I’m starting my senior year at Brentwood High with three finally made it into the Top Tier—Brentwood’s most elite popularity circle.
I’m co-captain of the cheer squad with my best friend-slash-queen bee, Jade Dyer.
I’m in desperate need a boyfriend.
Now that my mom’s archaic dating ban is officially over, I’m ready for more than perfect hair and pom-poms—I want Brentwood’s next It-Couple status.
Enter Logan. I tripped—literally—into his arms at Brentwood High’s open house, and suddenly the world blurred around us. Mega cute, annoyingly funny, and the kind of boy who’d be the perfect half of my It-Couple dream.
The problem? He showed up to Brentwood on a dare, and he actually goes to Jefferson High. Brentwood’s sworn enemy. Their football team’s quarterback.
Off-limits doesn’t even begin to cover it.
But when my friends crown me “Most Likely to Peak in High School,” I panic. Desperate to prove them wrong, I make the dumbest decision date Logan, a Jefferson Bulldog, in secret. Exposure therapy, I tell myself. Just long enough to show I can break rules, that I don’t just blindly follow orders, that I can think for myself. That I won’t peak in high school.
Except every laugh, late-night text, and stolen moment makes me question everything I thought I knew—my friendship with Jade, the social hierarchy I've clung to, and the past I tried to bury. And the closer I get to a boy I was never supposed to love, the more I realize the people I trust most might be the ones who could ruin everything.

Thank you, Sarah, for this digital ARC! This was worth the wait. This book wrapped up the series perfectly. Sarah does no wrong in my brain. If you want well-written YA romances, she is my GO TO recommendation. All her stories have a lot of depth and approach difficult conversations in a way that's appropriate and thoughtful. I felt like this one was especially relevant and incredibly well done. She captured what a bad friendship looks like and the difficulty of being manipulated by a narcissist. Seeing Madison struggle with her identity and struggle to change her ways is extremely relevant in a high school setting and beyond, and to approach it with such grace and thoughtfulness is incredible. For the fun stuff, I LOVE HOT AWKWARD NERDS. I LOVED Landon from the previous book, but I fear Logan is my new love. He was so golden retriever but also so mature and in tune with his emotions. Some of the depth from him was SO unexpected, and I loved that part of him. I thought he was adorable, and he really brought out the good in Madison, which I really admired. Madison frustrated me, but in a good way. I just wanted her to wake up to her reality, but the truth is, her behavior is the norm for many girls her age, and I really couldn’t blame her. I had a lot of sympathy for her, and I loved her character development. We got to see her become better and not be the girl we thought she was. She was a lot more caring and genuine than we see in other books, which I really enjoyed. I think the whole series was well done and tackles deeper subjects beyond romance. I can’t wait to see what Sarah has planned next! There were a few passionate kisses.
“I’d rather die than date a bulldog.” -Madison Oliphant
The perfect ending to The Most Likely Too series! Madison and Landon’s story was exactly what I’d hoped for and more. Sarah came back to a series after a few years and gave it an ending that tied the whole series up perfectly.
From Teaching the Teacher's Pet to Dreaming About the Boy Next Door to Rebelling with the Bad Boy to Fake Dating the Football Player each book was intertwined with wonderful characters, each unique and with a gripping story of their own. Returning to Brentwood one last time felt so exciting. I was really happy we got to see Maisie, Connor, Ava, Reed, Gemma, Hudson, Lacy and Landon again. I loved their books but always wanted more. After FDTFP I never thought we'd get to revisit Brentwood High again. So when Sarah announced FWTE I got slightly overexcited!
Madison and Landon meet at an open day and they instantly have a connection, they go on a date and spend a week on the phone every night. Only for Landon to reveal he's a player for Jefferson High, Brentwood's enemies.
I love Sarah's writing style, the way she can adapt to every different emotion and situation. She brings her characters to life, she packs her books with so much emotion that the reader is overwhelmed. This book had more plot twists than I expected. Sarah made sure that this series ended with a bang. The pacing was spot on. We've followed this timeline through four books before this one so it's hard to think there's any new information and yet I found myself being surprised over and over and discovering new information.
