𝙱𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝚛𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠 : 𝚉𝙸𝙿 𝙸𝚃 𝚄𝙿 𝙱𝚈 𝙰𝙺𝙰𝚂𝙷 𝙹𝙰𝙸𝚂𝚆𝙰𝙻 Zip It Up is a short, engaging, and easy-to-read book. This book blends fitness advice with humor, personal anecdotes, with a Desi touch. It’s short, simple, and easy to read. The author, Akash Jaiswal, a district-level bodybuilder, shares his practical experiences that feels both relatable and motivating . the author keeps the tone light while tackling important aspects of health, fitness. His struggles and observations, making the book feel like advice from a friend rather than a lecture. That’s what makes it stand out.
★ The book begins with a simple yet powerful question: why do exercising, dieting, or lifestyle changes often fail to bring results? From there, it dives into body types, nutrition, sleep, and even the mind-body connection. The inclusion of styling tips based on body shape was another refreshing and unexpected angle.
The biggest strength of Zip It Up lies in its simplicity. The advice is practical, easy to follow, and peppered with the author’s humor and personal stories, which makes the book entertaining rather than overwhelming. It reminds readers that becoming the “best version of yourself” is a journey that starts with small and consistent habits not quick fixes or gimmicks. What I appreciated the most was the simplicity. Nothing here feels too heavy or complicated.

Akash Jaiswal's Zip It Up: Stay Fit, Stay Focused, Stay Fabulous is an easy-to-read, casual, and down-to-earth approach to understanding health, fitness, and mindset. Think of it less as a lecture, and more as a casual conversation with your best friend. He weaves in parts of his own experience, scientifically-grounded research, and learning about Indian food, fitness, and maybe a new approach at best to the notion of fitness. He breaks fitness down into three parts - stay fit (pragmatic and wearable workouts and nutrition), stay focused (mindset and habits) and stay fabulous (appreciation and expansion of confidence both internally and externally separate of the number on the scale). The best thing about this book is the simplicity. Instead of giving you more than you can take rule orientation to fitness, it is more about doing small things, providing some encouragement and motivation that anybody can do. Regardless if you happen to be a student, a job professional as we have discussed earlier, or just beginning your health journey, everyone can do. Jaiswal is funny, has a desi vibe and employs common sense so that reader can relate to what he is expressing. When there is a shared acronym, it only complicates the relatability and understanding of why a sound idea may stop and start at the same time. The overarching theme of behaviour change sustained over the long term to the opposite of behaviour change quick fix, however full of potential realism yet motivational, is quite inspirational in its own way. It is light, engaging and can even be powerful, not to mention it is the sort of book you can refer to every time you need to reset.
This is a self-help guide that blends fitness, mindset, and self-image into an empowering journey. Drawing from his own transformation, the author offers a personal yet practical blueprint for change. The book is divided into three clear sections: Staying Fit, Staying Focused, and Staying Fabulous. Each part tackles different aspects of well-being like fitness and food habits, mental discipline and emotional control, and confidence and self-worth. Instead of overwhelming rules, the author offers small, consistent steps that makes it feel practical and doable in everyday life. The conversational tone makes the book feel less like a lecture and more like advice from a friend. He simplifies fitness concepts and links them to Indian food habits and lifestyle, making healthy living feel approachable. The blend of medical insights with traditional ideas, such as Ayurveda and the mind-muscle connection, adds a refreshing perspective. That said, there are a few downsides. Some chapters could have been more structured with deeper examples. Typos were somewhat distracting, and the use of Hindi in many places without translation may deter readers who are unfamiliar with the language. Despite these minor flaws, this is an inspiring, practical, and motivating work. It encourages readers, from all walks of life or anyone stuck in cycles of failed attempts, to make simple, meaningful changes. By combining fitness, mindset, and confidence, the author tells us that transformation isn’t about drastic measures but about clarity, consistency, and compassion. This book is best suited for readers who want an easy-to-follow, relatable guide to reset their lifestyle and mindset.
I gotta say this if you’re tired of trying random diets or workout routines that just don’t stick, then yeah this book is your pick.
To me Zip It Up felt sooo different from the usual fitness books. Most of those either bore me or sound too imaginary with big promises. This book felt to me super practical. The author has kept it simple. No shortcuts, no “do this and do that” kinda imaginary stuff Just small stuff you can actually do daily. And tbh that’s what is most needed right?
He talks about fitness, food, mindset and even fashion. The body type explanation really made sense to me coz honestly one plan can’t work for everyone. And when he spoke about the whole mind-body connection, I was like yesss exactly. Being healthy isn’t just about sweating in the gym, it’s balance.
Fav part? Definitely the little everyday things I ignore… like learning how to read food labels, making a routine that actually matches lifestyle and simple tips to feel confident in my own skin. It literally feels like author is just talking to you, guiding you step by step. And the honesty? loved it. No fake promises, just straight up real talk from someone who’s actually been through it. So yeah… if you’ve been struggling to stay consistent or just want a practiacl & dost types guide, Zip It Up is totally worth a read.
Zip It Up by Akash Jaiswal was such an engaging read on health, diet, fitness, and how to love yourself and what you are. It was fun reading, as the good sense of humor of the author can be seen and makes you laugh while you read. It is from his personal experience of reading and watching multiple things to know how the human body works and how we can follow a lifestyle that makes us stay healthy and fit over time rather than following something for a few days and going back to old habits of eating junk and sitting idle to creating micro habits each day and presenting yourself well.
The book starts with the basics of how our system works, what muscles are, how having a small walk is important, and how to improve and make progress day by day. How the foods we eat play an important role based on our body type was also explained. Each chapter starts with a quote that makes us think. I loved the chapter where he explains old people too need some workouts to stay healthy and how muscle memory works and explains the body types and dresses that suit well whether you are thin or chubby; the way you present matters rather than thinking of wearing a good dress after becoming fit.
A good read to people who want to start their fitness journey or want to know how to make it a lifestyle.

Zip it Up, by Akash Jaiswal I'll start from the beginning. First of all, I praise the author. So, I must say, it's a very good book. I never thought that I would ever read a book on fitness. But I read it. Not just because there is something new in it, but I found its cover page impressive. After that, the author is a district level champion. I have read very few books of champions till date but in their stories, it is about how they struggled to reach a place where even reaching is very difficult for a common man. But till now I have not read anyone's book who has described his fitness journey in such a way. While reading it, I never felt like I was reading it. In between, it seemed so relatable. I have enjoyed reading this book a lot. Now whenever I get a chance to ask someone what is metabolism? Then I will definitely say pick up Akash Jaiswal's book. You will easily understand the heavy words that people use today. Even being a science student, I have never seen such a good combination of science and fitness that the author has given us. Will recommend this to everyone.
Zip It Up is not your typical fitness or self help book filled with empty promises it’s practical, straightforward, and refreshingly real. What stood out to me the most was how the author keeps things simple. No complicated hacks or unrealistic routines just small, consistent steps that anyone can actually follow every day.
The book covers fitness, food, mindset, and even lifestyle choices, showing how being healthy isn’t just about sweating at the gym, but about balance. I really liked the way the author explains concepts like body types, food labels, sleep cycles, and the mind body connection in a way that feels personal and easy to relate to. It honestly feels less like a lecture and more like a conversation with someone who’s been through it themselves.
My favorite part? The everyday tips we usually overlook like understanding packaged food, setting realistic routines, and feeling confident in your own skin. There’s no fake motivation here, just honest, practical advice.
