Odysseus: A Journey Beyond
A Journey Beyond is my reimagining of Homer’s Odyssey. This book isn’t just a retelling—it’s a deeper dive into the mind of a man shaped by war, haunted by his choices, and tested by powers far beyond mortal reach.
This book draws inspiration from Homer’s original poem and the incredible The Musical by Jorge Rivera-Herrans. I wanted to capture the weight of myth while making the story feel raw, personal, and grounded. It’s not just a fantasy epic—it’s a character study set against the backdrop of divine chaos.
My goal was to create a version of the Odyssey that was easier to read, in a style that is more in line with the culture of today. I want you to have a near full understanding of the Odyssey, while leaving you some room to explore and learn for yourself after!
There are essentially two endings to this book. The first coincides with the original ending of the Odyssey, while the second is my own personal ending made with an Anime theme in mind.