We've gotten to know Madison in the part four books and I was ready to get her side of the story. I was shocked by how much she was being used by Jade. I knew Jade was a horrible person but she was even bigger a bully than I thought. Over the course of the book Madison began to realise how much Jade was using her, with Logan's help she began to question her whole high school experience. As she questions it all she begins to change and stand up to the people around her and take risks.
Logan was like a mystery man the whole book. He showed up when Madison needed him and helped show her how incredible she was. He was both an absolute golden retriever and also so abrupt, he wasn't scared to say what he was thinking and tell people if they were in the wrong. I loved his friendship with Noah, I wish we could have seen a bit more of it than we did.
I LOVED reading about Madison!!! Her character development was amazing. She learned to start living for herself and doing things for herself and not just because others want her to. And Logan Castle is the sweetest, most adorable, golden retriever love interest. Everything about him is just perfect.
The book I didn’t know I needed! Oh wow did I love this one! I have said it before and I will say it again - I love Sarah Sutton’s books. Her stories are sweet and swoony, clean but full of chemistry and no one builds better anticipation for the first kiss than her!
Her Most Likely To series is one of these book series where you think with every new addition THIS is my favorite and still can’t decide after having read them all.
Madison is not the most likable character in the series. The other female main characters are quite different and far more relatable (at least for me personally) and while I was definitely curious about Madison’s story since book 1, I was not that excited since I wasn’t sure I would like her. If you have read at least the first book, Maisie’s story, it’s hard to think about Madison as someone you would want to be friends with and let’s be honest, nothing spoils a good book more than a main character you can’t stand.
But she has such an amazing character arc! Yes, she made mistakes. BIG mistakes. And I think blaming it on being a kid/teenager is making it too easy. Kids aren’t brainless idiots. She knew what she was doing, she knew it was wrong - which is why she felt guilty for years but tried to rationalize her behaviour. But being confronted with what her “best friend” and her Top Tier clique are willing to do for “fame” (we’re talking High School fame, not that any sort of fame would make bullying okay…) and what Madison herself was willing to overlook and what she actually wants to stand for makes her address her own faults and I love a good redemption story. And I think we can call it that.
[minor spoiler ahead] [end spoiler]
Of course I can’t forget Logan. I don’t think Madison would have realized how blind and spineless she acted for all of her Highschool years without him. Logan is absolutely adorable. He’s caring, thoughtful, not afraid to speak his mind, has strong values and he really struggles with doing right by everyone.
It was obvious that there was something going on, but I have to admit I wasn’t sure what exactly until the revelation near the end.
While I wasn’t completely sure about Logan at first (he’s definitely giving mixed signals), I loved the two of them together and Sarah wrote another couple you can’t help but to root for.
Sarah’s books are lighthearted but full of heart and I was surprised by how much I ended up liking Madison. She was kind of a coward and shallow before, but underneath she is actually really sweet and finally ready to confront Jade and her minions and to care more about what is right than about her image. Logan is not only the one inspiring her character development, he’s also one of the most mature, genuine, respectable and decent characters I have encountered in YA books in general. He’s pretty much the epitome of a golden retriever MMC without being cliché or one dimensional. The more I think about him, the more I love him to be honest. :D
I loved seeing all the couples of the MLT series again and while the ending is a bit kitschy and love stories often get a bit too cheesy for my taste I absolutely loved it. I mean we waited a long time for the finale that wraps up every unanswered question and gives us insights to scenes that were a bit “foggy” before, I kind of needed all the kitsch and cheese this time. ;)
I am definitely going to do a reread (or re-listen, since I bought all books in both versions) of the whole series and I really really hope Sarah will eventually sell the special editions copies in Europe. I NEED the boys’ POVs!
Highly recommend this book and this series if you’re looking for the cutest couples and the swooniest YA romances!
