Second chance
This was an unexpected second chance at love. Sloan and Calil were high school sweethearts, but Calil broke it off because he was young and his star was rising and he was not ready for such a serious relationship. While that was her first heartbreak she went on to achieve her dream of being a Social Worker and had been married for the past 12 years while Calil achieved his dream of being an NBA star. When they reconnect, there is an underlying connection there but Sloan is married. It was like the stars align because she finds out her husband has been on some fkboy ish. I thought it was wild that he really had no remorse for his actions, but felt like she should keep their family together. 🥷🏾 Please GTFO. Calil was sweet to her and with his limited time made his intentions known and stayed true to his word not to fumble her a second time.
Things I didn't care for: The random ghosting, are we in high school? I didn't understand that approach from Sloan at all. The lack of interaction with Sloan and the Grandfather at Calil's house, not one dinner? Just odd. In the beginning the "mention" of the threesome, but the stage was set but there was no actual scene was pointless.
Overall an okay read.

Simply Amazing!!
Book 9 of the BLP Sports Series was simply amazing. This second chance sports romance was so well written by Monae!! She did an excellent job drawing me into this story. It was the perfect blend of love, insecurities, and drama.
I love Calil and Slone’s story, he knew she was the one for him but was young and messed it up but when she was ready he went all in to get the love of his life back. This story reminded me that no matter what happens in your life if something or someone is meant to be a part of your life it will happen in God’s timing.
If you love second chance romance and sports romance, then this is definitely the book for you!!

Second Chance!!
Calil and Sloan re-entered each other lives when a medical emergency happens in Calil's family. Sloan is going through a devastating time due to her marriage. Once Calil finds this out, he is determined to not let Sloan get away again since he knows that she's the one for him even though he dropped the ball when they were younger. Sloan's ex was trifling, and I was glad that she stood her ground with him and didn't let up once she made up her mind. I love a good second chance book and this one was a great read. It had great characters, great chemistry and passionate love scenes. I highly recommend this book because I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Well Roy fumbled Sloan; Calil picked up the fumble and won the championship (Sloan’s heart). The second chance at love; to getting back what you let go when you had childish ways is a wonderful thing. Calil went after Sloan all while giving her space from Roy’s doggish butt. The nerve of Roy to claim he wanted his family but talked to Sloan like she was ish. Glad she stood her ground and followed her heart.
I liked Calil’s relationship with his grandfather. He kept it real with Calil, gave he the guidance he needed with perusing Sloan. I also like Sloan’s best friend Kendyll; she was a real good friend.

Hmmm, there’s something charismatic & irresistible about those Cooper men 🤭‼️ Dj cue the music LTD featuring Mr. Osborn 🎶”Back In Love Again”🎵🤎 Sloan & Calil and Grandpa & nurse Yvonne 😉😘‼️…That’s the sweet beauty of growing up through (60s/70s/80s/90s) decades of great music & movies. Consequently, I can associate a specific band, solo artist and or song to practically every book in my library 🤭🤷🏾♀️‼️Nevertheless, “Guarding Our Love (BLP Sports Series - Book 9) was a great & entertaining read (4.5 ⭐️’s).

Guarding our love
This was a cute story. I liked the second chance love aspect for Sloan and Calil and that he was determined to show her he was all in and not the same high school boy who broke her heart. I liked how intentional Calil was and when there was a break in communication, he pulled up on Sloan to get the issue resolved and further showed her he was all in and they would get through everything together.

3.5 round up. I enjoyed this more than the others but I do think aside from the couples professions you don’t really get a feel for their personality and because of that at times I felt like it dragged on. There was enough drama or plot with personality that made it interesting but it was good. The only other thing I didn’t like but was like eh was no indication of the epilogue or finality in the last chapter before just boom I love you we got a baby and it’s the finals lol😂

Great read! Calil didn't plan to see his first love again, but once he did, baby, he wasn’t letting up despite Sloan relationship status.
Sloan was a hardworking social worker, mom and wife, however seeing Calil for the first times in many years had her all tingly inside, but she did not betray or husband, he betrayed Sloan and theor 2 sons! Sloan didn't hesitate to get that divorce!
Calil and Sloan were able to rekindle their relationship with the support of their families!

To the Point!
Love that this story of Calil and Sloan was not long and drawn out without immature behavior by Calil nor Roy. Was confused about Roy’s behavior and the hint of trouble throughout the marriage. Overall a good read,without any drama or cheating from Calil’s lifestyle.Love the play on my favorite basketball team the “Warriors” hope they do win their 5th championship as well.

Sloan and Calil dated in high school but he was not done sowing his wild oats so they broke up only to meet up years later and after discovering her husband Roy cheated on her they rekindled their love affair and the rest was history! It was a great read, A second chance at love!

Awesome Read!!
I love all sports stories being that I'm a sports girl, so when I'm able to come across a story about two of my favorite things it's a win. So I truly , loved this storyline and the second chance at love, so glad she didn't give up on love after everything with her husband and gave love a second chance and so glad he was able to finally get the love of his life.

Great second chance book. I understood Sloans hesitation but I’m with Lil about the communication. Communication is key when trying to build something solid. Was happy that Sloan stood on business regarding Roy and was able ti find love again with her first love. Great book.
