When the bark IS worse than the biteA deadly hex is turning my newspaper colleagues’ skin to bark—and it’s up to me to find the magical killer before they strike again.
I thought moving to Ravens Hollow would be simple. One month into my new supernatural life, I figured my biggest challenges would be housebreaking my oversized puppy and writing fluff pieces for the local paper.
Then dark magic hits The Oracle, pulling me straight into an investigation tangled with vindictive sea witches, feuding werewolf packs, and ancient tree sprite magic even the coven can’t crack.
Now I’m chasing clues with Police Chief Whip—an immortal siren cursed with secrets—and Alex, a too-charming lion shifter who knows how to get under my skin. But in a town where everyone hides something and magic always comes at a price, finding the truth could cost me more than I’m ready to lose.
And the vampire trafficking ring that turned me? They haven’t forgotten about me either.
A paranormal cozy mystery featuring a vampire journalist, small-town supernatural politics, magical mayhem, and a slow-burn romance that defies nature itself.
Ravens Hollow Investigations Bylines and Bloodsuckers - Prequel Fangs and Front Pages - Book 1 Hexes and Headlines - Book 2 Demons and Deadlines - Book 3
I am an author of Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Fiction. I'm passionate about my family, reading, writing and cats. The order of which can change on a day to day basis.
Captivating, immersive , yes that's without a doubt applicable. Seemingly off to a slow start, not much happening in Ravens Hollow right. Whip is away. Omh Pongo and his button conversations is a wow, but he's antics with Josephina is hilarious. Just as I thought great comfy reading, yet knowing something big is about to explode (Ella doesn't do comfy) unknown hexes rack up the suspense. First Diego then Theodora and Nyrah and her brother are perplexed with the unknown magic. Elodie's suspect number 1 suspect is hexed too. The plot thickens dramatically from here, taking drastic unexpected turns. Without revealing too much, but to whet your appetite for more, the fighting and revelations at Inez's pack, the slow burn heating up with Whip, the revelation at the end that blasted me out of my pj's into the shower. Marvelous but, now I'm very curious what will be next and what Para is Theodora and why is Chloe engaged to that ape. Bring it on Ella, I'm definitely impatient. I received an advanced review copy from the author and leave this review voluntary Thank Ella
This is for all the urban fantasy, paranormal fiction and small town setting lovers out there. Fantastic characters, great world building and a fun story. Plus a little romance and a big puppy. What's not to love.
I really enjoyed this book. It's a continuation of the series and loads of fun. New vampire, supernatural town, working for a paper as an overcommitted investigative reporter.... and learning about the supernatural community as she goes.
Ravens Hollow is a fascinating town and Author Stone reveals it bit by bit. I'm enjoying every bit of Elodi and Pongo's story. This time she's trying to find out the basis of a hex and wow, it's a stunner!
There's even more afoot as she settles more into town life and tries juggling friends, potential dateworthy folks, and more. Author Stone tells a fast-paced, enjoyable story while leaving parts open for the next book too.
Ooo was I excited to get into this book as soon as I'd finished book 1! I'm addicted to Elodie and Whip and, obviously, Pongo, I seriously needed this installment! And once more we get the awesome humour that's fast becoming a trade mark for this illustrious author! It's such easy humour, off the cuff and thoroughly giggle worthy. Elodie is settling in well, with her new "status", her new town and her sweet doggie Pongo. She's an investigative journalist except, other than the murder she helped unravel on her very first day in Ravens Hollow, only the weird and the whacky seem to be in play. Like a thieving rabbit weird. So it's not surprising that, in her words, bored, "I never thought being a vampire could be so dull. And yet, here I was, wishing something would happen". Yeah... famous last words...you know what they say "be careful what you wish for". And then the poo hits the fan...
Book 1 was a wonderful fast read, a lighter note to it, like testing the water before diving in, this one expands beautifully, taking me deeper and deeper into the crux of the plot. The Guardians, a clandestine, illegal group of vamps who turned Elodie are out for blood. Her blood. It's only a matter of time. She on the other hand is determined to expose them and put an end to their vile practice. And hells, nothing will keep her from following any lead, once she hones in on something, which inevitably always gets her into trouble, the dangerous kind, she herself admits, "I listen to good advice people give and just ignore it". What she exposes though, is not the Guardians or their lackies, it's a deeper plot which, honestly, caught me totalling by surprise! So much caught me by surprise, Ms Stone didn't let up, she twisted and twirled the story, my thoughts veered from one direction to the next, all sorts of theories vying for attention!