* Thank you to the author for letting me read an advanced copy of this book. I leave this review voluntarily and the expressed opinions are my own.

Oh my word...where do I even begin? This book was even better than I thought it was going to be.
I have been a fan of Sarah's for YEARS...that being said, I was very nervous about Madison's book because I'll be honest, I did not like her in the other books. I dealt with the catty mean girl stuff in school, so it was really difficult for me to wrap my head around her getting a book; however, in the end, I really appreciated Madison's book and feel like it was such a great way to end one of my favorite series.
Madison Oliphant is a complex character. We've seen her at her worst in previous books, but actually getting to see her side of things and how she was manipulated by her loyalty and feelings towards people that she trusted, which in turn caused her to make bad and hurtful decisions, was really needed to understand her character and why she acted the way she did.
Logan Castle, my little dorky lover boy. Logan is one of my favorite Sarah Sutton MMCs for sure. I like that for the most part, he never pretended to be someone else; he was dorky, sweet, and wholesome. He was exactly what Madison needed, and she was exactly what Logan needed. They were both lost in their own ways, and it was so sweet and heartwarming to see them find love, acceptance, and understanding in each other and those around them later on.
I'd love to leave this part out, however, it needs to be said lol. The back to back to back betrayals were CRAZY. I cried at least 3 times because it brought me back to moments in high school where I had to deal with similar feelings due to trusting the wrong people, and I really felt for Madison when she was going through everything. Without spoiling anything, I'm also really glad that Madison believed Blank when everything came to light rather than turning on them. She immediately was like what did you hold against Blank, because they wouldn't have done this unless they were threatened. I think that was a big part of her character development.
Lastly, this has nothing to do with this book's couple, but let's take it back to one of my all-time favorite Sarah Sutton couples, Maise and Connor. I LOVED getting to see the little insider moments from Teaching the Teacher's Pet, getting to see Connor's choices made in real time, and how he didn't come at things from a mean or hurtful way, but rather an annoyed and over it attitude, he literally threw her name out like it was nothing, he didn't even really know her yet, it healed me a little from the sad moment in that book. Also, when he goes to Madison's at the end to talk about you know what...THANK YOU!
Thank you for this opportunity and for letting me be a part of your final release in the series, a perfect way to end things. I'll forever love this series, and you should be proud of yourself for creating a universe that's so bittersweet to say goodbye to. ❤️
I have really enjoyed this entire series, but the whole time, in every book from Maisie to Lacey, I was wondering, what is going on with Maddison? Because it's very clear that something is going on.
While reading this book, I finally got the answers to all my questions.
What's going on with Maddy? The answer is Jade Dyer.
When your best friend is a toxic narcissist, life consists of walking on eggshells. Maddy has always been safe as Jade's ride-or-die bestie. Maddy does what Jade says, and she reaps all the benefits of Jade's sunny personality. Unfortunately, as soon as Maddy starts to question Jade (actually, even before she starts to question Jade—as soon as Jade perceives Maddy is a threat to her status as Queen Bee) she finds herself experiencing the "other side."
As she grapples with her Most Likely to Title (MLT Peak in High School), and her new relationship with Logan, Maddy begins to see that life is more fun when you're not standing in judgement of everyone around you, and maybe, just maybe, Jade isn't as caring as she pretends to be.
I loved the developing relationship between Logan and Maddy. I loved that she gave him a chance, and didn't shut him down as lame. I loved how she allowed herself the time and space to figure out if she actually liked him, or just the idea of him. I loved how she trusted him even after the twist was revealed. And I love, love, loved the fact that she slowly begins to heal, and learns to trust herself.
This story gives Maisie a bigger role, and we get to see some of our favourite MLT couples at the end, living out their happily ever afters. What I really appreciated about Maddy is that, when she learns better, she does better, and she gets to the point where she's no longer making excuses for her behaviour, or shifting blame, but instead accepts the hurt she caused, and apologises.
