Finn has messed up. Big time. He let his late great-aunt persuade him to take over the position of choirmaster, and now he's somehow led the choir to summon a monster. In the middle of a centuries-old church. Send help, please?
Hugo is used to being called in to put out metaphorical fires. After all, having dealt with Tully's hystrionics through the centuries, dealing with this new disaster over in Ireland should be a piece of cake. That is, until Finn opens his front door.
This short and catastrophic M/M story features an animal-loving human, gargoyles-and-púcas-and-Yule-cats-oh-my!, an ensemble of allies, accidental misuse of a choir, wicked usage of a tail, acceptance in all forms, and found families. It contains adult language and explicit sexual content. That means if you're not 18 or older, this book is not for you, so put it back. Go on, shoo!
M.F. Moody is a purveyor of Contemporary, Rom-Com, Dark, Mafia, Fantasy, Paranormal, LGBTQ+, RH/Poly, and Sci-Fi Romance novels. She has a vivid and active imagination, is often blunt to the point of brutality, has a dark and warped sense of humour, absolutely no filter, no shame, is an absolute genre whore, and aspires to the giddy heights of the gutter.
M.F. Moody is married to a VERY understanding man, and together they have a boy-child, 3 cats, and apparently WAAAAY too many books and alcohol, especially as she’s the only one who drinks. Although really, is there such a thing as having too many books? And as for the alcohol, well, she’s Australian. They live in a little corner of Kent in the UK, and she enjoys confusing the locals with her accent and colloquialisms, reading, coffee, wine, reading, baking, sleeping, and did we mention reading?
MM Animal Sidekick Chosen Mates Gargoyle MMC Human MMC Magical Discovery Cinnamonroll Paranormal Novella
Sing A Song of Summoning is book two in the Would You Love A Monster Man series. The books are standalones and can be read in any order.
Finn is a cinnamonroll who has taken up his late Aunt’s place as choirmaster in his small Irish village church. On his debut night as head of the choir, he accidentally summons a creature of legend.
Hugo is a gargoyle who has lived for centuries. He gets the call from a friend to help figure out what has happened in the village of Tuggahbohner.
Finn and Hugo are thrust together in an attempt to reverse the summoning. They share an instant attraction. Hugo helps Finn build his confidence and becomes fiercely protective of the human he now wants to mate with.
Sing a Song of Summoning by M.F Moody is book two in the Would you love a monster man series. This is book two of the series but it can be read as a standalone. This is a quick read clocking in at around 230 pages but don’t let the length fool you. It’s jammed packed with some great things like a M/M romance, found families and being accepted. Oh did I mention… gargoyles? But the highlight for me hands down was the relationship between Finn and Hugo. Their chemistry was off the charts! I will say that their romance is fast paced but that didn’t take away from the story in the least. Plus the message of just being yourself was a really great addition. I will also say my attention was captured with the accidental summoning and it stayed that way until the end. I found myself captivated with this read. I do think it was well written with great worldbuilding and the characters are awesome. I would definitely suggest this book if you want a quick read with humor and a steamy good time!
I don’t read a whole lot of MM romances, but whenever I do I love the men all cute and lovely just like Hugo and Finn. These two are amazing together; it’s so easy to imagine the heart-eyes they throw at each other. And the spice definitely heats up the room as well. The atmosphere reminds me a little of Richard Amos’ work, although the plot development and writing style are unique for both.
The story of an accidental summoning is quite funny, and I truly loved the way these characters dealt with it. Even though this series is paranormal, the human characters deal with everything us “regular folk” deal with as well. As a result, Finn didn’t have the easiest life, making it even sweeter to watch him find his happily ever after. I truly love this series, and already knowing who will shine in book three, I already can’t wait!