Gosh, I have mentioned this book has more bite to it, the characters take even more shape, have more weight added to them (the only time addition weight is acceptable! 😁) giving me eye candy and then some! Ok, so not ONLY eye candy but I got the full bang shoot of what makes each one tick, what their aspirations and thoughts are, who they are at their core. I adore Chloe, she's definitely as fresh as a prig of flowers swaying in the wind, bubbley, excitable, cool in every way. The way Ms Stone captures the beauty of the relationships, warms my soul, Bobby, Dylan, Diego, Theodora , so close knit, a family. So when a dreadful hex is placed on 2 of them, they leave no stone unturned. But shoot, what they turn up is OMG!!!! My goodness are Josephina and Pongo a treat! She being a ghost, he being a pup, but neither are, again, "what you see is what you get" Because everything you DO see is so cool, so different... Heck, not only is Pongo growing at the rate of knots, he's so super bright, he's even learnt how to communicate, undeniably a brilliant addition to this really brilliant book.
Although there's a lot Elodie has to contend with in this book, the Alex/Whip "thing" is getting quite complex, I'm dying to know where the author is taking this, because, I REALLY like them both! I'm loving Whip more and more with each page, he's soooooo romantic and lovely and warm and...yes, he's got it all going for him, you'd have to have a heart of stone not to melt at these words, "this is new for me, wanting someone the way I want you," Alex, well, I still feel sympathy for him....Ms Stone has wrapped me up tighter than a coil, the direction of the story was WHOA! The crumbs she drops, my goodness! These crumbs alluded to, maybe, just maybe, there's more to Elodie than meets the eye and in one, very explosive scene, there's confirmation. Except....the carrot is left dangling right in front of me, I just can't reach it...Yes, the author does this SO well, exposing certain truths, "allowing" me to immersive myself thoroughly with the intrigue and mystery. Culminating into an ending that, although it was one of my rampant theories, STILL floored me! What a spin! Oh geez, what will come next? All I can say for sure, it's going to keep me glued once more!
Elodie is a kick-butt journalist with a knack for getting to the bottom of a story. For years, she worked shoulder-to-shoulder with her best friend and editor, Donna, who’s always supported her and encouraged her to follow her leads. Or she did before she arranged for Elodie to ship off to the US to the small island town of Raven’s Hollow.
Journalism is Elodie’s lifeblood; it’s where she gets her kicks. No need for Route 66! And with her ex-fiance left back on the British Isles, it’s a whole new world for this fledgling vamp she’s going to be getting her kicks all over the island.
When two of her fellow journalists from the paper are found shuffling down the main drag to the bridge to the mainland, with hands like bark and talking about “letting the world know”, there’s hexes being slung around Raven’s Hollow and no one knows how to unhex them! Alongside her new bestest boi Pongo the wonder-pup who keeps…on…growing… and despite the wishes of the Island’s Chief Inspector of Police, total hottie and Elodie’s is he/isn’t he boyfriend, Whip, (so much for swearing off men) Elodie’s on the case ready to break another story in her new life on Raven’s Hollow! I won’t even spoil the mega-twist!
“Hexes and Headlines” is the second novel of the new “Raven’s Hollow Investigation” series by author Ella Stone. It’s the first solo series of hers that I’ve been a part of since the beginning, and I can’t WAIT for the next book! Having enjoyed her work in partnership with Heather G. Harris on the “Witchlight Magical Mysteries” series, I was confident it was going to be good, but man-oh-man did my expectations undersell the reality. I give this a very confident 10/10 and highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a strong female lead over the age of 20 with a career, a solid head on their shoulders, and a curiosity that just won’t stop. This has the makings of a Dresden-esque series, if I do say so myself!
I received a free copy of this ebook/audiobook and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Hexes and Headlines is the delightful second installment in Ella Stone’s Ravens' Hollow Investigation series, and it continues to charm with its perfect blend of mystery, magic, and mayhem. If you fell in love with the quirky town of Ravens Hollow in the first book, get ready to dive even deeper into its enchanting—and occasionally chaotic—world.
Elodie is still adjusting to the slower pace of life in Ravens Hollow, but her journalistic instincts are as sharp as ever. When a new case rolls into town, she and her supernatural sidekick Whip jump at the chance to put their investigative skills to work. What follows is a twisty, satisfying mystery filled with snappy banter, romantic sparks, and just enough small-town drama to keep you flipping pages well past bedtime.
