The Deep of Night - FOLIANT FIVE:

Rate this book
After a less than cordial welcome at the family vineyard, the O'Brian and Tills groups are put in their hardest situation yet, where every choice is a compromise. Home is where the heart is... unless that heart has been ripped out in the penultimate book of FOLIANT.

From 4-million-copy bestselling master of thrilling fiction Mike Kraus comes a new epic FOLIANT.

A nerve agent is deployed in cities across the country, and within hours tens of millions are dead - but the worst is yet to come.

Caught in the middle of the attacks in Los Angeles, the vacationing O’Brian family barely survives by the skin of their teeth - but soon find themselves trapped in the midst of a city of the dead. The only way back to their family in Oregon is to go straight through the heart of the charnel house, a prospect that is easier said than done.

Far to the north, in Oregon, the Tills family vineyard is spared the worst of the initial attacks - but the secondary effects may be their undoing as the world falls apart around them.

For those in charge of the response, the attacks are evolving too quickly to predict, and the country’s final undoing may be closer than anyone realizes as the terrible attacks have only just begun....

FOLIANT is a thrilling 6-book series that blurs the line between technothriller, post-apocalyptic thriller and all-too-real possible predictor of the future. Written by 4-million-copy bestselling author Mike Kraus and published by Muonic Press, The Deep of Night is book 5 in this epic series.

The Deep Of Night, book 5 in the Foliant series is an enjoyable read and absolute blast! With the situation at the Vineyard escalating and the O'Briens arriving to a welcome of gunfire, the pieces are all falling into place for an explosive final chapter. As always, the writing is excellent, with great narrative quality and very clear descriptions of action and devastated environments. If the set up is any indication, the final installment in the Foliant series has the potential to be amazing! 5/5 stars! Highly recommended for fans of apocalyptic survival thrillers and anyone who enjoys unpredictable series!

It's hard to put down ....

I will be on pins and needles waiting for the next book. The storyline of all the characters is excellent. Where it starts is where I grew up, and it definitely hits home with a frightening punch. I will definitely be purchasing this series... and passing it on to my grandchildren.

This was an excellent volume in a very good series. There is a lot of action, both in Oregon and Washington DC. While Samantha and Jason are decidedly above average in the attack and defend skills, they are not really unbelievably so. The writing and editing are also good and I guess I have to wait for book six now.

This was a really great read! I really enjoyed it! More stress, adventure & danger for the main characters, lots of action, it had me so involved I read it in one day. A good adventure, in a deadly enviroment that left me really hoping the characters do manage to survive this turbulent world!

Fantastic series!!!!

I have enjoyed the 5 books so far. Once you get use to the location changes it just makes sense. You are not left wondering what happens to previous people and locations.