What would you do if you ended up with a big mess on your hands? Finn can tell you. Moved to a small, sleepy Irish village after his great-aunt died, he tried to organize her things and take over the role she asked of him - becoming the local choirmaster and her successor. Only, he accidentally manages to summon a supernatural being in the form of giant cat, in a church, and now the village is scared and his nemesis loves to pester him on daily basis. Helpless, he is almost relieved when two gargoyles end up on his porch, one of which makes Finn's feelings go all fuzzy and heated.. A bit funny MM paranormal romance with some very steamy scenes, a protagonist that managed to attract all sorts of trouble, and a rather cute misplaced mischievous spirit that takes liking in Finn's new home. It was an easy and fast read. Finn and Hugo deserve their HEA :)
This is the second book in the Would You Love a Monster-Man? series and follows a different couple, but I have to say I loved it as much as the first one! Finn, one of our MMC's has become choirmaster after the death of his aunt. Of course, there's always one person who doesn't like that, and it's made even worse when Finn accidentally summons a "demon" in the middle of the church!
This is where Huge, a gargoyle, comes in after he gets a call from a friend. What he doesn't expect to find when he arrives is his other half. The two have instant chemistry, and I'm all for it.
While it is a story about working out how Finn managed to summon the demon, there is also character building for Finn, even in a short story like this. I love Huge and Finn together; they are such a cute couple.
I can't wait to see what comes next with this series.
Sing a Song of Summoning is a short, fun, and totally chaotic M/M read that I really enjoyed. Finn is an animal-loving cinnamon roll who means well—but when he takes over as choirmaster in his small Irish village, he accidentally summons a monster in the church. Oops.
Hugo, a centuries-old gargoyle, shows up to help fix the mess. From the moment they meet, sparks fly. Hugo is protective and supportive, helping Finn grow in confidence while trying to undo the magical disaster.
This book has it all—humor, heart, heat, and a wild mix of magical creatures. It’s fast-paced and funny, with a sweet romance and a strong found-family vibe. The writing is sharp, clever, and so enjoyable. Definitely worth the read!
Sing A Song of Summoning by M.F. Moody is a sweet MM paranormal romance. Finn the new choir director in a small town in Ireland accidentally summons a creature during a performance unleashing a huge creature. Hugo is one of the men called in to help fix things. However, neither Finn nor Hugo could have expected to find love in the midst of chaos.
This is a perfect shorter binge read. It has plenty of humor mixed in. I loved the characters and they are well developed. I'm a sucker for Insta-love like this between a Gargoyle and a human. If you enjoy MM with supernatural creatures, sweet romance, finding where you fit in, and finding oneself then you'll love Sing A Song of Summoning.
I’d forgotten how much I’d enjoyed this author’s writing (after only one book!), until I read this latest in the series. It’s only book number two, but man is it a wonderful series. It’s light, simple, easy to read (all in very good ways), and so very full of heart. I immediately knew these characters just after the first introduction, and the author made me care so much for them right away. Add in a fun storyline, a very HOT romance, and a very despicable character, and I am all in for this book. I just loved this, and if you need a pick-me-up, definitely read this one. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Poor Finnegan, his wonderful Great-Aunt has passed and she begged him to take over as choir director, and what happens he sees this song in one of her old books and he has the choir sing it and oh dear! What is the inky behemoth? As everyone runs from the chuck, with Camellia O’Phail screaming she should have been the choirmistress! Finn saying, “Here, puss puss…who wants chin scritches?” Starts this charming story, that includes finding love, Gargoyles, Church traditions, revoking curses and leaving you hanging with …. “I’ve been left here to my own devices.” “Their mistake.” I hope the author is kind and will let us know what happens when someone is left too long on their own!
This is book 2 and is novella length, but you don't have to read the previous book. This is a separate MM PNR couple to the last book.
Finn has taken over as choirmaster and accidentally summoned .... something (oops!). Hugo, a gargoyle, shows up to help. There is an instant attraction between Finn and Hugo.
The story is quite sweet, heartwarming and light. I loved the chemistry between Finn and Hugo; they were just great together.