What really makes this series shine are its characters. Elodie is smart, curious, and endlessly relatable, while Whip continues to be the kind of partner every amateur sleuth dreams of—equal parts loyal and unpredictable. The townspeople of Ravens Hollow are as eccentric and endearing as ever, adding humor and heart to every chapter.
Ella Stone does a fantastic job balancing humor, romance, and mystery. There's action to keep the plot moving, enough emotional depth to invest you in the characters, and plenty of laughs along the way. Whether you're here for the whodunit or the slow-burn chemistry, Hexes and Headlines delivers.
If you're a fan of cozy mysteries with a magical twist, you won’t want to miss this series. Hexes and Headlines is another strong entry that proves Ravens’ Hollow Investigations is a series worth following.

Life in Ravens Hollow has settled down. Elodie is writing fluff pieces and looking into the Guardians. But when she’s on her way to the police station one evening and finds Diego wandering and hexed things start to get more interesting. And not only Diego has been hexed but Theodora as well. Now Elodie and Whip must figure out who is behind these hexes before it’s too late and Diego and Theodora are turned to bark completely. Elodie is a tough cookie. She definitely doesn’t back down, esp when it comes to her job. She may have to learn to make some compromises if it she wants to continue to see Whip though. I was worried there was going to be a love triangle, but that issue was put to rest. I’m not sure how I feel about Alex though. He seems nice but I’m not sure of his motives. But who I do love is Pongo!! Such an amazing animal companion. I mean a dog that can press buttons to communicate! Such a smart dog. And the fact that he has made Josephine’s, the station ghost, so happy is absolutely adorable! This was such a fun book! There were so many misdirects it had my head spinning trying to figure out what was really going on!! I didn’t even try to guess who it was going to be bc I knew I would be wrong. And there were so many surprises at the end of this book I couldn’t believe it. I knew there was going to be a surprise with Elodie’s family at some point but was absolutely blown away with the ending! Ella Stone is definitely one of my new favorite and go-to authors.
Elodie has been on the island now for two months, and she makes the mistake of wishing for a bit more excitement to report on. Unsurprisingly, she gets it when two of her colleagues at the paper are hexed.
Now it’s a race against time to try and find the cure, and the culprit, so she can save her coworkers.
First up, a warning. The book ends on a hook for the next book in the series— a revelation which may or may not be a surprise, but will definitely leave you with questions, and that’s on top of those we might have raised throughout the series so far!
This was a fun, and fast paced paranormal mystery story. Elodie is beginning to get used to her life as a vampire, and is definitely much less clueless than before. I also loved how she had been teaching Pongo to use the communication buttons- I’ve enjoyed seeing these work with people in the real world, and thought it was a fun addition to Elodie’s world (made funnier by Pongo’s timing). Oh and we also find out exactly what breed of dog Pongo turns out to be.
There is some romantic progress with Whip, but it’s a slow burn storyline (which is good considering Elodie was in a long term relationship when she was turned). I’m hoping to hear more of his story soon, as I feel it will be an interesting one, just as I am hoping we will hear some of Elodie’s story that even she doesn’t know!
An engaging read, this is a fun series for those who enjoy a paranormal themed mystery series.
This story was a delight to read. The writing was full of energy and vivid imagery, each playing off the other to keep me engrossed in every interaction.
I feel much more connected to the characters now that the series is three books deep and loved watching their growth, exposition and relationship development. Friends becoming more solid in each others' lives, everyday acquaintances becoming familiar, the world and it's magic gaining sureness.
I really enjoyed the mystery arc. "The possibility that it was The Guardians behind all this, to punish me for what I had done. And my friends had gotten caught in the crossfire, simply because they worked at the same place I did." - this kind of thinking/tease plotting really kept the interest high for me and gave impetus to the storyline with all the possible answers. It was quite a fast paced suspense, well crafted with entertaining rabbit hole tangents.
The slow burn romance was fun and sweet and steamy and all kinds of goodness. Lots of thoughtful communication and the MC's, Elodie and Whip, clearly respect each other. It's just the kind of feel good on-page fun that is a pleasure to follow.
This series is proving to be consistently enjoyable and one I am relishing each page of.
