Mystery, ghosts, small-town charm… and murder.
These Mountains Keep Secrets. These Mountains Tell Lies.
It’s Memorial Day weekend in the scenic village of Blue Lake—the first breath of summer in the Adirondacks. The hosts of the popular podcast Midnight Rendezvous arrive in town to record a special episode from the summit of nearby Mt. Greylock. Under the rare glow of a Blue Moon, the hosts plan to conjure spirits from the mountain’s haunted past—hikers, Revolutionary War ghosts, Abenaki shadows—echoes and legends from Adirondack centuries gone by.
Five go up the mountain. Only four come back down alive.
Enter the Blue Lake Detective Agency—an unlikely team of crime-solving shopkeepers led by ex-NYPD forensic analyst Celia Strong. Working together with Sheriff Denny DeWalt, Celia and her friends race against a ticking clock to solve the mystery before the killer strikes again.
Meanwhile, local handyman Tony Sullivan wakes up to a mystery of his own—his boat has vanished, but its trailer still sits in his driveway. Tony wants answers. And his boat.
Can Celia and her team untangle two baffling cases before the next body turns up? Kick off the summer with Blue Moon Murder—Book Nine in the Blue Lake Cozy Murder Mystery Series by Hadley K. Knox.
A podcast crew has arrived in Blue Lake and the anticipation for their live podcast is high, almost as high as the climb to Mt. Greylock will be for this crew and their guide. On a dark and strange night things get a little chaotic. Once the chaos clears, one member is dead.
The Blue Lake Detective Agency is on the job. They may have their hands full with this one because this crew of podcasters have a few things in their past that make each of them a prime suspect.
I always enjoy a book from this fantastic series. The characters are vibrant and energetic, and they also each possess some type of awesome skill set, which makes their agency the one you want when you need to solve a crime. This is not your average cozy mystery because the members of the Blue Lake Detective Agency are not amateurs. They know how to solve crimes and have the pedigree to prove their worth to the local police force.
After I finish reading a book from this series, it makes me want to visit this quaint town with its beautiful scenery. I feel as if I have had a visit with friends after finishing the book. This is another win in the winner's column for the Blue Lake series.
Thank you to BookSirens and the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Blue Lake Village residents are excited to welcome the Midnight Rendevouz podcasters to their village. The live podcast will take place during the blue moon event at the top of Mt. Greylock with the participants hoping to encounter the legendary Rockman and any other ‘spirits’ who might be roaming. Before the sun rises, one person on the mountain is dead and no one seems to know how it happened.
With not enough evidence to arrest anyone, Denny, Celia and the gang have a short window of opportunity to untangle this web of deceit before those involved leave town to carry on with their lives. As usual, everyone at the Blue Lake Detective agency brings their unique gifts to the table to solve this case.
A trip to Blue Lake is always a great way to spend a weekend. This is a stand-alone mystery, but you should go back to the beginning to get to know the wonderful characters. It is a clean read with no graphic violence, sexual scenes (nor romance) or foul language. Just a great whodunit!
I was given an ARC copy by the author and this is my honest review.
One of my favorite series is this one about Blue Lake. It is locate in the Adirondack Mountains, and I live nearby.
This story involves a group of podcasters called Midnight Rendevouz coming to Blue Lake Village. The live podcast will take place during the blue moon event at the top of Mt. Greylock . Local stories are told about the legendary Rockman ghost story and the podcasters are hoping to encounter him during the event. Alas, one person on the mountain dies during the event and no one seems to know how it happened.
The Blue Lake Detective agency have a short window of opportunity to try to solve the crime before the podcasters take off for home.
This is a great whodunit mystery and I enjoyed reading it. It can be read as a stand alone, but I encourage you to read the entire series. You won't be disappointed!

Mountaintop murder. When the podcast crew for Midnight Rendezvous arrive in Blue Lake for the Memorial Day weekend to do a story from atop Mount Greylock there is already tension in the air. When the podcast ends suddenly and the show's guest is found dead the sheriff and Blue Lake detective agency are on the case. Was the death an accident caused by the mythical Rockman, or was it something else entirely? Celia and her fellow amateur detectives must sort through the personal and professional conflicts and find the truth. Another fine addition to the Blue Lake series which continues to expand the characters. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Blue Moon Murder is Book 9 in A Blue Lake Cozy Murder Mystery by Hadley K Knox. One thing that I really enjoy in the series is the growth and change in the series/characters. Celia came to Blue Lake to open an ice cream shop as well as to look into her husband's murder. Now she along with her friends have opened the Blue Lake Detective Agency. A famous podcaster is killed and Celia is on the case. Sometimes the past will come back to get you! I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
I have read every book in the Blue Lake series. Each can be read as a stand alone, however they are better if read in order. The character growth and background information deepen in each story. Celia and Denny are the two main characters. The others are business owners in Blue Lake Village, in New York. When podcasters arrive to tape their show on Mt. Greylock, things go awry and one member is murdered. The team from the detective agency use their skills and deduce how this crime was committed. I am looking forward to more books in the series. Enjoy!
Another winner in the Blue Lake series. In this installment, a podcast is coming to Blue Lake. They plan to climb the local mountain and live-stream from the top at midnight. However, things don't go as planned, and their guest for the show is now dead. Watch how the team uses each of their talents to solve this case.
Love the characters, love how they interact, and love the storylines. If you are looking for an entertaining, well-written cozy, then this series is for you. Thanks to BookSirens for the ARC of this book
An enjoyable cozy murder mystery. The Blue Lake Detective Agency is working on a couple of small cases keeping them busy when a bigger case, murder, occurs. I like the group of small business owners making up the agency employees. They use their brains and spread the research around keeping the plot moving and interesting. Not a ton of action but enough to make the story believable and moving forward.
I received a free advance copy from BookSirens and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This was really fun and a page turner Celia is involved in solving the murder of a guest on a podcast. While broadcasting live on top of a Mountain to investigate a cold case a person is killed. Celia is hired to investigate and along with the Sheriff they try to solve the case. I enjoyed this book and I recommend it.
Murder, missing boat keeps the Blue Lake Detective Agency busy with these current cases. Time was running out and the detective crew had their work cut out for them. An intriguing read with suspense keeping you guessing till the end. I received this ARC copy via Booksirans and recommend this book to other readers.
This one was more drawn out and less interesting as compared to her other books in the series. Nevertheless, I still gave it 4 stars because it is good. The characters are great and easy to read. I still look forward to the next in the series.

Celia and her friends at Blue Lake have formed the Blue Lake Detective Agency. A famous podcaster is murdered and the team is on the case. An enjoyable and fun read. Enjoy.
