The Rising Dawn - FOLIANT SIX:

Rate this book
Life is fleeting, a fact that no one knows better than the O'Brian and Tills families as they face their worst enemies, their personal fears and the destruction of everything they hold dear in the final chapter of FOLIANT.

From 4-million-copy bestselling master of thrilling fiction Mike Kraus comes a new epic FOLIANT.

A nerve agent is deployed in cities across the country, and within hours tens of millions are dead - but the worst is yet to come.

Caught in the middle of the attacks in Los Angeles, the vacationing O’Brian family barely survives by the skin of their teeth - but soon find themselves trapped in the midst of a city of the dead. The only way back to their family in Oregon is to go straight through the heart of the charnel house, a prospect that is easier said than done.

Far to the north, in Oregon, the Tills family vineyard is spared the worst of the initial attacks - but the secondary effects may be their undoing as the world falls apart around them.

For those in charge of the response, the attacks are evolving too quickly to predict, and the country’s final undoing may be closer than anyone realizes as the terrible attacks have only just begun....

FOLIANT is a thrilling 6-book series that blurs the line between technothriller, post-apocalyptic thriller and all-too-real possible predictor of the future. Written by 4-million-copy bestselling author Mike Kraus and published by Muonic Press, The Rising Dawn is book 6 in this epic series.

An old world becoming new again

The Foliant series, spanning six captivating books, took me on an extraordinary emotional journey. Each volume presented unique and compelling highlights that drew me deeper into the narrative. The storytelling was so immersive that I found myself experiencing a wide range of emotions - laughing at moments of joy and shedding tears during poignant scenes. As I progressed through the books, I developed such a strong connection with the Tills and O'Brien families that by the conclusion, I felt like an honorary member of their close-knit community. The narrative was so powerful and realistic that it challenged my understanding of what could potentially happen in real life, blurring the lines between fiction and reality. The series left an indelible mark on my heart, making me feel deeply invested in the characters' lives and experiences.

This was an excellent end to a good series. Samantha was a bit over the top for me at times, though her anger was understandable. The Eddie group in Silverpine was one dimensional all around. I was amazed that as adept as Jason and Samantha have been they could be surprised by the likes of Eddie, but it was a good setup for what followed. I was intrigued by the discussion between Jane Simmons and Timothy Mcdouglas regarding the need for due process for those that engineered and caused the death of hundreds of millions, or the need to summarily execute them before they could use their money and power to escape, regroup and try again. Thanks for a great ending.

The Rising Dawn, book 6 in the Foliant series and the finale, continues the story of the combined Tills/O'Brien clan attempting to rescue Sheila, Doug, and the others being held hostage after retaking the vineyard. The writing simply doesn't get much better, no matter the genre; plot, pace, characters, dialogue, everything is executed with the utmost precision! This is the finale that the Foliant series deserves! 5/5 stars, highly recommended to fans of technothrillers, survival thrillers and apocalyptic survival thrillers!

A set worth reading

Mike Kraus is one in my favourite author's, and once again does not disappoint with this story. I love that it's based around one familys struggles, traumas, and fears, with the usual apocalyptic background. A heart felt read, strong characters, and a thrilling ride make for a great series. If you love a post apocalyptic thriller as much as I do then this is the series for you. Enjoy!

Fantastic series!

Waited with bated breath for each new book. Being raised in LA, this was about as scary as it comes. Living where I did and worked, I would, too, have been a static. The story gave hope for the survival of as many as possible. Mix in the President and the discovery of whom did the the worst deeds thought of, you have an unforgettable tale.

best ever

I’ve read most of Mike Kraus’ books and this series has been my favorite.
It starts out a little slow as you get to know the characters but, just hang on.
