest reasons I adore this author’s work is her ability to create female characters who are not just inspiring but freaking inspiring—especially in a world where women are too often portrayed as emotionally fragile. Her heroines rely not only on their natural instincts but also on the real strengths that women possess every day.

The story is brilliantly devised—perfectly balanced with humour and snark, drama, action, emotional depth, and the ever-present what-ifs that come with love and relationships. Best of all, it’s wrapped up in a way that leaves you uplifted, not traumatised, while you’re cheering for good to prevail.

Another aspect I adore is the cross-over of characters from the author’s previous books—it makes the world feel richer and more connected. There are countless laugh-out-loud moments and sparkling conversations that make the story shine even brighter.

For anyone new to this author, the beauty of A Very Happy Thanksgiving is that it works perfectly as a standalone, though I wholeheartedly recommend diving into her other works to experience the full brilliance of her storytelling.

“A Very Happy Thanksgiving” is the latest addition to the “Happy Ever After” series by Elise Noble, and it’s yet another delightful blend of humor and intrigue. The characters are wonderfully complex, with shades of gray that make them all the more captivating. The so-called “bad guys” have their redeeming qualities, while the “good guys” are intriguingly layered and occasionally dangerous.

Elise Noble’s talent shines through in crafting unique, memorable characters that keep readers engaged. The plot is light and entertaining, yet it subtly weaves in deeper themes that add depth to the story. Overall, this book is a joyful read, full of witty moments and clever dialogue that will make you laugh out loud.

In short, “A Very Happy Thanksgiving” is a testament to Elise Noble’s storytelling prowess, delivering both entertainment and a touch of depth.

A Very Happy Thanksgiving is the fifth book in the fabulous ‘Happy Ever After’ series. Whilst this book can be read as a wonderful stand alone I definitely recommend that these books are read in order to fully appreciate the characters.

This book has everything you expect from this author … brilliant writing, a great storyline, incredible characters. Action, adventure, chaos, fun. Also, the actor and the assassin have history that is about to catch up with them in an unexpected and dangerous way. Then of course there are the turkeys!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and series, and cannot recommend it highly enough. Fans of Elise Noble and this genre will love it. If you are looking for a book that will keep you entertained, turning the pages and looking for more then this is the book for you.

A very Happy Thanksgiving by Elise Noble
The main characters Marc di Gregorio and Phaedra Roebuck aka Dusk are characters that have popped up in previous books as secondary characters. This book is their journey to their Happy Ever After.
I was engaged with the story and the characters; there is mayhem, a lot of witty dialogue, the usual shenanigan's, action and adventure and Emmy. I always enjoy reading about characters from previous books to find out what they have been up to. A thoroughly enjoyable read.
This can be read as a stand-alone book. 5 stars.

Can I just say, I LOVE the Choir? They’re all certifiably nuts, in the very best way… Not to mention, they always come through! This time it’s Phaedra (aka Dusk) on the receiving end of their antics; until Marc and a costar are kidnapped from their TV show set in a tiny island in SE Asia. That’s when Phaedra and the Choir head out to save the day, and yessss there are some interesting plot twists that no one else but Elise would even think up, and which make her books such a delight to read! And of course… EMMY! Everyone wins: Marc and Phae... others I can’t mention because (spoilers!)… and even the tarsiers (mostly thanks to Emmy).

I love Phae! She can give Emmy a run for the money in both snark and humor! While Emmy is a favorite, Phae is a very close second. I love how much Emmy is in this book; she really brings it to life. Marc and Phae are both products of upbringing and choices in life. It was great to see the road they followed. Oh and the turkey's are a hoot! I'm also happy to see the nod to environmental causes. Another great book. I go into withdrawal mode after Elise's latest book, so I'm very much looking forward to her next one. It cannot come quick enough! Highly recommend this series. Each one has some similar plots, but the twists are what make them memorable.

What is a recipe for a Happy Thanksgiving?
First: Kidnapped Hollywood Stars, Marc di Gregorio and Serena Carlisle while filming Whispers in Willowbrook on the Indonesian islands of Malta.
Second: Rescue teams composed of Blackwood Security’s APAC led by Emmy Black and an Army’s Special Point Team Golf called the Choir of which Phae (Phaedra) is a member are called upon to rescue the kidnapped stars.
Add: Phae has been avoiding Marc, who is her ex boyfriend.
The results? Another fun action-packed story filled with bizarre twists, humor and endearing characters. Elise has provided the reader enjoyment and A Very Happy Thanksgiving.