When I read that there was going to be another book in the Most Likely To Series, I was hooked, as Sarah Sutton is one of my favourite YA writers. I was also very happy to learn that it was going to be Madison’s story, as she was one of the characters I wanted to know more about. Specifically, about her friendship with Maisie. And with this book, I was not disappointed.
Through the other books, we were already introduced to Madison, but I wasn’t completely sure whether I liked or disliked her. However, through this book, she ends up joining Maisie as my favourite FMC. Her story, the mistakes she makes, her character development, how she slowly but steadily finds her true self towards the end - all of these made her an amazing character I enjoyed reading and learning more about. Her story with Logan is also, for sure, one of my favourites. Both of them were so different, and although they met under not-so-honest circumstances, the development of their relationship was genuine and they were always honest with each other about their feelings. In my opinion, Madison’s story was by far the most intriguing and exciting story as she went through many trials and betrayals and I think she was the character who needed to find herself the most.
Also, another thing I absolutely loved about the book was the cameos, the scenes with Maisie, and that one particular scene in the cafeteria towards the end - the scene and conversations warmed my heart and I felt so proud of all the characters and who they have become.
Logan was also a different kind of MMC, and I loved how he never shied away from being himself and showing his traits and opinions honestly. He might be coming for Connor as my fave male lead in this series.
All in all, I am very chalant about this book and it is hard to say goodbye to the characters of the series.
Oh my goodness! I absolutely adored this book. I have been waiting for years for Madisons’ book, and it did not disappoint. I really liked how we also got to see a short epilogue of some of the other characters too. I thought Madison was so relatable. She was trying hard to figure out who she was and who she wanted to be. After years of being Jade’s sidekick, she was finally kinda trying to do her own thing. Her struggles and slip ups felt real and made sense for her character. I feel like I was also able to have a lot more grace for her because we get to see her POV. I liked how Landon pushed her to be a better person too, but she didn’t change for him. She changed for herself because she didn’t like who she was becoming. Her arc was so satisfying! I thought Landon was the sweetest too! He was also trying his hardest to do what he thought was right, but everything was getting super complicated. I loved how he complemented Madison, and he saw beyond the popular facade that she hid behind. I did not expect the twists in his character too! I thought the whole plot was really well done! There is a lot of high school drama, but it was interesting to see it from Madison’ POV. I feel like she added another layer that we hadn’t really seen before. I would totally recommend this whole series! While this book can be read standalone, I recommend reading this one last. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review.
Sarah Sutton has done it again - Fraternizing with the Enemy is the absolute perfect ending to the MLT series! 💕 This book was amazing, and I loved seeing how Madison evolved throughout the entirety of it ☺️ her redemption arc is everything and it was so interesting to see the behind the scenes of the Top Tier too, especially knowing what happened in the other books. Logan is absolutely adorable 🥹 I loved seeing his relationship with Madison over the course of the book 🥰 and getting to see the other characters from the series was amazing as well ☺️
I could say so much about this book, but I really don't want to spoil anything - there are definitely things I didn't see coming - but this book made me smile and laugh, shocked me at times, made me tear up, and really gave me all the feels 🥹 the overall story was really well thought out - it may be a long book but I felt like it was all necessary and Sarah did an amazing job explaining everything ☺️ I loved seeing how everything worked together, how the timelines lined up with all the different events, and how the relationships evolved over the course of this book 🥹 Sarah did an amazing job with the final book in this series, and if you're looking for your next YA sweet romance book to read, I promise you'll love Fraternizing with the Enemy too! ☺️💕
at the start, madison’s attitude lowk pmo. and the way she flirted with logan? 😭👺
all this top tier stuff is REALLY just peaking in high school be so for real. jade and connor still dating? them being SO PREJUDICED towards anyone who isn’t “top tier” like you MUST have a boyfriend but he better be popular? 🙄🫡 jade can go die, i do NOT care about her.
the top tier is like a toxic cult, like i could see them becoming a horror movie of sorts as they slowly each get killed off. like it’s secret layered on secrets. geez.
madison is lowk such a pushover.