The book has humour, and the story keeps you hooked.
Overall, it's a simple, enjoyable read that leaves you feeling good. Definitely recommend it if you want something charming and a bit magical!
This was another fun read for the series, and yes, they're stand-alones, so no worry about missing out other than missing a great read if you haven't read the previous book ;D Finn accidentally summons Hugo, a gargoyle, on his debut night as choirmaster and these two sure have an instant and hot chemistry. I love how I could connect with Finn so well and that Hugo was the perfect match for him. This is a story filled with humour, heart and heat as they work their way to a fab HEA....and of course, there's a despicable bad guy to keep things hopping ;) Definitely an engaging and entertaining read. Good fun!
4/5. Still had some wonky bits and proofing whiffs, but fuck me was this leagues better than the first installment. My almost-adult kid was reading with me and now they understand exactly where they get it from. Growing up watching Gargoyles every day before school when I was at my mom’s house is all the explanation needed for my sexuality and monster fucker ways, confirmed for the umpteenth time. I seriously cannot wait to read the next one if it’s anything like this one. Can we please have a redo of the first novella?? It needs this same energy.
Absolutely delicious MM monster romance. First time reading this author and I was delighted with her writing style. I love Finn and Hugo so much, they were such perfect mates! I really enjoyed Lock as well and am hoping he gets his own story, and I believe his mischief would be off the charts. This was a quick read for me and love that it was a standalone, so everything was wrapped up by the end. I also really liked that it was a person that did the summoning but a combination of the devotion of a choir at a church and a sacred place.
Loved that this story started with a cat causing chaos. It makes me want to read more about Yule cats & Púcas. Finn & Hugo’s relationship was pretty sweet & they were both instantly attracted to one another. There was some funny snark thrown in; along with A Lot of phrases/words in (French? Idk?) but since I don’t know any other languages just had to gloss over those parts so not sure if I missed anything important to the storyline. Also that town name….. Tuggahbohner …. if it’s supposed to be pronounced how it’s spelled 👀😅 lol.
This hilarious read had me captivated from the first page! I love Finn and his accidental shenanigans! Hugo was definitely swoon worthy, and I really enjoyed the world building with gargoyles, and yule cats and an accidental summoning. This book was full of action, some sweet, and dirty, moments, and of course some wonderful relationships. I love how the Father stood up for Finn, and encouraged him to be himself. Bo and Lock had me in stitches every time they came around, and I cannot wait to see what Lock gets up to! Wonderful read.
Ms. MF gives us an awesome standalone book in this series! Finn has accidentally summoned a creature on his first night as choirmaster and Hugo and his friend are brought to help sort out the situation only to fall head over heels for Finn. What follows is a sweet steamy story that is not to be missed. Dive into this wonderfully written book with complex characters and plot twists that keep you turning pages throughout. I loved reading this story and highly recommend it. Don't miss out on this book!!
Sing A Song of Summoning is book two in the Would You Love A Monster Man series. The books are standalones or can be read in order and if you’re feeling fun you could mix up the order too.
A fun little MM monster romance read…
Hugo is a gargoyle who has lived for centuries. He gets the call from a friend to help figure out what has happened in the village of Tuggahbohner.
Finn has taken up his late Aunt’s place as choirmaster in his small Irish village church
Finn and Hugo come together in an attempt to reverse the summoning. They share an instant attraction Their chemistry was off the charts.
I do not read a lot of mm romance, but this one was cute. Hugo and Finn are lovey together and just fit. They are so good together. I could almost feel like I was watch a cute mm movie, that is how good the writing is. Also it does not hurt that the spice was at a good level as well.
This book had me at accidental summoning though, I just love a good book with humor. Also add in the paranormal and I was done for.
If you are looking for a good series to start, I would recommend this one. I mean with a series called Would you love a monster-man, you really can not go wrong.