Ella Stone has done it again—Hexes & Headlines had me laughing, gasping, and falling in love with Ravens Hollow all over again. I thought moving here would be all cozy cottages and cute puppy moments… and then my coworkers start turning into walking, talking trees. Yeah, it’s that kind of town. 🌳 Between dodging ancient tree sprite magic, untangling feuding werewolf packs, and keeping up with a charming lion shifter who knows exactly how to get under my skin, my life has officially become way more complicated than I ever imagined. And don’t even get me started on Police Chief Whip—the immortal siren with more secrets than anyone should ever have. The mystery had me hooked from page one, and the slow-burn romance kept me swooning throughout. Ella balances humor, danger, and heart in a way that makes me feel like I’m right there in the chaos, chasing clues, surviving magical mishaps, and stealing quiet moments of connection. If you love paranormal cozy mysteries with bite, magic, and a romance that simmers just beneath the surface, Hexes & Headlines is an absolute must-read. I devoured it in one sitting and now I’m counting down the minutes until the next Ravens Hollow adventure.
As it turns out, I love stories where someone is unaware that magic exists until they are suddenly thrust into a new world.
Elodie is still settling into life in Ravens Hollow, where life has been slow and the most that’s happened is a bunny thief (was this a nod to Ella’s series with Heather G Harris? Either way, it made me giggle) and Pongo learning to communicate through buttons. (Side note: we tried those with one of my dogs. He liked them until we recorded voices, then he thought they were possessed and literally threw them across the room.)
But that wouldn’t make for a very exciting story so hold onto your seats because Oracle members have been hexed, the police chief Whip is away, and Elodie again charges head first into another investigation. Seriously. She has no self-preservation instincts. It makes for a great story but Ho.Ly.Mo.Ly. This girl gets herself into situations.
I really like mysteries where I don’t know “whodunnit” until the end and this was one of those. I think I figured it out shortly before Elodie did. It will be interesting to see how the results of this investigation change the feel of Raven’s Hollow going forward.
Sometimes boring is good and you shouldn't wish for more LOL. A quiet few weeks writing fluff stories for the newspaper has investigative reporter Elodie Evergreen hoping something newsworthy will happen in town. But be careful what you wish for when someone starts hexing her fellow staff members!! Now Elodie has her hands full trying to beat hunky police chief Whip to the crime scenes and solve it first.
I loved this new installment in the Ravens' Hollow series. Elodie is a spunky FMC still trying to adjust to her new life as a paranormal. Whip is a great MMC whose sex appeal is off the charts as a male siren. Together they are explosive fun as they banter and spar their way through the book.
The plot is well thought out and pulls in a lot of the quirky characters that populate the magically hidden island. Red herrings abound to make the mystery a lot of fun to unravel. The ending is unexpected and poignant as Elodie finds out that one of her new acquaintances is hiding a secret to her past that totally blows her away. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!.
I read an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Really enjoyed this series. I love the residents of Ravens Hollow. There’s some real variety in characters.
There was a good twist at the end but the foreshadowing was obvious (and I think intended to be), so you have a good idea where it is heading. Though the twist seems to be the hook for the next book as the main mystery had nothing to do with it.
Elodie’s gung-ho journalistic attitude, still, irks me a bit but think it just sits opposite to my core values. Though from the reaction of some other characters, I think it does them too; so perhaps more intended as an exploration of that character trait.
I love Whip and the relationship there. I’m not a fan of love triangles, so the Alex storyline isn’t my bag but it does seem to be heading to love triangle adjacent anyway. I love a good animal companion and Pongo is a sweetie.
All in all, an easy and engrossing read, interesting plot, with good character development and some humour. All the factors I like in a book. Definitely recommend.
Hexes and Headlines by Ella Stone We jump straight into the chaos when a hex is placed on Elodie’s coworkers, sending the story down a deliberately confusing trail of how, why, and who. As Elodie works to untangle the mystery, the investigation unfolds alongside mounting supernatural and professional pressure. Meanwhile, her romantic arc continues to deepen, and I appreciated the mature way boundary setting is handled. Those boundaries are clearly established, which makes the later questioning of her relationship by someone close to her feel unnecessary rather than insightful. Where this installment lost some momentum for me was in how the hex was used within the story. The focus stays so tightly on solving the mystery that the people affected by the hex fade into the background, creating a sense of distance that undercuts the tension along the way. While this book didn’t quite match the impact of the first, the explosive culmination and final reveal still deliver and set up the next installment well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️½
This series continues to go from strength to strength, with Elodie determined not to spend all of her time writing ‘fluff pieces’ and also wanting to investigate The Guardians, before they come looking for her.