logan, my dorky sweet sweet logan!! the mini golf, arcade, if madison can’t appreciate it, just take ME. but he’s also like… confusing. i never know what he’s thinkingggg. and he like NEVER answers personal questions. just switches the topic. but yet, MY BABYYYYY.
okay but love noah too, even though at the start he was annoying. and him playing ROMEO? 💋
stop, dice and dragons or whatever that shop is called? i NEED a man who will take me there. i’m crying laughing. 🙏
“so you have something to remember me by”
okay this was THE BEST. like the PERFECT ending to the series, jade can go live in a dumpster but all of them as a friend group? STOP MY HEART- 💞
lowk shed some tears at that third act break up and ending 🥹

Best one in the series! Seeing Madison's growth was so satisfying, going from a bully cheerleader to righting her wrongs and becoming a new, kinder person. Her love story was so fun to read, and Logan takes the slot as the best love interest (next to Landon). Seeing a fuller side of Jade made me realize that she is the absolute WORST! This was a really long read (probably the longest rom-com ever I've read), but I enjoyed every moment of it. This was a fun series to read! Now can I get a bonus scene of this new friend group hanging out together? Because I think I need that.😆
Also, I got to say that how Sarah Sutton was able to write this series with all the overlapping scenes from different characters POVs was so brilliantly plotted and planned! I'm so impressed!
I have enjoyed every book in this series. Sarah writes high school relationships in such a fun way, with all the drama in full force. Logan was very sweet although I didn’t get a true handle on his character like I did some of the other a MMC’s in this series. Madison went through a journey and had some soul searching that she needed to do and I was happy to see that she eventually got there. Sarah always writes sweet relationships that stay PG, but with alllllll the sweet banter and chemistry. I appreciate that her YA books are actually suitable for young adults. This was super cute and I’d recommend all of the books in this series to YA readers and adults who prefer clean reads as well.
This book is absolutely adorable and impossible to put down! I loved following Madison as she navigates high school drama, secret romance, and a forbidden crush on Logan—it made my heart race with every stolen moment. Her journey to break rules, prove herself, and figure out who she really is feels so real and relatable. The chemistry between Madison and Logan is beyond cute, and all their late-night texts and laughs are heart-melting. Funny, emotional, and perfectly capturing the excitement of first love, this is a charming, feel-good high school romance you won’t forget.
IM SO CHALANT ABOUT THIS BOOK AND THIS SERIES I DONT WANT IT TO END 😭😭😭😭
i think this was definitely a good one to end on, i really loved the characters, i loved logan and madison. i love how we get to see all the friendships bloom in the end 🥹🥹🥹🥹 even if that means it’s over
GEMMA AND HUDSON MENTIONED!!! 🤗😝🤭
there’s something about sarah’s writing that gets me to cry in every single book it’s sooo not funny 😭💔😣
We were waiting for Madison's story my daughter and I!! And Sarah does not disappoint with this story for the most likely to series. There is angst and drama and swoon!! it was fun to get to know Madison and watch her grow through this novel and to get further into Brentwood's inner circle. It's like Gossip Girl meets one tree hill and I am such a fan!!
Cute and breezy and sweet and full of young love and character growth and school spirit, just like all of Sarah Sutton’s books 💜
I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the books leading up to this one in the Most Likely To series! I read Teaching the Teachers Pet when it first came out - looking forward to rereading :) we see a lot of Maisie in FWtE.
I liked the writing and the story but I’m gonili for high school books single content wasn’t really for me. Jade was so manipulative and controlling that it was hard to read. I liked that Madison learned and grew but I didn’t feel like she and Logan got to know each other outside of the superficial.
The perfect ending to the MLT series. It continued the timeline further out than the other MLT books and for good reason, too. It was a sweet romance with good themes, believable villains, and a lovely ending.
It was slow, burn, sweet and clean. Had a hard time understanding Logan for most of it. Madison definitely grew as a character. This book was a little bit more intense than the others. It’s written so well that I actually hated Jade the whole time.