I had so much fun reading this story. It is the second book in a series but can be enjoyed without reading the first. Though the first was good too so honestly it should be read. Well Finn is an adorable cutie who gets into some shenanigans which he needs help with. And then we’ve got Hugo who’s pretty great. There’s a lot to snark and banter with these cuties which had me laughing a lot. The relationship builds well which kept me entertained the entire time. The story is well worth the read. If you like mm or monsters this is a great story to get started on.
Finn is an adorable cinnamon roll who’s broken but tragedy. After his aunt passed she made him promise to take over the church choir. His first event he manages to summon a magical creature with mischievous intent. In comes Hugo, a gargoyle who is witty yet tender with Finn and brings out his unholy side, add in furry sidekicks and spicy banter this short read is packed full of fun.
Finn didn’t know what he did. One minute he was directing the choir to sing a song, the next a Giant Cat appears and wants to make the church his scratching post. He can never live down the humiliation. Especially since Camille thinks he is unnatural anyway. Then Hugo appears and it feels like heaven. Can he live down all things that have happened and live a life he wants.
Finn is leading a church choir and accidentally summoned a monster …. Oops?
So a couple of gargoyles come to help fix the situation. Hugo is one of them. Finn and Hugo are mutually attracted to each other immediately. The chemistry leads to a lovely spice and I am so here for it!!! Hugo is so encouraging and loving to Finn - I just adore them together!
The story is light-harded, the comedy is dry and witty, and the chemistry is hot!! Such wonderful ingredients for a pnr romance!
This is such a quick read!!!! Hugo and Finn are so cute. This book is fast-paced. It is the second book in the series. it is off the charts, steamy!! I just loved how Finn just took to Hugo right away. It was instant chemistry. Finn has always taken care of everyone else. After his aunt dies, he has taken over the choir. Finding a new song, he ends up summoning a monster, Lock. I really hope Lock gets his own book!!!! I just love this whole world. I need more!!
Do you remember that 90's cartoon Gargoyles? This book is what I imagine a gay love story version of that show would look like. This is sweet and funny with just the right amount off intrigue and danger to keep it moving forward. I have to say my favorite character was Lock as I 10000% picture his conversations as what a cat would actually say.
Finn is a human who accidentally performs a summoning during a choir performance. Hugo is a gargoyle who is called in to assist with reversing the summoning. They are thrust into each others orbits and have an instant connection. The snark and back and forth was fun to watch develop. This is book 2 in a series of standalones and was so fun to read.
Oh, this was such a sweet story! I mean who doesn't love a cute guy with golden retriever energy, throw in an accidental summoning of a massive fluffy black cat, who can shrink down to a manageable size, and then add a gargoyle who can help solve the problem and you have a a heart-warming tale with a very happy ending. Just loved it so much.
I love Finn and Hugo, they were such perfect mates. I really enjoyed Lock as well and I’m hoping he gets his own story, I believe his mischief would be off the charts. This was a quick read for and love that it was a standalone, but also linked to a series that you don’t really have to read. But everything was wrapped up by the end, for it to be a standalone.
This is a short cute monster romance. Finn had his choir group accidentally summoned a monster. It’s not his fault not really he shouldn’t have been left in charge. The blame falls on his aunt. Enter Hugo the gargoyle he’s here to save the day. Find out how and how his and Finn‘s relationship develops through the story.
This was such a fun little read. I mean, a choir summoning a demon?! Hilarious.
Finn and Hugo are really cute as well and I found myself routing for them as the pages turned. Despite it being a shorter read it was still jam packed with great world building, strong characters and a whole lot of fun.
I love reading books written by M.F Moody. She draws you in from the beginning and doesn't release you until the end. Amazing story and characters. Finn takes over the choir after his Aunt passes away, but on his first practice he accidentally summons a creature. Hugo arrives to figure out what happened and to help reverse what did. There is an attraction between Finn and Hugo.