As Eloide’s co-workers are struck with a hex, Elodie dives in feet first to investigate and find a cure. I love the way Elodie is fearless and determined, caring only for the safety of others. Her slow burn romance with Chief Whip, friendships being built, Pongo’s training and her investigative skills all combine together to make a character that you cannot help but like.
The story gives us more than one mystery to ponder, with its fair share of danger and a good side order of lighter moments too, it grabs hold of your attention and keeps you reading. Then the ending is a ‘oh my goodness, I need to know who, what, why!’ that will leave you begging for more.
A love triangle, slow burn romance newly turned vampire & a cute sidekick puppy, who could ask for more? Hexes are afoot turning skin to bark on Elodie’s coworkers and no one knows why they’re targeting the newspaper – could it be the rival paper that wants to acquire them, the guardians after Elodie, inventing a story to scoop the competition, or something even more nefarious? Between dog training, two love interests, writing fluff pieces for the paper, trying to adjust to being a newly turned vampire in a new town and solving mysteries Elodie’s got her plate full! A terrific book two in this series that stands well on its own but why wouldn’t you read from the beginning as those are wonderful as well. This series is well on its way and I for one can’t wait to see what happens next! The twists and turns definitely keep you guessing!
After the excitement of the murder when Elodie first moved to Ravens Hollow things are pretty dull. She’s been working with Alex to find out more about the Guardians and waiting for Whip who has been out of town. Then on the day he returns, they intercept Diego wandering down the street chanting “they must be told”. It seems he’s under a hex, then Theodora at the paper also becomes hexed. No one knows what the hex is or who did it. This book has a nice little mystery, interesting characters, growing relationships, and humour. As well as a big surprise at the end (book 3 can’t come soon enough) I’m loving Elodie’s attitudes, she doesn’t take anything from anybody and also just charges into situations. Pongo the pup is amazing, with his buttons to talk and his amazing growth. This is a fairly fast, enjoyable read and I loved it.
The second book in the series and it continues off where the first book ends. Elodie is a vampire living in a new town and getting to know everyone. She is an investigative journalist and someone places a hex on some of the residents. She has to figure it out and fix it of course. Whip is still around and they have a special relationship which is a slow burn. This book is firstly a fantasy novel with some romance starting. I like Elodie and her determination. I like the town they live in with all the diversity. The side characters are also somewhat interesting so far. It is definitely a good quick fantasy read with more books on the way. If you like quick, easy to read, fantasy novels with vampires, wolves, fae, sirens, etc… This book is perfect for you! Definitely need to read the next one with the cliffhanger on this one!
Book two and we are back in Raven’s hollow with our favourite vampiric reporter. Life is settling down, plenty of fluff pieces and basically Elodie is more than a little bored. She does have great friends and colleagues and a dog that seems to grow more and more by the day, and not to mention the totally hot sheriff but there must be more! Be careful what you wish for Elodie as it seems theres more dark magic afoot in Ravens hollow as first Diego and then Theodora are struck down and begin to slowly turn to wood. We set out on an intriguing and suspenseful investigation leaving no stone unturned as twists and turns and more than a few surprises are thrown in our path. It’s fun, it’s exciting and I am loving these adventures and the friendships that have been forged and let’s not leave out the incredible slow burn romance! I am thoroughly loving this series and cannot wait for more.
Just when you (or your reading personality) thought you were getting bored, someone put it into book form! A nice, juicy mystery is just what Elodie needs to supplement the boredom since taking down the head of the Mermaid Mafia, a couple of months ago. It's just a shame when it happens to be your colleagues that are hexed into mindlessness... There's something to be said for the tranquility of a small town, and this supernatural haven definitely isn't that.
I'm usually pretty good at seeing where a story is going, but this one kept me reading just to find out! And that ending! I DEFINITELY didn't get those vibes when the odd fae was popping up. I came into this book expecting death and dismemberment, but I got hexes, strange new abilities and a growing family.
This book continues Elodie’s experience in joining the paranormal world. I love that her character has to learn about the world and it’s not just a ‘superhero montage’ of her coming into who she is now. Her character actually has to work for that knowledge and be tested in her new life. It’s actually quite refreshing. I also like her impulsiveness that leads her into situations. It’s not just ego but her determination to investigate no matter where it leads. The dynamic between her and Whip feels natural and you can truly believe it.