A Very Happy Thanksgiving is the fifth book in the Happily Ever After series from the fabulous Elise Noble. While you can read this book as a standalone you are going to fall in love with the world and characters Elise has created and will definitely want to start at thr beginning. There are just too many juicy tidbits you will want to know about!

I love that this book features both the Choir and Emmy Black. The dialog between Dusk and Emmy is so twisty, dark and hilarious all at the same time! Add in the sexy movie star, renegade turkeys, adventure and romance and you have an entertaining read that you don't want to end!

Love the Happy Ever After series for giving us some shorter insights into characters that have shown up in the Blackwood series. If you haven't read Elise Noble before I would recommend starting out with her Blackwood Security series ;) You'll be hooked. In this episode we see more of the 'Choir' and get to have a chuckle along with them as they attempt to solve a puzzling abduction which is personal for one of the team. Having meet Marc in previous books it is great to get to know him in more depth. Not to mention Emmy's cameo :)

Kidnapping, assassins, a Hollywood heartthrob, and a whole lot of laughter - welcome to another Elise Noble book. I never miss books from this author; she brings snarky humour and pathos for a refreshingly quirky look at the world of special ops, in books that you don't want to put down. The characters are engaging, the way they think is weird, the situations they end up in range from scary to ridiculous, and they have a very different view of the world. Don't miss this story, it's a lot of fun and well written.

This is the story of Phaedra (Dusk) and Marc, neighborhood friends and sweethearts. Marc goes onto Hollywood while Phaedra heads to the Army. You learn a lot of why Dusk is the way she is now from learning of her youth.

They inadvertently meet again while Dusk is working but she doesn't believe Marc still loves her or will after he sees what she does for a living.

This story was interesting and kept me reading well past bedtime! Elise is wonderful at telling these stories.

When terrorists attack a film set the Choir and Blackwood team up to rescue the two actors that have been abducted.

Dusk is determined to get Marc back and do it without him knowing that she was involved. It's been a decade since their breakup but neither moved on since their careers took them in different directions.

This female centered story is full of action with a ton of laughs and snark.

A Very Happy Thanksgiving – for some, more than others!
Two exceptionally stubborn people, a serious wake-up call, and a bunch of Blackwood and Blackwood-adjacent operatives – what could go wrong? Which for readers of Elise Noble’s books is oh, so right. As always - engaging characters, witty dialogue, lots of sass, and deliciously blurred lines between the good guys and the bad guys. I enjoyed this book very much and look forward to the next book in any of Ms. Noble’s series.

When the stunning Marc di Gregorio is kidnapped, Phae, one of the Choir girls, goes to great lengths to rescue him. But as she searches, will their hearts rediscover the connection they once had?

A Very Happy Thanksgiving by Elise Noble

Another amazing pick me up that you can’t put down by Elise. As always, this book really appeals to my sense of humor, action adventure with a little bit of spice and danger thrown in. But we mustn’t forget the best part which is kickass females showing you how to get the job done.

I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Loved the Very Happy series, and this one didn't disappoint. Two characters we have met in other books, who have been avoiding each other. Dusk, her friends and Blackwood, set out to rescue Marc, but not all is as it seems. It never is in Elise Noble's stories, but I didn't see this twist coming. Brilliant book, and brilliant series.

In this book, we get to follow along with Phae (aka Dusk), a choir member, as she grapples with untangling the kidnapping of her ex-boyfriend, Marc - a Hollywood super star - by a wanna be ecoterrorism group. Mayhem and shenanigans ensue, along with an appearance by Emmy Black. After much snark and head shaking, love wins out and environmental disasters are averted.

Loved it !!! Picked it up and absolutely could not put down. Story had everything, love lost due to decisions made. After a decade they see each other again in a very stressful situation and decide they still love each other. Just written beautifully. I received a freecopy of the book to read.

A great quick read, full of action and humour. I liked that this book had fewer characters than some of the previous books, which made it easier for me to keep up with who was who. What is not to love about a book that includes "fresh" turkeys - so fresh they are running amok, a kidnapped hero, an unhinged heroine, a morally grey girl squad. I love the interaction between the characters - especially the ever-changing dynamics between Dusk and Emmie. Each character has a distinct personality, which readers will love.