I think this a really fun read. If you like slow burn romance and danger around the corner then this book might just be for you. I have enjoyed each book of the series so far.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It took me a little bit to really get into this series, and I'm not sure why. I didn't enjoy the first book as much as I thought I would, but this book hooked me more.
Elodie has settled in to her new home and new job on the island. Though she is still finding her footing in the supernatural world, with being so new to it. The story for the paper was a decent investigation. I think my problem might just be how much Elodie gets herself in trouble. Though as an investigative journalist, some trouble is to be expected when you dig into things as much as she does. She sometimes does things a cop should do, but without that training to back her up. Luckily for Elodie, she has friends who are trained in that sort of thing who can come and help her out of sticky situations.
Ella Stone is still keeping us in some suspense with what's going to happen with the crew that is hunting Elodie and dropped a bit of a bombshell at the end of this book (even though the foreshadowing was pretty heavy, it was still a bombshell!), so I'm interested to see where that goes. Also very curious as to how big Pongo is going to get, and what the deal is with him, he's a VERY smart dog...
I am quite enjoying this series, so I was very excited to see this latest book. Elodine is missing Whip while he’s away from the island, and she’s working with Alex to find out more about the Guardians. Whip comes back, and then everything goes downhill when one of her colleagues is found hexed. I just loved this latest installment, and about ¾ of the way through, I started to suspect something, which was confirmed at the end…where I about threw my e-reader across the room in frustration when it ended right there. LOL! Loved this addition to the series, and I am looking forward to the next one. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Elodie is still learning how to be a vampire, how things work in Raven Hollow and her job at The Oracle, making friends with her colleagues and figuring out her relationship with Whip. You would think that would be enough but not when you are an investigative journalist. Her sidekick Pongo has also learned a lot and seems to have picked up communication quite well. I love the buttons he pushes and his love of playing with Josephina (the ghost that works in the police station). There are a lot of false leads and twists I don’t see coming. Definitely a page turner and one you won’t want to put down!
Oh i love it! Elodie is starting to adjust living in Raven Hollows with Pongo and slowly opening her heart to Whip ....but strange things happen and the journal is attacked so it's up to her to discover what is happening and it won't be easy
really it was funny to see Pongo speak with his buttons ( still thinking he is no normal dog) and how he is playing with Josephina. It made some' scenes less tenses
And seeing Elodie " growing up" was great how she is starting to understand some paranormal rules and stuff but the cliffhanger ( part of which i guessed easily) arf i need next book!
I enjoyed this more than book one. It started a bit slow for me this time. However, once I got through the first two chapters or so, I flew through the rest of the book. I’m enjoying the growth of Ella‘s character and of the friendships and bonds. She’s formed. I do have to wonder if there is something supernatural about Pongo though. And I have questions as to whether Alex is being a friend, truly interested in her, or is the person that the guardians have asked to keep an eye on her.It was nice to see. I was correct in my assumption of who Amira was, though at the end of the book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Like all the author’s books this has a main mystery…whodunnit style, and a lot of interesting characters. There’s lots of action, and of course cute Pongo. There’s a second mystery introduced near the end of the book…I am guessing it will be solved in the next book in the series. And everyone lives, but there is a clifffhanger ending. This can be read as a stand alone book, but you will like the characters and world building more if you have read the earlier books.

A newly turned vampire, who was a reporter for a London news outlet was sent off to an Island to be with her kind. So now she is writing stories about how a bunny was involved with stealing jewerly and other items for it's home owner. She found a pup, Pongo who helped her survive a mermaid attack when she first got to Ravens' Hollow. She is realizing how big Pongo may get. This is a funny set of books, both one and two are how she is gtting along with her vampirism.

I loved reading Hexes & Headlines. The Raven's Hollow series gets better with each book. I love Elodie, and getting to know her and the other characters better has been great. The story was interesting and kept me guessing, and I loved getting to know more about the world of Raven's Hollow. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book, especially after the reveal at the end of this one. I highly recommend this book and the whole Raven's Hollow series to readers who enjoy vampire and shifter mysteries.

Life has slowed right down in Ravens Hollow, so fluff pieces are all Elodie can do. Well, until she finds Diego walking down the road …. Hexed! And so is Theodora. Is the Oracle being targeted? Elodie’s relationships within this story, and her investigative spirit really make this a joy and fun read. Pongo is getting smarter, and Elodie and Whip’s relationship is getting sweeter. Book two in the series is a wonderful continuation of Elodie’s life in Ravens Hollow. Can’t wait for the next one.
